Thanks edinburgher. Wow, I'll bet that was spectacular! Several years ago we did one in Ketchikan, over Misty Fjords....same deal....got off the ship and the weather was perfect and we were able to book it right then.

Thank you Wolfie and karatemom..... this sounds good. Is it a bus, van, some type of watercraft? Who is the tour operator? First time in Haines and looking forward to it...

Going to be in Haines early August and looking at excursions available. A "wildlife canoe safari" on Chilkoot Lake sounds like it may be good. Has anyone been on this or similar tour? Your thoughts/ comments, etc.?? Or what did YOU like in Haines? Comments, suggestions welcome!
