  1. Can anyone suggest what side of the ship (Port or Starboard) to book so that when we are in dock (3 days) we will have a nice view of the island? We typically book a level 2B cabin -deck 6/7.

It has been the port side at the Royal Dockyard for the past 5 cruises

  2. We ate there speak to your maitre D' in your dining room. They can get you a 50% discount, depending on the traffic. The food is presented in a fun like fashion but in my opinion is nothing special. If you want a "special" meal Murano is the place to go. Keep in mind food tastes are subjective, but I would spend my money elsewhere.

No Murano on Summit - Normandie is the place $45 for a meal there just like Qsine

  3. My fear is the price of parking will go up to cover the cost of the new garage and cruise terminal. I don't mind $19 a day, but anything over that will start to hurt.

It's a short walk (usually) from parking to check in terminal. Also driver can drop off passengers when/where luggage is dropped off with their carry ons, so then only driver has to walk back from the parking lot to the check in terminal.

I heard once the new covered parking and terminal comes into effect $30 will be the cost to park per day -

  4. Just started this season, Bermuda changed its law/rules and now allows cruise ships to buy a license to operate the casino in port.

Celebrity has the license, not sure if any other lines do. It's open at 9pm, and I couldn't recall when it closes. It was jam packed with people lined up waiting for spots to play on my last summit cruise.

This hasn't changed the rules about ship stores not being open in port, they are still closed the whole duration.

  5. I have been told there will be 2 formal nights on Equinox 7 night cruise at the end of June

In my limited cruising experience formal nights are always on "days at sea" and yet we only have one of those during the 7 nights so when will the 2nd formal night be?

Thanks for any help on this matter

It is usually Night 2 & Night 6

  6. Now I temper my comment with this tidbit, last Nov the wifester and I had a 10-11 page sea pass bill;) on the Reflection, but I do seem to remember in the lifts there was an insert on the floor, that had the day of the week on it. But that was a few months ago:D

All that Art work Wallie's been buying left nothing for the rest of us

  7. I find it very funny reading some of the reports on here. You would think every Celebrity boat has sunk to the bottom of the ocean the way some people writw up their comments.

I think several critics on here don't have time to enjoy cruising or enjoy being out at sea as they are out investigating whether there is a 1mm stain outside room 3010 or maybe the sushi doesn't look right or maybe there is not enough towels or wait maybe they missed the 1mm stain on desk 9. Oh my - my cruise had ended and I'm not finished counting stains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Confusing is a matter of perspective. We are used to this in the US and aren't confused at all. But, whenever I have rented a car in the UK or Australia, I found that having to drive on the wrong side of the road was confusing. One of the reasons I think you should change to driving on the right like most of the world does. :D

No pal - a lot of countries drive on the correct side of the road - left just ask South Africa - Zimbabwe - India - Japan - Australia - New Zealand - Bermuda to name a few. Maybe the yanks need to catch up with the world metric wise and stop living in the past

  9. Of course! I'm always happen to share my cruises with others and help when I can. Thanks for the promotion Wallie! :)

I just requested to join the Facebook Group.

Thanks Heather for the wonderful photos - I would highly reccommend the panama canal on celebrity - we've done it 4 times over the years on the Galaxy - twice - Horizon & Zenith alas none of those boats are around with celebrity anymore

  10. I was half way out the door to pick up my wife and daughter from the Summit (they had a 9:30 departure time) when they called to say that the Coast Guard inspection that was supposed to be last Sunday is underway today. They have been told there is a one hour delay in debarkation.

Yeah more time on the boat and more time to sleep in - yeah:D

  11. This Is not my first cruise on Celebrity, but it is my first cruise with 6 sea days all in a row.

I will be on the Solstice 12 day Hawaiian cruise. I sailed her last year so I worry that I may be board, especially if all the shows are the same as last year.

I love sea days, which is why I booked this cruise. I just wonder what tricks Celebrity has up their sleeves to keep us entertained for 6 days straight--especially now since it has been rumored that they are reducing free entertainment options.:o

enjoy life - enjoy the ocean - enjoy the people

  12. Hi all,

Good news! We've been informed that all of our ships will be showing the Stanley Cup Finals. One quick note is that every ship may not be able to show the games live, as that will depend where the ship is located at the time of the game. Some games may be on a slight tape delay.

With that being said, we have every reason to believe that Summit will have the games live. Hope this helps!

What about the biggest show on the planet the World Cup - I believe Celebrity is showing all of those on dedicated channels - that event definitely trumps the Stanley Cup by miles

  13. Hi, not sure what information you are looking for, but we recently had one on the Eclipse. I was really impressed with the room, it was light and airy with plenty of storage & hanging space with plenty of room to walk around and suitcases fitted under the bed. The bathroom was really nice with a decent sized shower, more storage space and plenty of room to get dry after the shower. I personally would have liked more plugs with all the different stuff DH brings each with it's own charger but we managed. we didn't like the afternoon canapes, but that's personal choice and whether you like what's on offer, too many olives for us. Bed was really comfy and we slept well every night. Liked it so much we've just booked another one for next year.

we got our room attendant to change the Canapes to shrimp cocktails - stuffed mushroom and on a couple of occasions goat cheese suffles - just have to ask and it will be done

  14. If there is a policy about being covered in ink, then my husband will be thrown overboard, because he is covered!!

Thank you everybody for all your posts, replies, thoughts and comments on this matter. I think that for breakfast and dinner as long as you are covered appropriately and are clean, neat and tidy then there is no cause to complain. I am on my holiday, I want to relax and of course it will be hot so I am not going to be wearing my ballgown for either of these two meals. Dinner is different. Where ever we are on our holidays we always dress smart/casual and I would not entertain wearing a t-shirt or shorts to dinner, even in the buffet. The rule of not wearing t-shirts especially to breakfast or dinner is extreme. If I came in just wearing my bikini then I would understand the complaints and being asked to leave the restaurant but a t-shirt, the attire most people wear on their holidays to me is perfectly acceptable. And hey, rules are there to be broken! x

    Miss UK,

We've sailed Celebrity 19 times now - soon to be # 20 and for breakfast and lunch if I choose to eat in the restaurant I always wear my Liverpool FC Jersey along with my shorts - I have never been told to leave but get a lot of the waiters and waitresses ask if I'm from Liverpool - so a great topic of conversation since the restaurant staff is 95% European and Football crazy so always a great way for me to strike up Football conversations with them. At night I dress according to the dress code. Idiots who come in with flip flops T shirts and shorts need to be tossed out - what they need to do is stay home and eat like that at home
