Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Pack air freshener. The cabin and bathroom are a small space 😷. Check out independent excursions as so much cheaper than the cruise lines. Generally there will be loads of people touting day trips and taxis. Find out what you want to do beforehand and then haggle. If you just want to go to a beach with a nice bar chat to them and they will be able to recommend.
  2. I went on this cruise last year and this is what we did:- Athens - we went to the Acropolis. When you arrive at the entrance stick to the right hand side and walk to the front. There were private guides there who take you on a tour which was so interesting. Well worth the money. Possibly £100 a couple. Loved Athens well worth going a day beforehand. Santorini - if there are more than a couple of ships in I would stay on the ship. You get tendered in and then you have to catch a cable car up to the town. Absolute nightmare often more than a two hour wait in the heat. The alternative ways of getting up to the town are on the back of a mule or to walk the steps which are endless. I went up on a mule in a group and the poor people walking up were being squashed against the wall and looked terrified. We walked down and the shallow steps are very slippery as they have a marble edge. My legs were like jelly when we got down. When you do get to the town it is absolutely heaving. Such a shame as I have heard it is a beautiful island. Rhodes - loved it here and just a short walk from the ship - beautiful ancient walled town with a wonderful castle. Just nice to stroll around and then the best place is a bar called the Socrates Garden which is a wonderful oasis right off of the Main Street perfect for getting out of the sun. We stayed there playing Rummikub and drinking for a few hours. Bodrum we just mooched about and bought a moody handbag etc. Mykonos - we went to Super Paradise Beach Club for the day which was fabulous. Very chilled and relaxing in lovely surroundings. We got off the boat and walked to the right, up a slight hill and there were a load of taxis. Had lunch in the neighbouring beach club and then got a lift back with some ladies who were on a different cruise. You can book the club in advance but when we arrived early we were the first there so had the entire bay to ourselves. www.super-paradise.com. Don't. confused it with Paradise Beach Club which is where you go for raving etc. Mykonos is lovely to just wander around with lots of photo opportunities. Hope this helps and enjoy your cruise.
