  1. Did a B2B in October/November. I thought it was a beautiful ship. The maître D in the back dining room was fabulous. This is one of my favorite ships. It's kind of a toss up between it and the Liberty.

  2. Wow, people make stuff up like crazy. In October when we left San Juan and ended in Miami, we did not need a passport. The person who suggested you'd need a passport to start in California and end in Florida is really confused. There's no such cruise. It's a violation of the Jones Act. Please don't provide people misinformation.

  3. Grab some ear plugs. The doors all have vents so all rooms are noisy.

Take a blow dryer. Those poor sad blow dryers don't do much good.

Be ready to party. The Victory usually does shorter "booze cruises".

It's a nice small boat. The serenity deck is one of the best I've been on.

  4. Nope. You don't need a passport. A friend of mine did our last cruise with just a birth certificate and driver's license just to prove he could. A tone telling you that you need one has never tried it. I always use one for fear of getting left behind. However, YOU DO NOT NEED A PASSPORT WHEN GOING FROM ONE US PORT TO ANOTHER.

  5. I was just there in March during spring break. Heck, I was on a spring break cruise. Atlantis was not crowded and there were not long lines. I got the beach access that allowed me access to everything in the park and the beach except the water rides, lagoons and the pools. It came with a voucher for lunch and I bought it at the Atlantis desk. It's definitely worth seeing. We will be there again in January and are looking at doing the Comfort Suites route.

  6. Oops, I forgot what you asked about. They have ATVs on Grand Turk. That might be the place to do that, as the whole island can be seen by ATV. For my peace of mind, I never para sail or zip line outside of the US, so if it's possible to do that in Puerto Rico, I'd go that way.

  7. If it's your first time, in San Juan and Grand Turk, just go outside of the cruise terminal and catch a tour bus. In San Juan there will be a bunch of guys there trying to fill there busses. Go with the one that is the best talker and has the fullest bus. They won't start their tour until the bus is mostly full. I think it was $20 last fall. It takes you all over San Juan and shows you and tells you about historic stuff. They stop long enough to take pictures most places. They take you back to the cruise port, but I got off up at the fort to explore. Then I walked back down the hill through old San Juan. I wanted to see the architecture. It's very cool. I still had lots of time, so I went to the trolley stop near the pier (stop #1) and then rode the trolley around Old San Juan for free.

At Grand Turk, I just got off the boat and went out to the shopping area. There's a kiosk that offers different things. I took a bus tour of the island for $20. They wait for enough people to fill the bus, but you get to see everything on the island. I got off at Governor's Beach and spent the rest of my day there. They have good facilities there. You could walk back to the pier from there, but I caught one of the busses when it came through. The come by pretty frequently.

  8. A 2 week cruise was the reason I started using gel polish. I got tired of having it done, so I bought the stuff and have been doing it myself for nearly a year. They look beautiful every day and easily last at least 2 weeks. The only reason I need to do them is when my nails grow out.

  9. Have the concern that she knew she was sick and still went to hang out in the sauna and spa where germs would be spread more readily than anyplace

Ace on the ship I bet they called her typhoid Mary when she finally left.

  11. If you're willing to walk that far, it won't be a problem. We did it last year going from the Carnival Liberty to the Carnival Victory. That was a hike. I'd imagine to the other terminal would really be a hike. Depends on luggage. My cousin had a bad shoulder so I was handling the copious amounts of luggage. Needless to say I needed a shower. A taxi might not be a bad idea. I'd tip we'll so he doesn't hate that he's losing his place in line for a pitiful fare.

  12. I've stayed at the Hyatt and the Intercontinental downtown. They Both have great service. The Intercontinental overlooks the port. You can watch your ship dock in the morning. Check out Hotwire and Priceline.

  13. They have them for $27, but I found for that price it was more convenient to take the Carnival Bus back to The airport. I booked it while on the ship. I

They put it on my sail &sign account. Very convenient.

  14. I use a prepaid credit card for all of my vacation stuff. I put the cash into the account over the months preceding vacation with the amount on there I want to spend, plus a little cushion.
