  1. Hi:

I went with a Guarantee balcony for December 2, 2017 sailing and got assigned 1545 which is under the fitness spa. Location is fine, but wondering if there would be noise from the spa does anyone know. We were told we could change cabins if others are available. Just wondering about the noise as we are happy with the location. Thanks for any input.

  2. I am looking at an Indy 5 day for the first week in December and have never cruised during this time period. It seems unusual that most balconies available are Guaranty Only and only a few are listed as available where they tell you the room number. I have never encountered that before though I haven't cruised Royal in three years. I can't figure out if it means they are only a few cabins left or if it means they are trying to make it appear if there are only a few cabins left. Thanks, Pam

  3. I have been on the Epic, Oasis and the Allure. I really enjoyed the Epic and we had a wonderful time. The Oasis class ships, however, are ships you can go on again and again and never get bored. I'm thinking about my third Oasis class ship but really have no desire to go on Epic again unless there is an itinerary I really want to do and there is a can't say no price.

  4. Don't shoot the messenger about the gym, it's DH not me, lol. He's a weirdo, what can I say. He enjoys spending time at a gym instead of snorkeling. He has worked out 6 days a week ever since I meet him when he was in his teens and he is now in his 60s. Me personally, I think he's nuts but I guess it's better than being an alcoholic so I don't complain. He likes the gyms of RCI which were better than land gyms he says. We cruise for the gym (him) food and casino and of course the warm weather. We like to sit at the beach. I was just wondering if other HAL ships had better gyms than the Eurodam. I see the answer to my question is no. I don't think that will stop us though really. Thanks for your responses!

  5. We took a cruise and loved the food and the ship except the gym was horrible. DH loved the gym but I won't get him to take another HAL cruise (other than the Eurodam Malt Shop Cruise) unless there is another ship out there with a better gym. Are all the gyms on HAL that bad or are there other ships out there with more state of the art and up to date equipment? Thanks for any input.

  6. I have been on the Epic and the Allure and Oasis and I would pick the Epic for this trip because I would assume the ship is not the destination this time. The money you save you can use for excursions. I personally think the food on the Epic was better than the Allure. If you are going to do the entertainment both are good and different, but good. If you have never been on NCL you might enjoy the change.

  7. I was on this cruise also so I will give you my take. This was our 6th RCC cruise and we have been on both the Oasis and the Allure. We were reimbursed for the missed port and were quite pleased with it. We understand these things happen. Everyone we met on the cruise who worked there was wonderful to us. Our waiters were great, the people walking around always saying hi and how are you and our room attendant was wonderful to us. We cruise Royal for the gym for my husband (which did not disappoint) and the casino (which also was so much fun). Both of these we enjoyed better than the Allure and the Oasis. I will admit that the food wasn't the greatest but we enjoyed it very much. My husband thought it was fantastic. We went on the Holland America in November and the food was way above Royal but the casino and the gym were very sub par compared to Royal. We cannot compare the entertainment as we went on the Malt Shop Cruise which is a specialty cruise. As far as the entertainment on the Liberty as compared to the Oasis and the Allure, the ice show was the best I've ever seen and the Headliner was better on the Liberty. We enjoyed this Liberty cruise better than the Oasis and Allure. So I guess it just shows that everyone is different. The weather was beautiful and the ship didn't rock so that to me was great. We did the My Time Dinning and that went over wonderful.

  8. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. I consider cruises my beach vacation and usually do Caribbean cruises. For a trip like that I would rather take the land trip. I want to eat the food of the country and meet the people and stay in the country not on a cruise ship . Just my opinion.

  9. I have been on the Oasis and the Allure and don't be fooled, they can rock with the best of them. If it's windy and you are in a Boardwalk balcony it will definitely rock as I have experienced first hand. Take the patch because once the seasickness starts it can't be stopped so why risk it. You should always alternate the left and the right part of the neck. Have a great cruise!!

  10. Hi: I went on the Malt Shop Cruise last year and we absolutely loved it!! Best cruise ever because of the entertainment. Loved everything about it. There are concerts, but also there are live interviews you can attend and the stars are very accessible. The music is playing everywhere and it was funny to see the crew humming the songs that they probably never heard before, lol. Every night there are different activities, beach party, prom, costume party, etc. There were probably ten Elvis impersonators, concerts on the pool deck, I could go on and on. You actually feel like you are back in that time period. It is too amazing to describe. We also thought that the food was fabulous. We really enjoyed it. Better than the food on both RCI and NCL. We did not like the gym as it wasn't the best and the casino was just okay. We have already booked for next year and it was worth every penny. We paid almost $6000.00 but my DH has always loved the music from this era and the stars won't be around for ever. I wouldn't hesitate. :)

  11. Hi: We are doing a five day cruise on the Liberty at the end of February. Usually we stay after the cruise 2-3 days and stay near the beach. This time, however, we are taking an early flight the next day so just need a hotel for the night. One part of me says, stay near the beach so you can enjoy it one last time, but the other part says, you will be so tired, just get to a hotel near the airport, have a nice dinner and get to bed early and save money on both the hotel and cab ride. I figure by the time we get off the ship (we take our time and get off late and eat breakfast) and get to the hotel and check in the day will be half over anyway. What would you do? Thanks for any advice. I'm leaning towards the hotel near the airport if I can save money. Any good ones anyone can recommend? Thanks for any incite!!

  12. Hi: I want to look for a hotel in Dania Beach for one day pre cruise as I understand the area is not only convenient to the port but also to the Hard Rock Casino where we want to spend the day. I want to go on one of the bidding sites, but was interested in what is the best timing to get the best pricing. (approximately) I need the room for Sunday February 22. I have already booked a cancelable room in case things fall through. Thanks for any advice.

  13. I am looking to book the Liberty of the Seas on February 23 for a five day cruise. Looking for the lowest priced balcony. Do you think the Wow Sale prices are good or should I just wait until it's over. Yesterday there was a guarantee balcony shown for sale, but today it is gone. Price right now is about $1200 with the Wow sale, $200.00 credit and taxes and fees. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!!

  14. I just took my first cruise on the Eurodam (Malt Shop Cruise). Everything was fantastic, but it is funny that you talk about the room stewart as perhaps we had the same one. I did not get the mini bar restocked, or ice at night and he was very cold and standoffish. Not what I have been use to. That being said, everything else was the best ever and I can't wait to go on the ship again! My new favorite cruise ship!!

  15. After looking at the Dawn and the Breakaway, there didn't seem much difference in price but ultimately I have decided on the Dawn for a few reasons. I live in Mass, so that's a benefit of traveling, we are active in our early 60s but still not interested in planks, watersides, etc, and the shows seem to be something we would like. We do like the casino so I am hoping the Dawn has a good one.

Anyway, the price of the August 29th cruise and the September 5th cruise is quite a difference (the Sept. 5th much higher) I would think there would be more kids on the August 29th cruise because of the holiday therefore more demand and the prices would come down after Labor Day. Maybe I am missing something. I haven't booked yet and wonder now that I don't have to worry about a flight if there is a time to get the best price. What is the latests anyone has booked? Thanks, Pam

  16. Hi I had a Boardwalk balcony on the Oasis in 2010 and also the Allure November 2013. This time on the Allure I didn't enjoy it as much as it was very noisy during the day when they were rehearsing at the Aqua Theatre. I think they were also rehearsing for a new show, but I'm not sure, but it was often and loud. It would of defintely interfered with napping. Also when they put movies on the large screen TV one night it was also very loud where I couldn't sleep and the funny thing was hardly anyone was watching it. I would not stay in this location with a 2 and 4 year old. I would not stay in this location again myself. It was very noisy. Also, the ship is huge and with young children you would be better off staying somewhere in the middle for convenience.

  17. Fantastic Post. I too am a vegan but when i cruised on the Oasis I switched to vegetarian (though as little as possible). I did eat the mashed potatoes and cookies and I didn't realize there was an option to get soy milk!! They did have alot of options, however, especially in the solarium. The marinera sauce with the steamed veggies is a great option also. Thanks for the pictures also, yum.
