It's so inconvenient that they bury this information in a dark corner of the website, instead of on the actual Camp Ocean page. I remembered seeing it before, but couldn't find it again. Thanks so much, I'll be sure to bookmark it this time 🙂
I printed it off and have it saved too 🙂

Carnival should be better about ensuring guests at the pier in a scooter are in an accessible cabin or they're not getting on the ship unless their scooter by some miracle will fit in their standard room. The hallways are narrow enough as it is, especially with the steward carts and trays etc in the hallways. Park somebody's bariatric scooter in the hallway and nobody's getting through.
Unfortunately, not everyone is aware that they may need a scooter after booking their cruise and HC cabins may not be available. what's with this "Bariatric Scooter" stuff???? there are other reasons people use a scooter...degenerative bone disease, surgery after a motor vehicle accident etc.

Well it seems to me that you had your mind made up that you are going to park the scooter outside the room and wanted people to tell you that was OK.
You are totally incorrect. But thanks for your opinion.

Thank you to those who provided non-snarky, non-rude and/or non-judgmental comments. We are looking into other options besides moving to a fully handicapped accessible room.

Based on your post, it sounds like you have this question to answer: Who are you going to believe - the company that makes and enforces the rules or the company that is trying to sell you the scooter?
Having seen scooters in the hallway multiple times, I highly doubt "the company that makes and enforces the rules" is actually doing anything about them.

So I am getting conflicting information from Carnival and Scootaround. BF is eligible for a scooter from the VA that is too wide to fit through the doors of our cabin for our October cruise.
When I called Carnival this morning, I was told we cannot leave the scooter outside our cabin. However, the woman I spoke with today from Scootaround said that Carnival will allow you to park the scooter outside your room (remove battery so it can't be moved). On previous cruises, I have seen scooters in the hallways. Which is it?
Please do not share Carnival's policy, I already read it and I spoke with a representative today. Also, please don't tell me to get a handicap accessible room. We don't need all the other amenities that come with an HA room and we don't want an aft cabin. We selected our specific cabin for specific reasons prior to the need of a scooter.

Is your daughter booked with Carnival under the name on her passport? If not, if she is booked as Selena Jones (married name), but her passport says Selena Smith (maiden name)? If so, the check-in system will probably alert, and a check-in supervisor may have to become involved.
Always best to have your passport in your current legal name, or at least book your cruise under your legal name, and not your social name.
She's booked under her married name. We are going to take her birth cert, marriage cert, current PP and DL. If I need to check her in using her DL, I can do that since it's in her married name.

My daughter never changed her name on her passport when she got married. Can we just bring her PP, marriage cert and DL? (out of Port Canaveral)

Does anyone know where muster station C is on the Liberty?

Our family of 5 (including a 2 year old) is scheduled for the Elation in October. I called this morning to ask about canceling and was told if I cancel today, then I would not get a full refund (both cabins are paid in full). Hopefully an announcement about October will come early next week so we can cancel and get our $$ back.

Is this new development for all the remaining 2021 cruises or just the first few? We are booked for a family (daughter, SIL, 2 year old grandson, me and BF) cruise in October 2021 (booked and paid for before COVID).

Still looking for a response: any idea if a 2 year old is considered in the number of people for the Cabanas??

My BF has had multiple hip surgeries since his motorcycle accident and has spinal stenosis. I just want to be prepared in case he needs to be standing for awhile. The muster stations for our last few cruises on Carnival and NCL were indoors so that he can sit.

Is muster station 10 on the Majesty handicapped accessible?

I prefer Grills as well. Love the bacon wrapped scallops with brown sugar carrots and wild rice!
You can also buy a day pass to Jetty Park (past Grills) and spend time at the beach. There is also (if I remember correctly) a small snack shack there as well

FYI....If anyone plans on going to Grills for breakfast, they only until it until 10:30. And...the cranberry walnut french toast and the seafood omelette are the BOMB!

This will be our first Royal cruise (have been on other cruise lines) and really wanted the Key West/Cuba itinerary. The switch to Nassau isn't ideal, but with the 50% refund we were able to purchase the drink package so I guess that could be considered a WIN 🍹😝

We always do offsite parking 5 min from the port. Park n Go they have a veterans site with an excellent price for parking. Shuttles are nice and fast. Waiting to a minimum. Veterans, Lots of Honor $8.95 a day. Parking there for many years. Never a problem. No need to walk from the parking garage to the ship. Especially if it is raining. Just a suggestion.
The Lots of Honor that was on US 1 is closed. (I drive past it every day)

If you don't see the option to book online just call them to book. I, and many others, ran in to this same issue in the past few months.
very true! the Spa passes were showing up on my account up until the 90th day for our 1/27 Escape trip. I had to call to book.
-
Nope - 7 day cruise = 7 days of parking
so is there tax on the $22 per day? Or just a straight $154 for 7 days???
I've heard it's cash only. Is that correct?

what about finding a handicapped spot?

The bathroom situation was the main reason that we did not book an Epic cruise even though we live so close to the Port.
Hotels?
in New Orleans

I am new at looking for hotels in New Orleans. We are thinking a few days after a cruise in April 2024. We would need something that is handicapped accessible (BF uses a scooter for long distances) and somewhat close to Bourbon Street. Not looking to break the bank :). Suggestions?
