  1. I don't think I can change a Royal Up room.  I was surprised she even got it as the ship has been sold out for weeks now.  Hopefully it will be ok.  Being the basketball court hopefully there won't be any nighttime noise.  Wondering how early noise does start though.  It's her 21st birthday cruise so I know she will be drinking.  She may end up waking up to pounding in her head from basketballs rather than drinking.....lol.

  2. My daughter just received a Royal UP acceptance which moved her from an interior room at the front of the ship (8549) to a Boardwalk Balcony room (14707).  I just noticed her new room seems to be under the basketball courts.  I was wondering what the noise would be like from this room.  Obviously going from an interior to a balcony room is a definate upgrade, just not sure if I need to tell her to bring ear plugs.

  3. Ugh!  I'm really worried about this.  We have a party of 13 as well.  I made our dinner reservations for 6:15 MTD way back last July and then made our show reservations for 8:30pm.  A couple of days ago I emailed RC Dining to make sure they had us all linked and had the reservation and the cake I ordered for my daughters 21st birthday (which is the first day of the cruise).......they had us all linked but didn't have the reservation.  I forwarded all my confirmations.  The response I received was "Please be advised your request has been noted.  Tables in My Time Dining venue are not pre-assigned before embarkation day.  Please visit out My Time Dining Host onboard to get your table assigned."  By "noted" does that mean they put us down in their system at 6:15pm as a party of 13.  And they never mentioned if they received the cake order.  This wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't a milestone birthday on the first day.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes, but the point is that MTD does not start until 6:30 on the Harmony now, so showing up at 5 or 5:15 is pointless. The Compass on earlier cruises still said 5:15 but now clearly states 6:30 as per the edition posted on Royal Caribbean blog website. The best case scenario is that the policy is changed for our cruise in 2020.

If it helps, I have MTD reserved for my group on Harmony of the Seas sailing June 30, 2019 and all our dinner reservations are for 5:45.  I did reserve our times almost a year prior.

  5. I was looking for some activity I could get for all the ladies in my group to do together.  I thought maybe the "Wines Around the World" tasting.  There are 7 ladies in my group, two 21 year olds a few 30-40 and one 76 year old.  I thought a ladies activity would be fun surprise, but didn't want to spend a whole lot.  Has anyone tried the Wines Around the World tasting?  Any other suggestions?

Came back from Mariner cruise on Monday and we had Chill Island Cabana #2.  We enjoyed it very much.  There is a Cabana attendant, Linda.  She provides menus and takes your lunch orders and brings lunch back to you at the time you select.  Also brings drinks as well.  The Cabana was very comfortable and so close to the water.  The Cabana had some bottles of Evian water in a cooler and two floaty mats.  I believe you can have 8 people designated for these Cabanas.
We saw some of the island but not all.  There is PLENTY to do that is at no cost. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas.  There is a free pool and also a lagoon with chairs and umbrellas which are all set up for you before you arrive at no cost.  When we were there they had no trams around the island, just from the pier to the shore.  Very lacking for those who are mobility challenged as has been mentioned before.  I believe as they get their stuff together that there will be a tram similar to Labadee. .

What kind of food/beverage was on the menus?

I don't think you will get anywhere with Royal once a booking is after final payment date.  However, you may find that an upgrade is possible for little or no extra cost.

Yeah, I thought that I would get an upgrade opportunity because to upgrade to the next category up was only $120 (the price difference in his current room is $463) but they wouldn't let me do that either.  I even tested them to see if they would let me pay the difference but the answer was the same, no.   Oh well, guess you win some and lose some.

  8. My friends and family would like to go from the cruise ship and take the water taxi over to Philipsburg.  We were thinking of shopping first and then getting beach chairs somewhere on Great Bay Beach off the Boardwalk.  We would like to find a restaurant that offers beach chairs rental that includes drinks and will let you just order food from your chair.  I've heard Lazy Lizard as a suggestion but thought I would ask here as Lazy Lizard is the only suggestion I've heard.

Found this awesome video that shows most of the different cabanas

So the Chill Island cabanas aren't the same cabanas that were already there?  The ones in this video are different, without the little deck for the 2 lounge chairs.  They look more like the bungalows.

  10. We are cruising with Royal Caribbean late June on Harmony which I'm told docks at Crown Bay.  I was told no other beach in St. Thomas/St. John compares to Trunk Bay.  Looks like we are docked from 12pm-8pm.  What is the quickest/cheapest/easiest way to get to Trunk Bay from Crown Bay?  OR   Is there a beach on the St. Thomas side that is comparable?
