You are in luck! My sistah (Laura a.k.a. Divetrash) will be on our sailing! This is going to be an amazing week!
Joanne
Sounds like the piano bar will fill quickly on our Nov sailing!
Excited about Ron Pass..will be my first time with him as the piano man.

:D:D:D
Yeah, I've gotten a good 13 hours in it already. A sick day will help with that. It is pretty awesome though.
Work is a lot busier than I expected today as we have some visitors in from overseas and I'm still playing catch up from being out yesterday. I'll try to get to Belize this afternoon since it was a pretty chill day and should be kinda short.
Hi Chris, Erman went top pick up his copy of ME3 on Tuesday and his car died on the way over to Best Buy! :( He finally got it last night!
What kind of underwater camera did you use?
-
Good luck with that ;)
Captain Red Frog can be very persuasive! lol!
Is that what you call your drink Chris, the Captain and Red Frog together? I will have to try one!
-
At the end of this hall on the right was one of the dance clubs, Hot and Cold. Chris doesn't dance so this was the only time I stepped inside.
That will change in November on the Breeze! :D

Anyone know how much longer they are on the Magic and where they might be afterwards?
Bloodpower is awesome!

I think on one cruise I ordered 2 tails, usually I only order one. What I really like is the shrimp that they serve with the lobster. I wonder if they would just let me order a plate full of that yummy shrimp? Has anyone tried that?
I also like the shrimp! Almost more than the lobster. :o

ardnassac79s video was great and helped me decide on #10 instead of #5. Thanks for sharing.:D
We had 10 and 11 in Sept....loved them both.

We just got off the Victory Sept 25th and I believe this is the worst Piano Player and Singer that I have ever heard. There were a couple nights the place wasnt even open. He sounded like he was hoarse so I asked him if he was feeling allright and he said he felt fine but know one would sit down and listen to him.
I cannot believe that Jerry Seelix is still in Piano Bars.I agree that he was the absolute worse.
Besides being incredibly hoarse 100% of the time, he would ask for requests, the few people in there would throw out a song, he would say he didnt know that one, then offer up to play something instrumental.
 He was awful.

Thanks pmoniz-:) This will be my second time to Grand Turk and regardless of what we do we probably wont spend much time at Margaritaville. Last year we took a cab to the Bohio Dive Resort, saw a bit of the island, and took an excursion to Gibbs Cay. My girls and I are well traveled (land trips to Honduras, Panama, Mexico, Senegal, etc.) so we're covered on seeing other ways of living.
But I do like the idea of giving back to local businesses....if anything maybe we will just hit Jacks for the day and get massages at Spa Anani.

I just want to say that I used this thread to find information on what to do in Grand Turk. I called Nathans and reserved a cart for the day we were in port. I was treated very nice buy the person on the other end of the phone, my reservation was waiting for me when I arrived, and the whole cart rental went smooth as butter.
Now, I am also inclined to say that it was a total waste of money too. I, along with my wife and 2 children rode that thing around for a few hours, and saw NOTHING but poverty. (I know it's to be expected) I thought Grand Turk was the worst island I have ever visited in the Caribbean. There is simply NOTHING to do there.
With that said, I hope everyone else is treated as we were, which was pleasantly.
360-Thanks! I had also been wondering if it is worth the $80+gas for a few hours. Not so much concerned about the poverty but just the simple fact of the sighseeing aspect of it...not much there. I know that much of the island is still recovering from a hurricane as well. No big deal and it sounds fun..zipping around on a cart, but not sure I want to spend the $$ to do it. We may just pass and hang at the beach especially since we pull into port at 7am.

I saw the map on post #29...great! I did a copy/paste to a word doc.
Last year we grabbed a cab to Bohio Dive Resort, which I see is about half-way up the map from the cruise port...didn't seem like that long of a drive.
I'd like to see some sights on the island and still spend a couple of hours at Jacks.
How long would it take, say, to get to the Lighthouse? via golf cart.

I do not know if RCCL was the first to offer a "Chefs Tables" concept event, and I may be very biased, but it seems that when Carnival tries to copy something from RCCL it does not exactly come out the same.
FRL
Just wondering...in your statement if you dont know if RCCL was the first to offer it, how do you know Carnival copied it?

What are the other two?
I just talked to my PVP and she says the Steakhouse Selecitons are now available in the MDR on all ships without a seperate steakhouse.
-
The Paradise has the Steakhouse Selections as well, for $18. Well worth it.

That's really not true. While there is wine served with dinner, it's by no means the focal point of the meal. In fact I've had more wine, and more varieties of wines, at restaurants in NYC offering "tasting menus". Just my humble opinion.Don't know what you mean as all we were asked whether we wanted White or Red. Brand/year was never mentioned. I drank sparkling water another had a coke and the wife drank coffee.
Agreed on the wine.....not pairings by any means. Wine in abundance yes, but not a focal point. My boyfriend ended up getting Blue Moon.

Interesting. We're booked in a few days on the Triumph and I'm really looking forward to it, but then again I'm a foodie :p I don't feel the need to eat everything, and there's no rule that says I have to clean every plate they set in front of me, though I've decided that I will try a bite of it all, even the stuff that I wouldn't normally eat. I like the idea of it being an experience - not just a meal.
I've read that they have stopped passing out the cookbooks entirely, not sure if that's true or not but it's quite possible. I'd like to have it even if it's outdated and may ask as they were included when we booked.
I tried the Chefs Table for the reasons you noted here...taste and enjoy, pace yourself and enjoy the experience!
I did it in April and got a cookbook...not sure when they might have discontinued that or if its just on some ships and not others.

I have never seen any coupons or promo codes. There is no place to put in a promo code when you try to book excursions on line.
When I booked a cabana for HMC last week, there was a spot for Apply Promotion code.

Just back from Carnival Liberty, we had cabana #6 (purple). It was wonderful. close to the restrooms and food. The ship bar was not a nuisance, I could barely hear the music from the cabana. No problems with squatters. I did notice that the shower for#6 is actually on the deck platform. Other cabanas there was a separation of the shower and the deck. It was perfect for us.
I had #6 last Aug! It was great!
Might try to grab a lower # cabana in Sept...closer to the water play area.

Does anyone know if there is a childs rate for the Oasis?
-
I've also heard of waiting til the last few tenders with the crew and there isnt much of a line at all.
-
I see ton of great advice here already posted. But FWIW, I would wait until they are on break. My DD is a Freshman Pre-Med at Seattle University..they are on the quarter system so a week off would be HUGE in terms of missed work.
Her birthday falls in Nov and as much as I'd like to take her on a trip for her 21st birthday ON her birthday 2 years from now, she cannot miss school for that.

Jack's is about a 10 minute walk down the beach from Margaritaville. If you're on the ship looking at Grand Turk, Margaritaville is in front of the ship (in the cruise center) and Jack's will be to the left of Margaritaville and right before the smaller pier.
Great thanks!

Would it be fairly easy to bounce between Jacks and M'Ville? I went to M'Ville last year but didnt get to see the distance to Jacks as we left for an excursion.
Just asking in case we want to eat/drink at Jacks and maybe take a dip in the pool at MVille.
