  1. DD has purchased suits from Torrid. Fit really well. She looked better than the 'skinny young things' she hangs out with :p. She returned them to her local store with no issue at all. They also launder nicely. We cold wash and air dry.

+1 for Torrid - bought one over the week-end.

  2. For the first time, after 18 cruises, we are letting Carnival assign our cabin. We did this because of the super deal. Selecting a room was not an option with the special price.

The price was too good to pass. We got a 6 day cruise for $329 PP out of Charleston in Oct.

I was wondering is anyone on CC has experience with Carnival selecting the cabin for you. When do you find out the cabin number?

We did the same thing for our upcoming cruise on the Triumph.

    sail date May 9, 2016

Booked end of Feb. 2016 inside guarantee 2 rooms.

We rec. our room assignment yesterday. 27 days before sailing.

    Rooms assigned were 4A.

Inside Riveria Deck 1418 - 2 twins (king) 1 Pullman

Inside Rivera Deck 1426 - 2 twins (king)

Just got off the Fascination today. Had a great 5 day cruise. Wife and I took our only daughter on college spring break. There were 1600 college kids on this cruise. 200 parents. 400 other.

Embarkation: We did NOT have FTTF. When I arrived at 11:30, the line was out of the building. The line went thru very quickly. I don’t think I was in line much over 30 minutes.

The room, U230 Aft Extended Balcony, was clean. The curtains did have several holes from cigarettes. This was our first balcony, and we really used it.

We enjoyed our traditional dinning at 6PM. I will not be interested in any cruise that has the “American Table.” Playing dress up and eating the formal meal is what we like about cruising.

The Lido buffet had good food too. I like the deli wrap for lunch.

Our stop at Half Moon Cay was canceled due to winds. We did have stops at Nassau and Freeport. All we did was some quick shopping.

The ship was clean and in good repair. One atrium elevator was broken he entire trip.

There were no issues with unruly spring breakers (although, they were everywhere!) The first day any spot on any deck had a kid lying out (it was real, real windy too). All the chairs were taken early and everyone else was on a towel. Any nook and cranny deck spot had a kid. I was very surprised to see almost all the kids dressed nicely for dinner. On elegant night many had on a jacket. Most girls were in a cocktail type of dress every night.

We had a very positive experience. I just wanted to share some pics.

All of your photos are stunning ! 👍

  4. Hello all,

I just wanted to ask everyone if they had more information about a destination wedding with carnival cruise lines. I'm looking to book one about a year in advance and I wanted to know what I would actually be able to plan and what is planned for you. I want to be able to add my own personal touches to the wedding and reception but wasn't sure if this is possible. I would also like to meet with a wedding planner in person. In the research I've done I only saw where you can talk to a planner on the phone.i would greatly appreciate any tips, reviews, or any information anyone can give me about a destination wedding or port wedding for carnival cruise. Thank you!!! :)

We did a port destination wedding in 1994 (long time ago). We were on a Carnival cruise that included St Thomas. I researched destination weddings online & contacted them per telephone.

We were married at Bluebeards Castle. Our reception was only 6 people (bride/groom, our 2 best friends, wedding planner and minister). Everything worked out perfect.

  5. Great start! Hope you had a great time😀

Hey folks! This is Trish and I'm waiting to debark the Carnival Ecstasy after a fun filled and very special cruise! I'm gonna take a crack at a review!

First, I'd like to say SORRY! to anyone who was on board with me and had to deal with the wheelchair. If I crashed into you, I'm super sorry. If you crashed into me because I stopped suddenly, please forgive me!

Second, this was a very special cruise. It was not only my mom's 60th birthday but it was her first ever REAL vacation! That's right folks, I had a cruise virgin on my hand!

Here's the monkey wrench! My mom has mobility limitations! She has a slew of health problems. Her gait can be unsteady at times and painful over long distances! She's not had to walk a lot in a long time. Lucky lady she is, she has me at home to take care of her! Shopping trips for her are exhausting and painful and are about the most walking she does. She does use a cane but we thought it better and safer for all to use a wheelchair for the cruise.

Watch out, though! I'm a new driver on this thing! We really should have done a few dry runs with the wheelchair but how hard could it be?

Really hard! I had a few issues but we worked it out.

First, the players! Hi! I'm Trish. I'm 27 years old and I'm a dispatcher and EMT! I've been cruising at least once a year since 2011, twice in 2014 and if all goes to plan twice in 2016! Mostly on Carnival, a few on Royal and at the end of the year I'm taking the plunge into Norwegian!

This is my lovely mother. She turned 60 on embarkation day. She raised me as a single mother and always put my needs in front of her own and because of this she never got the chance to treat herself to a vacation. She has multiple medical issues and was cautious but excited! The first issue we had to tackle was her insulin! My mom takes levamir once a day and I was flipping out over how we were going to keep it cool! Turns out per their website it's good out of refrigeration for up to 42 days once opened! Unless we get lost at sea we are good! Phew!

Carnival does offer medi coolers but requires a 70 dollar deposit, yikes! That's cruising money!

I booked this cruise a week before Mother's Day last year with the intention of revealing it on Mother's Day but my excitement was too much. 25 minutes after booking, I texted my mom a screen shot of the cruise schedule. "Okay?" "We're going on a cruise!" "Ok." WHAT?!?

Apparently she was in shock. The count down was loooooong but we made it!

Our vacation started January 31st with the four hour drive from Orlando to Miami! I'd booked a hotel so my mom didn't have to wake up at 6am on her birthday. I worked til 1230 and zoomed home to grab her and zoom off to Miami!
