  1. Obviously I didn't make myself clear on my previous inquiry. Carnival has a new on board booking program that is being implemented gradually fleetwide. It is similar to those already in place on Princess and HAL. Goes something like this: A reduced deposit of $100 per person and a $50 per person on board credit for any 7 cruise booked while on board a Carnival cruise. You don't even have to specify which cruise, in which case the booking would be "open", or some would call a "ghost" booking. Bookings are transferable to one's own TA at any time. This program is already available on several ships. I'd like to know if it has been implemented on the Legend as yet.

  2. I understand that the location of the rooms are different, but what is the difference in the locations? Why would 1 room be a different price than another even if they are on the same deck?

Because HAL believes that cabins located on higher decks are more desirable so they can charge more. Apparently they are right because they charge and receive more money for those cabins. There are some of those cabins that have extended balconies which IMHO would justify a little higher price. Otherwise I chose the cabin I want on the lowest deck on which they are located simple because they are cheaper and there is less movement on those decks. Also, the closer to the middle of the ship, the more desirable the cabin is, according to the cruise line, therefore justifying a higher price. For those susceptible to motion sickness, those cabins are definitely more desirable!.

  3. We actually made the bedding arrangements after dinner each evening, then put everything back in it's place before we left for breakfast in the morning. I don't think the cabin steward even knew we were doing it, lol. TV locatoion was never a problem for us. I'll see if I can post more pics. Bathroom is located on the inside wall all the way aft. Yes I do intend to write a review; it's currently a work in progress. The shower is a standard size shower, no fold down seat.

  4. I've cruised just about all times of the year, from 1 three day cruise, but mostly 7 days. Haven't sailed on Celebrity, but HAL, in my experience typically has the fewest kids. I sailed once in the middle of Oct on the Ryndam and there were fewer than a dozen on the entire ship, my then 14 year old being one of them. Having said that, there will always be fewer kids when schools are typically in session; also on longer cruises, 10 days or longer, numbers will be very low.

In case any are tempted to feel sorry for my 14 year old on the Ryndam cruise, she remembers it as the best of all of her 21 cruises. My guess is because the entire youth staff devoted so much time to interacting with her. Guess they had little else to do, lol.
