Hi all,
First, I have done a couple of searches and can't find an answer to my question.
I am planning our first Celebrity cruise. I've nailed it down to a December 7 (Silhouette) departure date or a December 13 (Reflection) departure date. I prefer the 12/7 date, but a friend we're traveling with really wants the ship to be in "full Christmas decorated mode".
I have two questions for all you Celebrity veterans: No. 1, Will the ship be fully decorated by December 7? No. 2, we're looking for an inside cabin directly across from a regular balcony cabin. Any advice on where to locate or where to stay away from?
Thanks!!

On our cruise on the Crown in January, one of our table mates was turned away for wearing "dress" shorts. I thought it was nice to see Princess enforce the dress code, although the gentleman in the shorts looked better than the young lady in sweat pants that didn't get turned away!

Never mind... just saw the "Announcement". Sorry!

This is normally something I would do a search for, but there is no search feature anymore, or they've moved it and I can't find it????
Also what happened to the New Posts feature where you got all the most recent posts across all the boards?
I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but I've missed it. Anyone want to fill me in? :o

You lost me at spousal unit... all I could picture was Rosie on the Jetsons!

I attended an Ultimate Ship Tour on Saturday and I wanted to address something that Princess requests of all people that take the tour - showing respect to the officers that we meet.
The first paragraph of this post stood out more to me than any of the others. What a sad statement about our society that people actually have to request that you show respect... Shouldn't respect just be a given?
Oh, and my husband and I would both love to do the UST, but then we'd have to figure out how to pack two robes and two chef's jackets and two of whatever else is involved to get it home!

Your photos are by far the best I've ever seen on CC!! I see some photo contest wins in your future!
I also agree the port side balcony is best for Glacier Bay. We were on Baja, and since it was drizzly the day we were there, I was very glad for the covered balcony.

We got in up to our knees last January... too cold for us!

Just breezed through this thread. Who would have ever thought a post about broken chairs would turn so nasty:eek:!
I haven't been spending much time on this board lately, I hope this isn't becoming the "norm"!

I am a wine girl and rarely try anything else... however, last cruise in the Caribbean I ordered a Charlotte Amalie Iced Tea... yum!!!

Another vote for Cosol! I would love to do his tour again, but we didn't have quite enough time at Jalousie, so we are going straight there next time around.

They Cancelled the Chef's Table as Well?
I'll have to add that to my list. Princess ought to refund some of our money.
Hopefully you're joking about any refund. If you're not joking, well, then good luck with that one!

A couple of years ago we experienced this on a 15 day round-trip LA to Hawaii.
It was slightly inconvenient for the passengers, but a TON more work for the crew.
They don't do this to ruin your cruise. They do this so that you can keep enjoying your cruise. Would you rather be confined for several days sick as a dog?? If not for their "Draconian" measures, chances are you and MANY more would have really had a miserable cruise.

Ultimately, I don't think anyone really bothered keeping track of who "won" the game, but several of the groups got quite a few of these. If there's interest I might even post the whole list.
I would love to see the whole list. I cruise with a group of friends and this sounds like something we could have a lot of fun with!

I agree with PA, I didn't think she was that bad either. The worst thing I thought about her was that her "enthusiasm" came across as rather "forced".
Of course, the CD is rather far down on my list of priorities of what makes a good cruise.

Is that door in the picture of the pool deck right outside of A746? That would be great. We have this cabin for 35 nights Singapore to Vancouver and our friends have A744 so we can open the balcony.
Does any one have any more pictures?
You'll love it. Yes, the door is right by your cabin. The best part of these aft cabins is that you can use the balcony anytime. They are fully covered and you don't get all the wind on the aft. We were in A746 and did the UBD on our way to Hawaii! There was even a full moon! There is no way it could have been any better!! We got a little bit of noise in the mornings when they put out the chairs, but it wasn't bad. I've read where some people hear the door to the pool slamming, but I never heard it that I can recall.

Love this thread.

We've stayed in A746. It was the best cabin we've had to date. If DanJ sees this, he's got some great photos of the balcony. If you do a search, you might find them.

The OP didn't ask about "all other ships". :p
Nope, the OP didn't. And are we going all the way back to December 9, 2009 or today's resurrection of this old post??
Anyway, I was responding to your post that said "All other ships."
I guess I should have known better than to contradict the great and powerful Colo Cruiser;);)!

No the Ruby is the only one with balconies back there.
All the other ships have 2 round port holes.
Talking about Riviera deck not Aloha deck.In response to "All the other ships," I was talking about the top deck;).

No the Ruby is the only one with balconies back there.
All the other ships have 2 round port holes.
Actually the Diamond and Sapphire also have balconies, but of course that would be on the Aloha deck.

I believe this is something sort of "new" as we didn't have this a couple years ago on our Princess Cruise. How do they select the books? Is this something worthwhile to do? We should read: "Tuesdays with Morrie" to discuss on the ship. I remember seeing this on TV, but haven't read the book. Have others done this activity and enjoyed it? Thanks in advance....
Tuesdays with Morrie is a great book. I would recommend reading it regardless of book club or not. Book club would only be a bonus;)!

We ALWAYS use the card. Takes the guess work out of it for the steward, and they have enough work as it is, don't you think????? Geez, would hate to be your steward with that kind of attitude, but possibly you're just having a bad day...
