  1. this was my thing to do when we went. el jibaro, is the plce. if you take the trolley(free) like your are going to el morrow, ask the driver to let you off near the restaurant. omg it was delish, and our waiter was angel from the Bronx great place to eat and reasonable :)

  2. we have parked and stayed at the Radisson for years, after all is said and done the room for the night costs us around $30.00. it gives us an extra day of vacation, and we love the shuttle, no bother. the hotel is really nice too love the people who work there, heated pool music by the pool bar at night, can't go wrong

  3. It's the Radisson, stayed there 15times,we live it.heated pool clean rooms, great staff, and the shuttle crew are tops. You are not going to go wrong staying there.we eat breakfast at Zachary next door.run down the road to public supermarket best hero's in the south.boarsmeat, and a liquor store next door.:)

  4. o.k. so we have booked guarantee many times, and have always been happy, a few times we got outside, once got the ceiling to floor window with a lifeboat in front, I loved it, and one time and only one time on the glory, they gave us a room, but when we got to the dock to check in they said our room had been changed, when we found our room, IT WAS A BACK 6TH FLOR WRAP AROUND BALCONY, dh said lock the door they made a mistake. it was so great, I can't even begin to tell you. good luck life is about adventures :)

  5. oh I don't know the tropical was a great ship. George the mater dee(ha spelling) greated everyone as they came in the dining room. live steel band when you entered the building to embark. live bands in at least three venues. free expresso in the diningroom. great shows EVERY night. oh I don't know past guests were treated special, now if you do a few cruises you get to go to the past guest party, and platinum and above (of which there was none) and you looked to make milestone with 25 cruises not 199 days that they threw in mid stream without even grandfathering those of us who were close into. yeah the tropical was a pretty special ship I think, and the good old days were too

  6. guarantee salary and tips, the company pays witch ever is greater. if the crew member gets more tips than salary they are given the tips, and no salary. i also read that tips are added to commpensate the guaranteed salary. no matter, i will take off the tips, and give cash the same way i have for the last 25 years/ when you go into a restaurant do you go into the kitchen and tip the staff there ??? a TIP is something you give for service rendered. i get a haircut i tip, i take a cab i tip, i go to a restaurant i tip my server. i go to a hotel in mexico, i tip the housekeeper i have had for the week. i don't ask the hotel to put it on my bill every day. this is just my opinion

  7. New question - so I can bring my 2 bottles on per cabin but what if I am doing back to back?? Can I purchase wine at duty free stop and have them hold it until end of cruise and then request it be returned before the next cruise begins - embarkation day???? Seems like this should be allowed since even though b2b you have 2 different booking numbers, etc...Certainly would be nice but probably makes too much sense for the ships to grasp this possibility;)

WE DID B2B ON CARNIVAL, AND WHEN WE CHECKED IN WE SIMPLY TOLD THE GUARD THAT WE WERE B2B, AND HE LET US GO THRU. i know it's carnival, but i would think they would just let this pass

  8. I have a second home in Tarpon Springs Florida and fish /boat with a person who just retired from CCl after many years of service ( his last post was matradee on the Inspiration ) .

We got to talking about pay and he said the head waiters get about 75-80 k a year after all is said and done, good one’s can make more if they take on extra duties such as being in charge of the special events at night ,when they do a Mexican buffet .. things like that. They work very long hrs.

Room steward make half that and work longer hours

I can not confirm it just repeating what “ the Greek” has told me.. I do believe him … but he is a fisherman

tell me is that'GEORGE THE GREEK', he was always our favorite, he used to sit with us and sing (the old greek island songs with my husband). we're greek too, love that man:)
