  1. We booked through our credit card agent and are supposed to get a voucher which, like a gift card, can be used any time, in any amounts, no expiry date and can even be given to our children. (or anyone else!). We were told it would take 6 weeks, but I think it is more than that. If we don't get it by the end of August, I will again contact the credit card agent.

    Yes, Lindsay Hamilton. I couldn't remember her first name.  The first time we saw her she was pregnant with her first child. The second time she had older kids!

    With that attitude the likelihood of someone getting sick might be quite high and everyone quarantined. 

    The elevators are going to be a very big problem , more so than seating in bars, lounges, restaurants, pool ares, theater, etc.

    We cancelled 2 cruises and are still holding one , but, I'm pretty sure it will be cancelled by the cruise line shortly.

    Hard to believe this is happening . 

     

     

    We are allowed max 2 people in our elevators and there is a sign reminding people to respect others who wish to be alone (or with spouse only).

    Everyone wears a mask indoors, but I find the problem is social distancing. People come too close. I feel like I have become antisocial since I began to go grocery shopping, etc, but all I want is for people to keep away. That wouldn't work too well on a cruise!!!

    Sorry to read you were disappointed with Ashley Amber. We first saw her as a member of the cast. Then we saw the Whitney show on two different cruises. I think she has a beautiful voice and a lot of potential. I am glad to hear she is starting to do her own thing. Hopefully, it will improve with experience.

    Wearing a helmet driving a motorcycle is a State Law, voted in by a State Legislature.  In Virginia, for example, it is a State Law, but in South Carolina, it is not, so you are free to wear one if you like, or not to wear one.   🍷

    I don't know much about state laws.

     

    Where I live in Canada, wearing a mask in indoor public places is now a law.

    So what about wearing masks and social distancing?  IMO perhaps a matter of liberty to some and I understand that - but to me a matter of common sense and personal responsibility.  

    According to your definition, it is no more a matter of liberty than being told to wear a seat belt  or a uniform.

     

    Responsible people do what is necessary.

    What does wearing a mask have to do with liberty?

    What about seat belts?

     

    What about drinking and driving?

    What about uniforms?

     

    Some people like to be contrarians. That's about it.  And they are selfish and don't care about others.

    No offense, but this is nonsense.

     

    The only reason people from the US are banned is because others are trying to protect themselves from getting a new surge of Coronavirus. Why would anyone want to vacation in another country right now?  Why would anyone want to get on a plane unless it is for something VERY Important? As long as there are people who refuse to be careful and refuse to wear a mask, we will all have to suffer.

    Over the years I have received  a whole bunch of free prints from them. No idea what I ever did with them!

     

    Thanks to Park West, you can get free bubbly,  Lots of mail at your cabin in case you need recognition! Oh, look, we got mail!

     

    Kidding aside, the best thing about Park West is they have an intro video of the history of art, which is worth watching.

     

    They don't bother me. I can never guess the price of their contest article. ( Neither can I guess the weight of the Tanzanite in the jewellery boutique.

    Private villas offer an environment where you are not sharing spaces with strangers, you can eat out if you want to but you don’t have to...The pool is all yours, no need to reserve sun beds.

     

    If you have worries about Covid, this option is the nearest you can have to a real holiday but keep in control of the number of people you mix with.

    Only problem is the crowded plane and airport!

  12. The only place that I can think of is Malta. We first visited on a cruise. Although I (I,m the planner!) had thought about it, we had never gone there before.  So,, one March, instead of cruising, we spent about 3 weeks in Malta. I must say that for the most part we found it cold (and we are from Canada, which of course is colder!). It was really funny, because some days we wore our winter jackets, scarves, etc. There were many Brits vacationing there...and they were in shorts!  I couldn't believe it!! (Maybe one of you can explain this phenomenon to me!!) But we did love Malta and would return  in a warmer month!  We were at the Westin and loved it.

It comes from Guernsey cows and it is the BEST BUTTER I have ever had. I can almost still taste. We loved it so much we could have just eaten the bread and butter for lunch. 

     

    One more thing. Before you go read, "Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society." It's the story of how these islands (so close to Britain) were occupied by Nazi forces in WWII and how the islanders organized their own type of resistance. There is a movie as well but the book is outstanding.

    The movie is on Netflix. Excellent
