  1. there's no guarantee that the US numbers are accurate. Unfortunately, the world is in a mess and nobody really knows what they are doing. This is unchartered territory and it is a matter of trial and error in all countries.
  2. We have cancelled our cruise out of Rome in October. We have our usual winter b2b planned for Jan/Feb. But, the way things look, who knows if that will happen.Unless we feel it is perfectly safe, we will cancel that, too. The sad problem is that no one seems to know how to deal with this deadly virus. Even though there has been no reduction in new cases, nor deaths, they are talking about reopening schools, etc. When they do, I am not willing to be a guinea pig. I will wait and see how many more cases will follow. To those of you who are much more cavalier about this than I am, I wish you good luck and good health. That's the bottom line....that we all stay healthy. Without our health, no job, school, restaurant, hair dresser or vacation is worth a d---n.
  3. Thank you. Our flight is for October, so has not yet been cancelled.
  4. Please tell me what are DOT rules. Do they apply to Canada as well? I am currently offered vouchers good until April 30/21 which is not good for me.
  5. It's not only the cruiselines. I checked the air to Fort Lauderdale in January and it is through the roof. The hotel we already booked has also raised its price considerably. And we don't even know if Jan. will be a go.
  6. nothing is written in stone. If it continues to be bad, Aug/Sept will not be an option
  7. I have some inside cabins booked for 2021. Everyone tells me not to do insides anymore because of what happened to the quarantined pax on Princess. But, if I get a balcony, there is no guarantee that the weather will be perfect for sitting there. It can be too hot, too cold, too windy, too sunny, too rainy. And we are talking about a difference of thousands of dollars. We will not cruise until we know that it is safe to do so.
  8. Make two columns. One for the penthouse and one for the two cruises. Then list all the pluses you can think of for each choice. There you will find your answer!
  9. This is now a moot topic. No one at any age will be cruising before Coronavirus is history.
  10. Would you kindly explain how to copy and send via email? Thanks
  11. I think her point is that the reason for the "over 70" rule is that the coronavirus is more dangerous for that age group. That was a few weeks ago. Now it has become too dangerous for anyone to cruise. When all this is over, I don't think a note will still be required
