I have to disagree, there is a growing market in the sale of non factory made vapor refills which means could contain anything. There is also very little research done into whether the vapor is harmless.

 

I would prefer to be nowhere near anyone smoking either cigarettes or ecigs, it is a choice to smoke either of these and being treat as a smoker is the price you have to pay to continue to do so.

 

In the UK these are generally considered to be the same as cigarettes and as such have identical smoking bans in public places etc.

Yes sometimes the steam does look a bit like smoke I agree, my point though is that yes it is his choice to use ecigs but that is because he has given up smoking and wants to stay that way...smokers have an area so why not provide a small area for ecig users so that they do not have to be in with the smelly smoke from real cigarettes, which is very very different from steam vapour, which unless you can see the vapour you cannot even tell someone is using it.

I am a ex smoker of 27 years! My OH smoked till recently and now uses the electronic cigarettes. I have found NO problem at all on the Eclipse as the smoking areas are quite few and for example at the Sunset Bar/lawned areas one has the entire other side of the bar/ship to sit. I found the smoking u there pretty unobtrusive. The area on deck 12 is under "shelter" and as such it is about the only place on the ship I have ever "noticed" smoking. My OH has coped with the restrictions on the ship without too much trouble.

That is interesting, my hubby uses his ecig also and is somewhat dismayed that he will have to stand among the smokers to use it. The reason he switched (5 years ago now) was to quit smoking and now he will be forced to inhale smoke unless he only uses it in the cabin. It seems rather unfair and discriminatory as the vapor is non toxic, water based steam and has no smell, much like a boiling kettle. Can't see why he cannot use it in any outside area. Ho hum

we are booked for Baltics in June and I have been in the North Sea in rough weather before and it was not nice ! Does anyone have experience of the Eclipse in rough seas and is she nice and stable ?

The service charge is not included in the fares for Europenas..it is still charged to our account...that is just the way it is with cruising..not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things...I know for sure we would be tipping a lot more than that on a 'regular' holiday if we ate out every night.
