  1. I spent about $100 cash and I played my winnings ( about another $100) . This was on a 10 day Partial Panama Canal this February.

I saved $1900 X two on the Mediterranean Cruise . Then when I found out I still qualified for Explore 4 I was all in.

I booked direct with my HAL GAL!

  2. The casino rate was the reason I'm now going on a Mediterranean Cruise instead of Cuba. Two of us are going for less than the fare for one to go to Cuba( it was $6000 per person)

Add in Explore 4 .. and then we received a separate email after booking that we qualified for a free two night stay in Barcelona pre cruise for booking a Suite. I urge those that are in a NS to call the day AFTER you deposit to see if you can get this too.

  3. Thanks everyone for the ideas!

I love the Dublin idea BUT I'm scared to go where I haven't been yet! I'd want to stay. I've had extended stays in Rome, Paris, London and will have pre cruise in Barcelona. I figure those are "safe" . Well, I'm never safe in Paris.. it's my favorite city in the world and I'm liable to never leave.

I know it's early for airfare.. but I was surprised at all of the sold out flights already.

Well, heck., I AM going to check out Dublin! One night there would give me time for a few pints at least!!

  4. Just booked the April 18th 2018 cruise Barcelona to Venice.

Really great price ( casino rate and I didn't gamble THAT much on my Panama Canal cruise) with Explore4. We also are receiving two free nights pre cruise plus excursion on HAL for booking a NS. Really, the rates plus perks are amazing.

My problem? Flights!!!! We disembark in Venice ( after an overnight there ) at 6am .. Flights are either filled already ( what the heck ? ) or way to early ( like at 6am) or at 10am..

So can you disembark before official disembark ( at 2am) ? Is that even possible? I've heard Marco Polo Airport can be a disaster .

The other option is staying an extra day and flying out the next morning.

    Thanks!

  5. We'll that is no help at all and doesn't answer my question. That's like me saying hey I got a new volkswagon, tell me about yours! And you come along and talk about how Mercedes are better and have more features.

Well , it does help. There aren't a lot of perks. Period. Carnival should give Suite people automatic FTTF at the very least.

    Anyway .. it's a Tesla.. but it's borrowed.. alas ..

  6. That wonderful time of the year when people who knew it was hurricane season, but chose to cruise anyway, line up at Guest Services to demand compensation for missed ports, itinerary changes, and rough seas because Worst Cruise Ever!

These are the same people that would complain about anything. Not just hurricanes. These are usually the people who expect perfect.. and are usually the new cruiser.

An educated, seasoned cruiser knows the risks. We would never fault the cruise line for things out of their control.

  7. I'm booked in a Spa Balcony on the Dream for September 24, 2017.

Carnival's site has this " Guests in Cloud 9 Spa accommodations have private access to the spa and are eligible for exclusive spa packages and discounts. "

So does anyone know what the discounts are? Are we just better off booking for port days ( better deals ) ? If we book in advance how do we get the spa room discounts?

  8. I try and go every cruise. I bring my own tea because I don't like Lipton or Green Tea and I'm not about to pay $1.99 for a tea bag. I love the scones and cream!

So is this real clotted or Devonshire cream? Best. Stuff. Ever.

  9. So a twenty bill gets clout with Carnivals Maitre'd , is that a good thing ?

Do you approve of this method at your restaurant ?

It's a shame the Maitre'd just wouldn't move them in the first place. Obviously there WAS space since the magical $20 didn't just "create" an extra two spots.

I would have done the same thing.. THEN called out the lying Maitre'd after he "found" two seats @ $10 a piece. And blasted his butt to the Hot Man.

  10. Not knowing where said balcony is, a word of warning:

DO NOT BOOK AN AFT , AFT WRAP , OR VISTA SUITE!!!!!!

I am a die hard "Aft Snob", or "Aft Rat" (Which I prefer).

If anyone invites you to see their aft cabin, REFUSE! You will be forever wanting to book such cabins in the future!

All kidding aside, please book what fits within your needs and budget. Do try to visit other staterooms, if offered, to see the difference.

    You WILL enjoy your balcony!;)

Nope, no way , no how. Had an aft wrap suite on HAL once.. the balcony was massive.. Hated it. Hated the location, hated the vibration and "rumble" from engines ( or whatever), hated the view.

  11. They are looking for the Belize/Roatan FunTimes. But I appreciate the post since I will be going to Montego Bay.

Yup! Hi, Blaine! I missed up and made steakhouse reservations for the 28th , I thought the 29th would be elegant night!

Oh well.. it's my birthday that day so it's all good.

Plus.. may not even make it to the dining room on the 29th due to Cozumel and Mr. Sanchos! Lol! I'll be lucky to make it back onboard!

  12. Hello from Indiana, everyone!

On my upcoming cruise (September 25th, Dream ) we are doing a slot pull. We have quite a few people doing it but some questions popped up.

Whose card gets inserted? Is there a way to get a "slot pull" card so no one is getting everyone's points? And what if there is a win? How would you handle that and the tax issues?

    Thanks for any help!

  13. I found an I Pad in the safe during my safe sweep. I used that safe a lot the whole week and never saw it. It was very hidden under the rug mat thing.

I turned it into my cabin steward as we were leaving and came straight here to PSA it in case a CC member knew who may have lost it.

I then, by suggestion here, went to the roll call for that cruise and posted it. I never heard anything and I hope the rightful owner got it back.

  14. If your ship comes back late and you have a flight to catch is it difficult to get another flight? Our flight is at 12 on day we get back. There are later flights too but I wonder do airlines work with you to reschedule? I will have insurance but would assume you would have to pay again and get reimbursed? I just like to have an idea just in case if anyone has ever this experience. This will be our first time flying in before and after.

Every airline has their own rules.. best to check with your particular airline.

At the very least you may encounter change fees ( sometimes $250 plus flight differences) unless it is Southwest

  15. I've spent one week at an all inclusive in Ocho Rios ( Moon Palace ) and would say, yes..

    It is not safe.

My week was free.. and I would not go back.. even for another free week.

It reminds me of Colon, Panama which is saying ALOT

  16. The perks on Carnival are lacking for Suites so don't expect much there.

The room is a decent size.. though HALs are larger ( with real perks) . The best part is the jetted tub .. and some might like the bidet. The dressing area is nice too.

I don't find value in Carnivals suites for the price to be honest.., and this is from someone who only books Suites on HAL because I love the amenities.
