    Good Evening All,

I just booked my D.W. and I on the Silhouette for 2025......... and the ship is leaving out of Cape Liberty, all pluses for us.

Not trying to be rude, but you have more to worry about than the location of your Muster Station.  I believe your ship departs from Boston.  🙂

Thank you for sharing this wonderful information!!!  I have been keeping my fingers crossed that this would happen before our upcoming cruise.

  3. If I am understanding your situation correctly, you want to upgrade from a Sunset Veranda to a Concierge Cabin on the aft of the ship.  However, you are comparing the current pricing of both categories.  When you upgrade, you use the price you paid for your Sunset Veranda and the current price of the Concierge cabin to determine the difference you will pay.  You compare the current price of the Concierge at $2650 to the price you paid for the Sunset Veranda, which I assume is less.

I see today that Italy is open for International travel effective June 3 and will not required the 14 day quarantine.   It would be a good time to travel if restaurants are open.   Italy is always so crowded in the summer, it should be less crowded this year.   If you were concerned about the “fit to sail” letter it is probably not the year for you to be traveling by sea or by air.

The article I read about Italy reopening says, "The measures are currently limited to residents in Europe's visa-free Schengen area, the government clarified later on Saturday".

  5. Hi Jim,

This is Paula.  We met in the Retreat on the Edge on the TA in November.  :classic_biggrin:

    We really enjoyed the Edge.

Thank you for 99% confirming what I thought was correct!  We added a cruise to our B2B on the Eclipse after Celebrity changed the dry dock dates and added new itineraries.  We will be getting off on Nov 10, as you are boarding!

Hope we cross paths again someday.

  6.

I just read on a thread about the Sunset Suites that you are currently on the Eclipse.  You mentioned that Eclipse will now be shifted for renovation dry dock to October of this year.  Is this an official new change?  The dry dock was originally scheduled for October of 2020 and was changed late last year to April of 2021.  We are booked on Eclipse on B2B2B in September and October of 2020, so very important to us!!  Thanks much!

  7. Thank you very much for your reply.  I will give you a brief explanation of what we experienced.  We left the ship and got on the shuttle bus at 8:15 am.  The bus driver had NO idea where he was going.  We drove and drove aimless around the city.  We stopped at a police station for directions.  Another bus was sent to lead us back to the port and the terminal.  That did not work either; that bus drove us down two dead end roads in the port and both buses had to back out.  The other bus backed into a concrete barrier and did substantial damage to the left rear of the bus.  Finally, a passenger with cell service on her phone used GPS to help the driver find the terminal.  Coincidentally, there were three Celebrity staff members on board going to work at the terminal, and they assured us a full report of this debacle would be made.  Someone with Celebrity had to notice they were missing!!  We were on the bus for ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES.  We were standing on the bus the entire time, with our carry on luggage leaning against our legs.  We were packed in like sardines and were hot and uncomfortable.

When I reported this to Celebrity, I was told that I must be mistaken and imagined seeing the same sites over and over during our drive.  They claimed I should have expected an extended drive to the terminal.  They said they contacted Customer Relations on the Eclipse, and they claimed no knowledge of any such incident.

This is the first time I have every raised an issue with Celebrity and I am very disappointed in their response.  I do not appreciate being told this did not happen.  I wanted an apology and a sincere effort to make sure it did not happen again.

  8. We enjoyed a fantastic cruise on the Eclipse from Barcelona to Buenos Aires.  The only negative experience was on the last day of the cruise.  I reported the issue to Celebrity after returning home, but was rebuffed, as if my concerns were unfounded.  I am not seeking retribution or reimbursement, but felt Celebrity needed to be aware of the unfortunate circumstances we encountered.

I would appreciate input from people who disembarked in Buenos Aires at the conclusion of the Celebrity Eclipse cruises beginning on 11/23/18 or 12/9/18.

Could you please tell me how long the ride was on the shuttle bus from the ship to the terminal where luggage was collected?   For example, were you on the bus for 5 minutes, 20 minutes, etc.

    Thank you in advance.  Paula

Thank you for your help!  My room was green (when i could look at the website) and the room i would like to move to is also green.  I don't want to be right under the buffet area.

The cabin you mentioned, 1121, is on Deck 11.  The buffet is on Deck 10.

  10. I said you mean to tell me I waited an hour for you not to be able to help me and he said yes and hung up. I am still in shock, I can still hear the bang of the phone.

About 4:00 pm today, I called Celebrity. Was on hold for about three minutes, the agent helped me with my issue, and I was off the phone in five minutes. Different times of the day are busier than others, obviously.

The Celebrity website clearly states the online check-in documents are not accessible once the cruise is within three days.

I laughed out loud when I read the "I can still hear the bang of the phone" comment!!! Who has a phone that can be "banged"? Almost everyone uses cell phones or portable phones, and employees in a call center would be using an earphone. Story sounds a little dramatic to me.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  11. In my experience the group dynamics in Michael's Club are different. Several years ago on a Connie TA we had an amazing group of people and many remained until well after 1:00 AM. On other cruises I've found MC hardly used. I suspect that it will be fairly full on the President's Cruise with a number of people who have bee cruising friends for many years. The dynamics are also influenced by the Michael's Club Concierge. Some just stay at the desk while others actively engage the guests.

Oh, my gosh. You must be referring to our favorite cruise experience in Michael's Club. Officers came in to see how much fun we were having one night and the whole crowd singing "Sweet Caroline" on another.

We enjoyed meeting you. Please email me: pbaldwin at tampabay.rr.com

    Thanks, Paula

  12. This is from the X website.

One-category upgrade requests must be made at the time of booking and apply only for upgrades within the supercategory, depending on availability. Example of a supercategory upgrade in AquaClass: A2 to A1. Captain's Club one category upgrade excludes category 12, FV, SV, C1 and guarantee categories, Z, Y, X, XC, XA, W. This offer cannot be used with certain restricted fares including but not limited to travel agent and employee rates. Upgrades apply for one stateroom per cruise. Stateroom assignments only. Not valid on holiday sailings. Upgrades available from categories 11- A1 on all Celebrity ships except Celebrity Xpedition®. Offer valid for members who are Classic Level or higher at the time of booking.

I don't see that Suites are excluded so you should be getting this. Please note however that you (or your TA) need to ask as this is not automatically given during the booking process. Also, some TA's don't consider this an upgrade but rather consider it as a price reduction. I've taken advantage of it a number of times and always review the prices on the X to ensure I play for a 1B when booking a 1A or a 2C when booking a 2B.

Did you compare the prices directly on the X website to keep your TA honest?

I believe Suites are excluded from this offer. If you read the highlighted sentence above, Suite categories are not listed as being available for upgrades; the highest level on the list is Aqua.

  13. I had repeated problems completing our online check in. I tried on five different days over the past two weeks, at various times during the day and night. I got error messages, had the page keep reloading the log-in page, and sometimes nothing would happen (just keep spinning). I was relieved to see this thread; proved it was not my issue alone!!

  14. November is approaching and I'm getting excited to see the 2017 itineraries.

Anyone have any information about release dates?

Believe we had a schedule of release dates by location about this time last year. (ie Europe open for booking on xx/xx/xx; Caribbean open for booking on xx/xx/xx, etc)

  15. Absolutely go for the Suite Guarantee!

The larger cabin and more storage will be appreciated. Dining in Luminae and having a butler are added bonuses. Keep in mind that you could be assigned to a Sky Suite that is handicap accessible. That cabin has more square footage and the bathroom accommodates a wheelchair.

Only Celebrity can tell you whether you get to keep your perks.

Please let us know what you decide AND what cabin you end up with if you go for the guarantee. Good Luck :)
