Is it safe to use the internet onboard without VPN?

Hi,
Is it possible to use a VPN on board NCL? If yes, is it working well?
Thank you
-
Thank you 👌

Where can I do that? I don't see this option on the NCL canadian website.

Hi,
Is it possible to request an upgrade (inside to balcony) directly via the NCL website? If yes, what's the procedure? We are sailing on Sunday.
Thank you

Early in the morning. As soon as the first passengers debark the ship.

Keep in mind the operation had to be planned late Friday evening. What a contract to find 30-35 buses on a Friday evening to begin operations at 4AM. Also, all partners had to find staff to handle the operations (greeting staff, check-in staff, security staff, screening staff, porters, drivers, etc.). It was a pretty complex logistic to prepare.

Hi,
The turnaround was supposed to happen in Montreal on Saturday. The passengers will be bussed between Quebec City and Montreal on Saturday (approx 250 km). Any idea what's the problem with the ship?
Thank you

You will leave Quebec City on Sunday (as scheduled) if you are bused to Quebec on Saturday

Any update if the turnaround will be in Quebec City or in Montreal on Saturday?

I have seen some major websites selling shore excursions for cruisers. Is it safe to buy on these websites? I would like your comments.
Thank you

The Silver Wind from Silversea will dock in Quebec City in a few minutes (same dock used by Royal Princess). It is probably the reason why the Royal Princess left a few minutes ago.
The Silver Spirit from Silversea is sill in Quebec too. This ship was supposed to leave yesterday.

Now 3 overnight in row instead of 2 (the original plan).

Hi,
Any idea why the Royal Princess is still in Quebec City tonight? The ship was supposed to leave around 5PM today.

Hi,
How good is the Premium Internet on the NCL Getaway?
Thank you :D

Good morning,
It there a place where I can find the cruise passengers demographic by cruise line and by itinerary?
Let see some examples:
- The NCL passengers are younger on a Caribbean cruise versus a Alaska cruise.
- The HAL passengers are older on a Caribbean cruise versus NCL passengers on a Caribbean cruise.
Is there a place where I can find that kind of information?
Thank you

Hi,
Previously, it was possible to consult the ship ranking per cruise line. The ship with the highest appreciation percentage was rank #1 for that brand. Anybody know why they removed this great feature?
Thank you

I mean when a ship changes itinerary for any reason (ex: weather issue)

Hi,
Is there a website where we can easily track "Port diversion"?

I just got a reply from NCL regarding the situation in Jamaica:
"Thanks for getting in touch with us. The safety and security of our guests and crew is our top priority. We have strict safety protocols in place and communicate and cooperate with local authorities regarding security matters at the destinations our ships visit. In the event of any developing safety concerns in the areas we visit, we have the flexibility to alter our itineraries as needed to avoid such areas. While this warning is specific to certain zones, we always communicate with our guests before going into port of call to use caution, be safe and be alert when going ashore, no matter the destination. There are currently no reports of concern in tourist areas, HOWEVER we will continue to monitor the situation. At this time, we are not planning to alter any existing itineraries."

Travel warning from Government of Canada:
"On January 18, 2018, a state of emergency was declared by the Jamaican government for St James Parish, which includes Montego Bay, as a result of a significant increase in violent crime. Military forces have been deployed to the area in an attempt to stabilize the situation.
If you are staying at a resort in the affected area, restrict your movements beyond resort security perimeters. If you do travel outside these perimeters, use transportation arranged or provided by the resort. Use organized tour operators for excursions and travel to and from the airport. If you are in the affected area, be extremely vigilant, follow the instructions of local authorities and monitor local news."
Do you think NCL will skip our stop in Falmouth next week?
Internet / VPN
in Norwegian Cruise Line

I'm a day trader so I plan to do some trading onboard. I'm not sure if the internet will be fast enough for my trading tools. I would prefer to use a VPN for more security.
