I just got through to check on the final payment due today for the Odyssey cruises. They said they are currently working on the reservations and should have the price protection applied today so it will reflect paid in full. If we do not receive a new invoice showing the correct balance by 5:00pm eastern today, I should call back.

Last night we got emails with our new cabins after the switch from Independence to Odyssey. We're happy with the cabins. It lists a balance due, but they did tell us previously that it could take a couple weeks to update the reservation to show paid in full. Our main concern is it states June 7th as the date final payment is due! We are worried that the system will automatically cancel if it appears we have a balance due and it passes final payment date before they fix it.
I'm trying to call to verify, but it says the office is closed. My guess that is because the line of people on hold is so long it can't take any more. Oh well, I'll keep trying.
Has anyone else encountered this and know if they have it under control and won't cancel the reservations?

We had 2 cancelled that we booked ourselves. We got the email on June 4, and called on June 5 to do a Lift & Shift. We thought it would take a while to get through because they had just made the announcements, but our call was picked up within a few minutes and the representative was very helpful. We got both weeks of our B2B moved and were able to get the same cabin for both weeks.
It was great to not have to add more FCCs to the list.

You could always give names to your kitchen and other rooms .
That's it! I'm naming my kitchen the Windjammer; it's everyone for themselves!!

I've got my countdown clock ticking down to my next cruise, but it really hit me today that I'm not there yet!
I was in the kitchen cooking (okay, there's the first sign - I actually had to cook something!!) when I heard the TV in another room. I don't even know what show was on, but I heard "Here's your host..." and was so shocked that the next words weren't "and cruise director". It didn't get any better when I had to wash the dishes when I was done cooking. Okay, the cooking and cleaning I'm used to, but I thought it was so funny that I was waiting for the rest of the host's introduction!
Can you relate & what surprise moments have you had that made you think of cruising and looking forward to the next one?

On the ships built before Sovereign class there weren't safes in the cabin. You had to bring things to the Pursers desk if you wanted them locked up in their safe. It was a free service, but not as convenient as having a safe in the cabin.
The Windjammer was outdoors and only partially covered; not fun when it was raining. The current Windjammers are a big improvement.

I love it; my two favorite posters responded with great information at the same time. Plus the OP is from WI; my home state.

I am tired of ANYONE looking down on ANYONE ELSE.
Period.
Sheesh.
Need more than a like button; I love this!
We have met such great people in both lounges; whether they were there because they were cruising in a suite or because of their C & A status. Hope to continue to meet people who are just happy to be on a cruise and enjoy meeting others!

At least you can see your amenities!! There are many of us PC Members that can not because the IT Department can only count up to 999!!!
That would be frustrating; especially since it sounds like it's been going on for a while.

We just checked our preferences today and were happy we did. One of Brian's was empty. When we checked the list, the picture frame is no longer there.
If you had that selected, you might want to select something else.

You're welcome. If it's not too much trouble to report back, I'm curious if the schedule will have changed much from what I posted.
No trouble at all; when our entertainment is available online to book, I'll post the schedule here. It will be interesting to see the differences.
-
Bob - Thank you so much for the schedule!
I know show times can change, but this gives us a good idea of what we might see. We just booked Oasis for this Fall and are getting excited to plan the details.

No Freestyle machines on Navigator.
We did have a separate area for Diamonds and above in the MDR for breakfast.
We sailed in Nov. 2015 over Thanksgiving.
Thanks! Nice to know about the Diamond area for breakfast, and now I won't be tempted to get a soda package since they don't have Freestyle machines. :D

Thanks for the report. Our next cruise is on Navigator; nice to hear about the great service you had.
One question for you: Do you know if they have the area in the MDR for Diamond (and above) for breakfast on Navigator?
I believe it was originally on ships without a DL, but I think some ships with a DL are doing it and we've always had great service.
Thanks!

Hey Kathleen, why did Brian leave you home for 79 days??:D
LOL! I've threatened to leave him at home to try and catch up, but I guess I can't blame him for starting before we met. I especially appreciate that he introduced me to Royal Caribbean.

I appreciate the benefit of having vouchers, but I would love to see it changed to be that you could order any drink up to a specified $ amount, and maybe pay the difference if you want something with a higher price. We prefer Manhattans or Cosmopolitans, and haven't been able to consistently get them outside of the lounge.

When we booked on board and got the OBC during that cruise, later I was disappointed because it wouldn't be as much as the shareholder OBC and I thought we wouldn't be able to get the shareholder OBC on the cruise we booked. When I sent the request for the shareholder OBC, I was very happy to get the reply that it was applied! Since we rarely, if ever, cancel a cruise, we will definitely take the OBC on the cruise we're on.
That's a big benefit since the booking OBC is usually not combinable with the shareholder OBC.

We've gone mini-golfing late at night a few times; nice and quiet. Some of our favorite photos are midnight golfing on formal night.

We ran into some past cruise buddies in here today. It was good to see them again.
It was great to see you again on this cruise, and we're really enjoying reliving it through your review and seeing photos of some of the other people we met. What a wonderful cruise filled with great people; both passengers and crew. I wish we could have stayed on for the next one with you!
-
Stepping on the ship; knowing the flight and lines are behind us.
First drink in the Concierge Club and meeting all the great people we'll be getting to know there during the cruise.
Meeting our dinner tablemates and being happy that we have another great group to dine with.
-
I agree, I like the lounge too, but in any case you should still have the 3 drink vouchers each evening.
Yes, the vouchers will be nice, but we also really like going to the lounge during the day. It's a relaxing spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and visit.
It's not a big deal, and we'll still enjoy our two weeks on the beautiful Jewel.
-
Jewel is still scheduled for revitalization in 2016.
Hopefully they will allow D+ in the CL on Jewel until there is a DL added. We have a Jewel cruise booked in 2015; I don't mind not having the CL if there is a DL, but would be disappointed to not have either for that trip.

Drinks were included when we did the Prohibition Party and there wasn't a limit. There was also a good variety of drinks.
Electronic Shareholder Benefit Submittal
in Royal Caribbean International

Thanks for sharing this; it looks like an easy way to submit the request.
I typically email the request so I can submit a list of cruises with one request. They usually reply with an email stating it has been applied for all the cruises listed, or include any details if there are any that could not be applied.
The email address is ShareholderBenefit@rccl.com
I include an attachment with my brokerage statement and have a list of the cruises with ship, date and reservation number.
I hope this option is helpful for those who have multiple cruises.
