I don't know how you booked but my TA said we haven't received a letter yet from Royal because we booked under a group rate. He sent me a letter from Royal that says we have until Oct. 16th to cancel so I at least feel a little better.

We were booked on the Sep 13 2021 Jewel sailing....10 nt Iberian Peninsula.
Booked through our travel agent. Having not rec'd any official notification from RCCL or TA I called our TA on Saturday.  Setup a new booking on a new Jewel sailing (Aug 22 - 9 nt Baltic) but RCCL was not yet able to move our money and FCC from the exisiting cancelled sailing.  Kind of a mess.  The new booking is being held without deposit for now in anticipation of RCCL moving all of our money over.  No word on amount of OBC if any.

We had a 10 might Iberian peninsula cruise on JOS cancelled in Sept 21.
The email talks about listening to feedback and market reach. Anyone know the real reason for the changes?

We are (or maybe 'were') booked on a 10 night Iberian cruise on Jewel. Sail date 9/13/21.

I assume that is now cancelled?  We haven't gotten any notification as yet.

  3. Thanks to all for your replies...

    Let's see...

Yes, just South West Rail near as I can tell...

National Express seems to be sold out. Gone, daddy, gone.

Silver Fleet is also fully booked.

Was able to booked a shared van via International Friends by way of London Toolkit... thanks smithop. They now have only one opening. One catch... they won't pick up at our hotel in Southwark due to road closures related to a cycling event on Saturday. We'll need to schlep our bags to the Marriott Grosvenor Square for pickup.

    Now for that large beer....

  4. From the Chase FAQ re: their chip and signature Visa and MasterCard. Several 'ifs' , 'shoulds' and 'mays' ....I guess it's a crap shoot

What if I encounter an unattended kiosk while traveling abroad?

Internationally, chip has already been adopted as the industry standard. You’ll be able to use your chip card anywhere that Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Note: As of July 2015, unattended kiosks that accept Visa/MasterCard should now accept payment with or without PIN according to their new guidelines. If a merchant/kiosk asks you for a PIN, first verify that Visa/MasterCard are accepted. If so, you may be able to select one of the following to bypass the PIN prompt: “Cancel,” “Enter” or “Continue.” If the card reader still will not accept your card without a PIN code, there may be staff in the area to assist you. Otherwise, local currency may be needed in this situation.

  5. I wonder if it's just not a popular itinerary.

There are 12 night Baltic cruises on Silhouette out of Amsterdam immediately before and immediately after the British Open Cruise. Pricing for the earlier cruise (7/1) currently starts at $167/night while the later cruise (7/25) is starting at $221/night. By comparison the British Open cruise (7/13) starts at about $100/night.

    It's odd.....

  6. re: the US State Department Travel Warnings:

    http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/alertswarnings.html

We issue a Travel Warning when we want you to consider very carefully whether you should go to a country at all. Examples of reasons for issuing a Travel Warning might include unstable government, civil war, ongoing intense crime or violence, or frequent terrorist attacks. We want you to know the risks of traveling to these places and to strongly consider not going to them at all. Travel Warnings remain in place until the situation changes; some have been in effect for years.

The US State Department has had an active travel warning posted for Israel, the West Bank and Gaza since February 2015:

    http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/alertswarnings/israel-travel-warning.html

The security environment remains complex in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza, and U.S. citizens need to be aware of the continuing risks of travel to these areas, particularly to areas described in this Travel Warning where there are heightened tensions and security risks. The security situation can change day to day, depending on the political situation, recent events, and geographic area.
