SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 1669

DECK #: 11

CLASS: S2 (Sky Suite 2)

AREA: Aft (Non-Corner)

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Very quiet.

BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed

BALCONY SIZE: Oversized bc on AFT

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: There were no problems with this cabin. This is a non-corner aft suite. It has no support pole in the cabin but S2 1667 next door does. We very much enjoyed the extra closet space as the corner aft sky suite had one less closet. We have booked this exact suite again for our next sailing. We are hoping Gordon the butler is still on this ship as he was wonderful.

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 1660

DECK #: 11

CLASS: A2

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Very. Some corridor noise, but our neighbors were quite inconsiderate (or hard of hearing).

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent.

BALCONY SIZE: roomy enough for two chairs, two footstools, and a small table.

WIND A PROBLEM?:No. The overhang above deck 12 was really nice; protection from the rain and some nice shade in the afternoons.

SOOT A PROBLEM?:What soot?

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:Nice cabin. A bit of a walk from the elevators midships, and the corridor to the cabin was very narrow for my husband (who discovered that he gets mildly seasick), but I would definitely book it again.

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 2105

DECK #: 12

CLASS: C2

AREA: Mid-ship

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: NO

BALCONY VIEW: good

BALCONY SIZE: oversized

WIND A PROBLEM?:no

SOOT A PROBLEM?:no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: I've never had a noise issue for a "first cabin behind the hump" before but did with this one. Incessant, LOUD flushing from the ladies room overhead....constant whoosh, whoosh, whoosh until the wee hours. Also, on one windy sea day, the entire elevator lobby filled with cigarette smoke due to the smoking area being right outside the doors to the pool. The smoke came into the cabin from the hallway, not the balcony. Wouldn't book this particular cabin, or any cabin on the Deck 12 port-side hump, again.

BALCONY VIEW:

BALCONY SIZE: Bit larger than normal. On the hump

This was our 5th cruise - had previously done RCCL and DCL. We have a 14 year old child. Cruise overall was great. A couple items to note: Unlike RCCL and DCL the fold out bed in our cabin was basically a thin mattress put on the couch with the cushions on the couch pulled off. Not very comfortable. Other cruises had the couch pull out into a full size bed. We were traveling with family and had purposely gotten rooms (1215/1217) next to each other so we could open the divider between the balconies up. We were able to open it up, however there was a 8-10" support beam going through the middle of the walkway between the balconies. We had to hop over the support beam that was going diagonally across the walkway to get to the other side. Also, I am not sure if it was the location of our room (mid ship/10th floor) or what but there was a vibration many times in our room - almost like an engine vibration. Got annoying at times, but no big deal. Other than that cruise service and ship were both great.
