After spending hours yesterday packing, unpacking, repacking 4 different suitcase configurations, I finally finished and am now in Atlanta waiting my connecting flight to Albany NY to stay with my traveling companion tonight. I didn't pack this much for our 9 day cruise and extra week in London in August. Of course I didn't pack dresses and bathing suits for that vacation. Great weather in the South today and looks like it continues in NYC tomorrow. We'll be taking the 7am train from ALB in the morning if anyone else is traveling from upstate.

I 'won' the upgrade to YC and was assigned a cabin on 14 portside. I noticed that there were still at least 6 cabins available on 15 with 2 starboard which is my preference. I called to see if I could change to a starboard cabin and was told that upgraded cabins cannot be changed.

For breakfast, lox and bagels with cream cheese is on the menu in YC. For the dinner, it would be wise to advise the staff on what you want. The French Onion Soup, Caesar Salad are only one one day of the seven-day rotation The Shrimp Cocktail has been on the the always available on our last cruise, but that may change. Certainly, those three requested dishes would be easy for them to make up for you with a bit of notice.
Good luck against U Mass. The next week may be a bit more difficult for you! (I hope, at least! ☺️). Go Bucks!

I really enjoyed your semi b2b reviews and this one, too. I'll be on the Oct 25 itinerary with you and the 'crew'. Thanks for doing the live reviews. They are extremely helpful.

The deck maps for the 14th floor YC area have a lot of interior space unmarked which I assume is crew area for the bridge. Is the YC elevator accessible to YC cabins on deck 14?

I am on the Mareviglia now in a YC balcony room and the sewer smell from the bathroom is nauseating. Tried the water trick, didnt work. Hoping they can do something. We have the balcony door open for air. Any suggestions on how to address this? This is my first MSC experience and so far- not impressed.
What floor is your cabin and are you port or starboard? We'll be in 14007 on Oct 25. Hoping not a problem.

Thanks for all the input. It looks like the place for us. I didn't know about the DLR, which is another benefit.

We're considering staying at the Marriott Canary Wharf for our 5 day post cruise London stay. It's definitely cheaper than the tourist area hotels (like Marriott County Hall or Marriott Grosvner where I've stayed on previous visits) and appears to be well located on the tube and Thames water transportation routes. We're in our 70s, so late night entertainment is not a priority except for jazz at Pizza Express or Ronnie Scott's. Is Canary Wharf a safe area st night? Will transportation times be doable to the more central tourist attractions?

We'll be on Divina Oct 28-Nov 4. Just got the upgrade to YC, so excited for that. My question is about the Sports Bar and if they show American football. We are supporters of the sad Cleveland Browns and they are playing Cincinnati for the battle of Ohio on Oct 31. Of course we'll be in costume, but I'd still like to see some of the game.
Thanks,

There are printed docs for ArriveCAN? You can’t show them the app? Does ArriveCAN email you something? I have yet to see an app with a print function. The whole point of an app is you can do it On your phone.Exactly! You probably can show the email from your ArriveCAN receipt, but the app doesn't show the bar code and receipt reference code and that's what they wanted to see. I did a screen shot of the email and printed it as a backup. They wanted to see the receipt and barcode 3 different times in the terminal.

We just boarded Spirit in Seattle today and they only wanted to see printed docs for Arrivecan and our covid results. We had to show the printed Arrivecan paper 3 times. We had an 11:00 appt and we never sat in the waiting area. On board having a drink by 11:30.

Thanks so much for your detailed review. We're getting on Spirit in 2 days and you've gotten my pre-cruise excitement to level 4. This is my 3rd time at all these ports except ISP, but the last time was 17 years ago so you're giving me a peak at some less commercial activities and updated food and beverage experiences.

I tripped on the stairs inside the Panorama during our January Mexican Riviera cruise. I braced for the fall with my hand and landed on a piece of broken wine glass jammed in my palm. Medical center xrayed and stitched me up. They charged me $383. I have Alianz insurance, but they are 2nd payers, so I filed with my Medicare Advantage plan against the Global Emergency benefit ($200 copay). That coverage was denied because the ship's doctor (or admin) did not provide ICD codes, only verbal diagnosis, procedure names, and suppliees . I have filed with Aliianz, but haven't heard anything yet. I'm afraid they won't pay without ICD codes either.
Make sure you get ICD codes and doctors' names.

I just purchased an excursion and wifi using a gift card and I was surprised to see that OBC was one of my payment options. I used OBC and a portion of the gift card to complete the purchase.

You can get tested on the ship before you leave. We got tested on Panorama because we were getting on the Miracle the day after debark. Also the BTB people got tested. You may have to pay of it's not for another Carnival cruise.

I'm not a big gambler either, but I did play in a Wheel of Fortune tournament on Magic in 2016. I started getting the free cruise offers in January. We did 7 days on Panorama for $409 total including taxes and port charges for a balcony. Then we did a 4 day on Miracle for another $300. Both ships were 1/3 to 1/2 full. We've booked the Spirit for 8 day Alaska in May for an aft balcony $1400 total taxes, etc. That's less than the price I paid for a 7 day Alaska in 2005.
I haven't gotten any more offers since I booked Spirit.

Checking with the Seattle Departures Board will probably give you some good ideas:

Thanks for suggesting that! 19 years on CC and I've never been to that forum thread. I found this interesting article there that answers my question and much, much more.

Looking for a hotel nearby for the day before cruise on Carnival Spirit.

Thanks for the great review and Patti's wonderful pictures. We just booked the Panorama (1/29) and Miracle (2/5). We're staying at the LB Hilton pre-cruise and are glad to hear of the shuttle to the shopping/dining areas. We'll also be prepared for the possible S2S issues.

We'll be docked in Bermuda for 3 days. Can we get 3 excursion credits for this port?

I'll be traveling with a friend on the Escape and want to have beds separated. The descriptions of all the Haven categories say king bed and don't mention that they're convertible to 2 beds. Are there any Haven cabins which have the convertible kings?

One 25 inch, one 22 inch, 2 small carryon. I'm very embarrassed. I had hoped to do one 30 inch, but it ended up over 50 pounds! I have 2 free checked bags with Delta, but 50 pounds domestic is the limit. I'm traveling without my sherpa (domestic partner), so I have to be able to handle everything myself.
