  2. We love Oceania, and Art is particular to Marina and Riviera. We have not cruised with Viking. We have, however, meticulously scrutinized every Norwegian fjords cruise we could find. We have decided to try Silversea for this cruise next year because it appears to visit more fjords. It depends on what you are looking for on such an itinerary.

  3. We've noticed that some of the other luxury cruise lines have similar itineraries and usually Oceania cruises have the best prices. However, the other lines often cruise at different times of the year when the weather is better. We LOVE Oceania, but will pay more for a better holiday. Shop around and make suggestions to Oceania. Even a 2 month difference can make a cruise better.

  4. The hotel says the water taxi would be at least 80 euros.

We'll be in Venice for four nights, so will need to keep our bags with us.

I hate doing laundry on the ship, especially with no sea days and every port with a full day's excursion.

    pondering.................

  5. Sorry you are off in your country, the Lippizonar stalions are born and bred in Lipica, Slovenia close to the border of Italy. Kopar is also in Slovenia, rather far north of Montenegro.

We were off by a "p."

I did determine that there is some wonderful riding in Montenegro, though :)

Still looking at the cruise ship alternatives for a day in Koper to include the stud farm..

  6. We will have a day room at the IC, arriving about 6AM. I think we'll try to do a half day 4x4 then relax until boarding time. We had a similar arrival time in New Zealand a couple of years ago and spent the first day exploring on foot, then a family farm/wine tasting/honey sampling tour, then dinner, and did fine. Our first PG day is a sea day, so we'll rest then. The IC has suggested a tour for us.

  7. I'm leaning towards the Pinnacle snorkeling. It is touted as super terrific. The dive master advised Micah to do the 2-tank dive and the timing on that depends on the conditions. I have watched the Ato videos/photos. I don't think I want to see anybody spearing fish in person.

BTW: Our itinerary has changed a bit according to my TA

  8. Please advise!

I'm prebooked for Fakarava Pinnacle Snorkeling with the ship, but thinking about Ato's Blue Lagoon Tour. Is it possible to compare the snorkeling on these options? According to the dive guys on PG, snorkeling in the Garuae Pass is the absolute best. I've read and re-read all about Ato's wonderful tour and am just plain stuck. I do know that the Fakarava Pinnacle Snorkeling either will, or may already be sold out. Oh, yes, we're vegetarians so Ato's picnic isn't a plus for us. I would like to see the pink sand beach. HELP!

BTW: It's cheating to say I need to book another cruise so I can do both :)
