  1. We've had a couple of package holidays with Jet2 in the last 9 months and were well pleased.

Quick single queue check in at departure airport, more legroom than Thomsons and Thomas Cook (ample for average punter), efficient transfers - and hotel based luggage check in on morning of return flight.

Plus no credit card surcharge when booking the deal.

Now our preferred tour operator for hotel packages.

I agree Jet 2 are superb and totally customer focussed [emoji4]

  2. Please can someone confirm:

Will there be a Formal Night on board a 7 night Dream cruise?

Having explored cruise critic I was under the impression All Thomson ships were now having Dress to impress nights instead???

Having just picked up the new brochure

The small print states that DTI is only on Explorer, Discovery I and II (page 228) ???

    I am confused [emoji33]

  3. We are new to Thomsons.

If planning to take a Thomson excursion is it best to book it on line before the cruise or wait till on board?

ie are there any benefits of booking online (from home) ?

    Many thanks

  4. Have cruised before but this is our first time with Thomsons. I am used to putting my luggage outside my cabin door late on the last night and then packing my last few bits needed the next morning into my hand luggage .

I then transfer the items not needed for the flight home into my suitcase once collected from the quayside and prior to it being put on the transfer coach.

Is this possible with Thomsons or will my luggage be collected from outside my cabin and then not be seen again by me until landing in the U.K. (Fingers crossed) .

    Our cruise is from Corfu.

    All advice welcome many thanks.

  5. The deck plans don't distinguish between insides with single beds that can convert into a queen sized double or a fixed double so you will have to take pot luck if you want singles. You will probably get your cabin number when you get to the destination airport?

There should be water dispensers but please don't fill your water bottle directly from them, fill a glass and pour that into the bottle, it is a lot more hygienic.

Many thanks for your reply and re filling water bottles I agree , I hate to see people filling their bottles directly from the dispenser [emoji33]

  6. We are seriously considering a cruise on board Dream. Are looking at a basic inside cabin. We don't plan on requesting a certain cabin, therefore how will we know what the bed formation will be? ie will it be 2x single or a double or L shaped?

Do we have to take pot luck and wait until arrived on board to find out?

Re drinking water, I note this is payable, but are their water dispensers around the ship whet one can fill up one some drinks bottle?

    Many thanks in anticipation.

  7. Thanks All for you continued reviews, it's preparing my taste buds for our Cape Town to Rio trip in December.

On that note I am after a favour: can someone tell me;: does the shop on board stock

    L'Occitaine Vevyter ( gents cologne/ aftershave)

And also Dolce & Gabana Light Blue (ladies perfume/ eau de toilette)?

We have some OBC to spend and if these are stocked on board Mariner there will be no need to bring some with us or buy at the airport.

    Look forward to a reply

    Many thanks

  8. Swabs,

To link the other couple with your reservation, you need to select the option to not share a table. This is counterintuitive but if you select the share a table option you will not be able to link the other couple. Once you select the do not share option, you will be given the opportunity to input the other couple's booking number. The system will then add the other couple to your reservation.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Dave for your reply , just to expand on this a little.....

Does this mean that only one couple needs to make the booking and reserve the table for the 2 couples??

And if this is the case and I book a table for the 4 of us at each restaurant does this mean our friends can also book for the four of us??? ie we manage to get 2 reservations at each restaurant??

    Sorry if this sounds confusing.

  9. Whilst we are on the subject of P7 & Signatures can someone advise me re the online booking procedure.

We have previously only traveled on Regent as a couple so booking was straight forward. However on our next cruise in December we are travelling with another couple ( but we have booked seperately).

How do we book a table for 4 ie myself + other half and our 2 friends ????

    All comments gratefully received.

  10. I don't think we in the UK get OBC as frequently as our friends across the pond.

Our next cruise Cape Town to Rio we have $500 OBC per suite but this was part of the deal offered by our travel agent. It sounds from reading CC that in the States OBCs are given for using credit cards, regular travel agents and instead of discounts. I maybe wrong.

  11. Could I revert to the original topic here? We are booked in for a Regent cruise fairly soon, and wonder how one can ask for special drinks etc. in the suite. Unlike Seabourn, it seems that one is provided with 'soft drinks and beer', none of which we drink apart from tonic with G and T. We only want the sort of thing bound to be included anyway.

There does not seem to be any facility to get in touch with them in advance, having filled in all the information about our trip online, to ask any questions.

Advice please? (We are in the UK)

Evening Lincslady, as has already been mentioned your room steward/ stewardess normally call in on your arrival to introduce themselves and check everything is OK for you. Its at this point we have placed our requests - usually a bottle of Gordons for me ( Not Hendricks...... too peppery)!! and a bottle of whiskey ( choice depends what mood my other half is in). And as previously mentioned this appears within the next couple of hours.

Re Champagne - we have always had a bottle on ice awaiting our arrival and I believe this is the norm.

Cheeky I know, but if we do not finish the spirits we have been known to decant them into empty plastic water bottles and bring them home!

I hate to think of them going to waste!!

  12. Is am in the UK

Our travel insurance is far from cheap particularly if travelling outside Europe and especially if travelling to USA.

The policy needs to be in place as soon as we make a reservation and covers cancellation of the holiday, (due to unexpected ill health) loss of luggage, etc as well as medical cover.

  13. Hi Snackdaddy, I think Regent need to sort their pricing policy. I think it is wrong to be penalised for booking early.

Also had the pre cruise safari been included in all suite categories at the start my OH and I would have booked an h grade as usual ( or an h/g guarantee) then had the chance of an upgrade .....

I am afraid when I contacted my TA the second time my email to her was a real rant !! I had had a bad week at work and to come home and find that not only had Regent included the safari but also greatly reduced their prices was more than I was prepared to put up with!

I am sorry you appear to have not got anywhere with Regent, I wonder if it's anything to do with the difference in the Regent USA / UK sales policy?? Having said that as reported earlier my TA had informed me that Regent UK had had to discus the case with the parent office in USA????

I have learnt by this...... And as have done previously ....... Will in future book last minute..... Book a guarentee suite.... And be prepared for the surprise of being allocated a suite a few days prior to travel... Which is quite exciting !
