I agree with not venturing off, though when we were there, only 1 of the two bear tours saw bear.

There is a mile hike along the shore from Icy Strait Point (where tenders dock) to Hoonah, where cool places like The Office are. One couple on our ship saw a whale breech from that trail.

Glacier Wind has gone silent. Has anyone heard from them since they returned from vacation?

Last heard from them on the 20th.

Thanks for the analogy, Hank! I've done Angel's Landing, and backpacked in Zion NP, so why should I be so concerned about missing the ship. Definitely puts things in perspective.
