No to the Opera show, although they have a M/F singer that could fill that part if they did a show like that; both had very powerful voices.   They did the 80s party, but it was a bust.  The DJ at the 80s party was no bueno.  He actually played two songs that I had never heard before which I thought was impossible.  I sat with some new friends and drank until 2 am instead.   The best one was the silent disco  ( with a different DJ) where one wears the headphones and tunes into channel of your choice and then dances!.  It is very cool and is very early on in the cruise so don't miss it.   To observers it looks wacky, to participants, its very unique, and very fun!   Daytime master chef at sea was one day where they take 3 audience members.  The host guy was funny and it was something different and nice to do one afternoon.

I was on the Meraviglia in 2019 b4 Covid for Thanksgiving, and the silent disco was held in the theater where Cirque was performed…glad you had a great time…didn’t enjoy it due to not a lot of room to dance in the theater and had been on the NCL Bliss the year b4, where they had an area built just for the silent disco.. and was setup whereas the music came from the diff areas as you moved around the room..it was really fun.. had I not don’t it on the Bliss to know what to expect.. probably would have had a diff opinion..

Thanks so much for all the info you provided.. the 80’s party they had b4 the Covid was a blast.. they had it in the promenade with screen in the ceiling showing dif 70’s 80’s stuff..

OBC is generally credited to your onboard account.  I can’t imagine your case being any different, TG.   Perhaps you’ll come back and let us know so your experience can be shared with others who may have a similar situation.

Will do...My cruise is not until November, I tried to find out more info from the gal who books casino bkgs, but she did know anything bout obc's from the casino.

In the past cash out by casino was possible at X as well but nowadays you need to play all the obc, you are able to cash the winnings only.

I've a lot of, so all into a slot machine, play one game, cash out?

Markus I was wondering if that would be the same for MSC😏, I was hoping I would not be.. I guess I gots to do some winning💲💲💲

I don’t understand the reference to casino OBC.

I have an offer for a discount thru the casino and the offer shows obc`s. I bkd the cruise and she saw no obc's on my booking.. I was told by the casino when I recd the offer that I would need to bring the letter with me.

Any OBC you have is assigned to your onboard account.  When you’re using the slots, you can credit an amount to the machine and it’s debited from/to your onboard account.

These are obc from casino, I was told that I will need to bring my offer letter with me, so are you saying when I get on board they will be automatically added to my account

Yes you can.  You can charge amounts on the machines to your onboard account where your OBC rests as credits.   You don’t have to play it all, either.   You can always cash out whatever you don’t use.  I know that you can also use it at the tables but am not familiar with the process as I’ve never done it.

Beamafar, I was searching for answers for obc’s that the casino give you and came across this answer..wasn’t sure if this answers my question? The OBC that casino gives are credits? Is that correct? and you don’t have to play all of them? Is that what u are saying?

I was sleeping so well last night, and the dreams were coming in hot and heavy... I think it has something to do with the earplugs. It just isolates your mind and lets it wander.

By the time I finally got out of bed I figured it would be about 10:00 but it was 7:10 on my watch, which means 8:10 on the ship. Not that bad. I came up to the observation lounge for a coffee and a bit of peace and quiet while I wake up from my slumber.

Following Sid I love your reviews I have followed you on Carnival cruises and now my husband and I have booked our first NCL and I was checking out their board and saw you over here. AWESOME!!

We are super excited about our a Breakaway cruise in Oct but are worried about the night life.. On Carnival we normally do a comedy show or productions list show, drinks and then late night pizza.  Maybe a stop by at the dance club if it looks like the spot to be, but I have seen some reviews that says NCL night life ends at about 11pm.. Can you give some insight to this??

    Thank you and Great Review!!!

I believe food and bev goes until 2/3ish and then if you still want late pizza or food after that, you can pay a $8.95 room service charge and order whatever you want (for free) until breakfast starts again at about 5:30/6.

After hours food dining on the Breakaway is O'Sheehan's Neighborhood Bar & Grill open 24 hours with wings, and not sure if they have fish and chips??  and other late night food... I know it’s a limited menu .... this is a complimentary dining.. pizza after hours and room service is a fee..

I was scouting for observation lounge chair hogs and found these fancy velvet towels on the long seats. I guess this is their answer to the bare feet situation.

  11. A few of the copies I have of the "Carnival Capers", which is now the "Fun Times", from our Festivale cruise in 1992. It was a 7 day cruise out of San Juan, PR, on the southern itinerary (San Juan; St. Thomas; St. Maarten/St. Martin; Dominica; Barbados; Martinique; Sea Day; San Juan).

    Hey Tom,

I want to be like you & Cheryl when I grow up:o... If you 2 keep cruising like u'all are doing?? I 2 will cross paths with u'all... Hope u had a nice one last week...I am hoping to go on the Epic for Thanksgiving due to my birthday being on Thanksgiving this year... would like to go with u'all on the 11/26, but there r NO more studios left...What the heck??? Will keep you posted.

  13. Don

On 5 page now... I see that you did have Natalie... She is the best... Oh and Natalie will be back... she emailed me and told me she got another contract with the Epic and was the only one... and was a little upset cause one of her best friends did not and was leaving the ship...she wanted me to come back on the cruise when her mum was coming... next week... but it was too expensive... had to go with the cheap Carnival with my family... I looked back at some of my old post.... cause I thought I remembered you... you watch my video... for the walk I did from the elevators to the living room to my room...

I will try to read all before I post again...

  14. An addition breakfast selection for topping your freashly-toasted bagel . . .

There were even light breakfast selections back at Spice H2O, at the rear of the ship.

And for those who've traveled on Carnival Cruise Lines in the past few years . . . look at this (below), and answer the question, "What's wrong with this picture??"

    1229281020_zuz2p-L.jpg

Yes, I know. Gasp! The serving tongs are in the wrong position. What a loser cruise line NCL must be to offer their passengers the opportunity to select their meat products (bacon in particular) for their breakfast plates. What's wrong - Can't you afford the "Bacon Police" who will properly plop two wet slices of bacon on your plate, and then grimmace if you request a third?? You're gonna go broke, NCL. You're gonna go broke.

[ please tell me you got the complete sarcasm in that last bit ] :p

    Hey Don

I am just on the 3 page... but had to stop... My co-workers think I have issues anyway... but when I saw this I laugh so loud...I just got off of the Valor on Sunday... I had read about the "Bacon Police" but had forgot about it until breakfast...the 1st day my daughter-n-law did not have an encounter with the "BP" she was able to reach back in the back and get the tongs and get her own... she did not believe me until the next day... Hey "what's up with that anyway" ????

Was on the Epic in November... best cruise everrrrrrrrrrr... I was also in a Studio room... I was in 12512... You are a very badd badd person...

I am so mad at you with this review.... It is so good... that I am thinking of how I will be planning my next trip (hopefully in November) after I find another job.... My job will be ending in June (ish) July... But I have got to get back on the Epic... and after going Carnival last week... It only made me miss NCL so much more... I enjoyed my platinum privileges but I sure did miss that Epic and thought about her a lot... so glad I did not see her in any of the ports... they were a day ahead of us at each port... Hey did you have Natalie as your host for the solo group???

The parties were fun. White Hot Party, Fabba, and Zouk were all themed dance parties and meant to be fun. Silas Cook, the Cruise Director does an excellent job, as does his crew.

Hey... So glad you had a great time...

I am on the Eastern, what day was the White Hot Party and the other parties? More interested in the White Hot Party... I have the Blue Man Group reserved for Saturday, heard that is the best time to go due to everybody trying to get a fill of ship... When I booked the Blue Man I forgot about the parties... I do not want to miss the White Hot Party...:p don't know anything about the others... but would be interested in going to those too...
