  1. I, for one appreciate their "rule". I agree with other posters, I would be upset if 28 people came through every night at a time other diners are trying to get seated in anytime dining. I also agree with the other posters that the fixed time dining is the best place for your group. Grow up and quit being so...well I guess I had better not say. Dining is for everyone to enjoy not just your special group. Others wish to dine at that hour as well and marking tables off just for you all would be unfair for the rest of the passengers. Only so many can be seated in the open times, your group does not deserve to take up most of the open time spots for that particular time. I will get off my soap box for now and wish you a pleasant journey on HAL. Hope your mood lightens.

My DH had a great idea for you...charter your own ship then you can crash the dining room whenever you want

  2. From the way you are writing about the next year and the Night Safari, it sounds like you are planning on being on the 2015 WC as well? I sure hope so, as Bill and I have signed up for this cruise for our first WC. We would love to pick your brains for ideas in each city especially Singapore and other Asian/Middle East cities. I hope to meet you all as well as your blogs have helped us to make the lap to the WC next year.

  3. go to the third heading where it shows all the roll calls, go to Holland America's roll calls, the open Prinsendam, scroll down to May 24, 2014 Kiel Canal and Baltic Explorer 14 Days..that is the title of your cruise's roll call , open this to the last page, then post a reply, you do not want to start a new thread....try it and see if it posts ok for you

  4. Hi Bill and Mary Ann...we met you on the Statendam for the Hawaii/Polynesia Cruise this past Sept-Nov. We were the ones in charge of the cruise critic meet and greets....I will be a dedicated follower of your WC. We have thought about the WC but decided on the 42 day Maasdam Atlantic Adventurer...so we will be intentive to catch all the hints we can from you all. Thanks for posting....

  5. There is always one who believes he/she can break all the rules. Running on the promenade deck is restricted for a reason...you can run around the upper pool deck which is where the staff will also run. That is acceptable and much better than believing you are owed something you are not. There are signs and reasons for restrictions, you should have the courtesy to abide by the cruise line rules. In my humble opinion, that is. Recently on a 35 day cruise all who wanted to run ran around the upper pool deck and left the promenade deck to the walkers as it should be. Thanks for listening to my opinion.

  6. I have to agree with this board...not worth the price. The menu was very limited, the soup was horrible and the staff was over worked so were not as attentive as I like in the Pinnacle. Overall our experience plus some of the others we met on the Statendam did not enjoy our dinner. Most all cancelled their next reservations. We had three set dates for this meal on our latest cruise....I am sure we will not go again. We do enjoy the Pinnacle Grill and the menu there is great.

  7. As we also like Celebrity our last cruise was a 14 day on the Eclipse. I purchased the Premium liquor package. Don't know if I got all my monies worth, but, did find it very convenient and a little extra liquor was usually poured. I also did not notice any more "Partiers" than usual. Actually, since Celebrity seems to be a little younger crowd than HAL, I was expecting to see more, but, I didn't. I believe the price point is the main issue here, and I did like the idea of paying ahead for the package as I could budget the trip more accurately. I applaud HAL for giving this a try as this seems to be the trend of other cruise line.
