How do I find out which port we will dock at? We are on Norwegian and they just say we will dock at Arecife port.
I have booked car hire from Lanzarote cruising port office which I believe is the port furthermost from town.

Make sure you book your entrance as soon as you can. You will not be able to just walk up and get in. You have to pre-book and if you get a chance to go up one of the towers I would also recommend that. You go up in a lift and walk back down and it is amazing to look at all the intricate carvings on the way back down.

Thank you John Bull.
I have changed my car time and am now comfortable with being able to enjoy our day.

We are travelling with Norwegian and they have changed our arrival time from 9am to 10am. We have already booked our car but just wanted to check whether we will have enough time to pick up car and do volcano trip and be back in time for 6pm departure (5pm back on ship) without being rushed. Thank you in advance.

Have booked a car with Avis.
A bit more expensive than some other places but we like the freedom to stop when we please.
You have been a great help paul58
Cheers

Thank you both for this advice. We are from Australia so drive on the same side as you so that would not be a problem but seems getting a temp licence could be a hassle.
Could you give me an approximate cost of a tour around the island in a taxi.
Thank you once again, I love that I can ask questions on these boards and the answers are always helpful 😀

We would like to rent a car in St Kitts to drive around and do our own thing.
Does anyone know if there is a rental agency at the cruise terminal or the closest one for us to walk to.
Thank you in advance.

We are cruising on the Norwegian Star for a birthday celebration and wanted to treat our guests to a specialty restaurant meal. We know that most of them are now a-la-carte rather than a set price.
Can anyone tell me the prices or does anyone have any photos of the a-la-carte menus.
Also we all have unlimited beverage packages and I was wondering if :Dwe can use our UBP in the specialty restaurants or do we need to buy bottled wines. Thank you in advance. :D

Did Arcadia Air Tours flight out of Bar Harbor a few years ago. One of the highlights of our cruise. Their office is right at the cruise terminal and they drive you to and from the airport. The planes are all replica bi-planes with open cock pits. It was amazing flying over Arcadia National Park in an open cock pit. We had a great day in Bar Harbor. Did the National Park bus tour through the park in the morning and the flight in the afternoon. Saw the park from all angles. Book direct with the owner, he will look after you.

Thank you for your replies. We are on the Norwegian Jade and stop in Reykjavik for 2 days. We leave at 4pm on the 2nd day so would probably need to get the car back by about 2-2:30pm. Just didn't know if this would be enough time to do the Golden Circle on our 2nd day. Reading comments it seems that the south coast is well worth it so think we will do that day one and then do as much of the Golden Circle as we can on day 2 and probably skip Blue Lagoon. Any comments on this?

We have hired a car for our 2 days in Reykjavik and need some help planning.
We will definitely do the Golden Circle but are undecided whether to drive the south coast as far as Vik or just explore Reykjavik itself and do the Blue Lagoon. If we drive the south coast we will do that on our full day and then have less time to do the Golden Circle on our 2nd day.
So the question is do long day Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon and Reykjavik or South Coast and short day Golden Circle.
All comments greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

Has anyone parked their car at the Venice Passenger Terminal right at the port?

We did a private tour with TJ Tours and could not have been happier. There were 4 of us and we had a brand new Mercedes van with driver and guide who spoke perfect English. We did not have to pay a deposit and they sent us tickets via email to get us through customs. When we got to the other side our guide was waiting for us. We planned our own itinerary and they took us everywhere we wanted plus more. We wanted to see how the locals lived and went to the food market, the underground and the oldest food store in the city. We also went to local restaurants for lunch both days. When we were picked up on the 2nd day our guide took us to here local supermarket as she knew we were interested in seeing how she lived. We did not have to pay anything until the 2nd morning when we went to a souvenir shop to pay the TJ representative. There was no pressure to buy anything and we continued on our sightseeing day. We had early entry to the Hermitage and our guide showed us the highlights. There were hardly any other people there and that in itself made it worth doing a private tour. We had an amazing 2 days in this beautiful city and it was mainly due to the organisation and people skills of this company.

Thank you Keith Jenner you are a champion! I have cancelled my booking for Downtown and booked for Cruise Terminal. Your advice has been invaluable and I will think of you when I pick my car up at the cruise terminal instead of having to hike into town. All the best and I hope you have a great cruise.

I have also booked with Europcar but could not find an office for them at the cruise port could only find Downtown location. Would you be able to tell me how you booked at the cruise terminal. Thanks again!

Thank you Keith Jenner for your reply. Could you please let me know what car rental company you are using and the cost for 2 days.

We have 2 days in Reykjavik and were thinking about hiring a car for the 2 days. Has anyone done this and parked the car overnight or does anyone have any information on parking a vehicle near the cruise terminal. Thank you in advance.

We have 2 days in Reykjavik and would like to do a Golden Circle Tour on the first day and the Blue Lagoon on the second day. Does anyone have any suggestions on tour companies to use? Thank you.

Doing private tour in SPB and want an afternoon exploring the town with our guide ie. Nevsky Prospekt, markets, bars etc. This will cut down the time we will have to visit Peterhof and Catherines Palace. Which should we choose and if it is Peterhof is it worth going inside palace or just gardens or should we try to do inside Catherines and Peterhof gardens.
Also is it worth going into General Staff Building to see impressionists if so how long for or is it better to go to Peter and Paul fortress.
Thank you in advance, hope this not all too confusing.

We are travelling on Norwegian Star and are in Stockholm for one day on 13th September. Unfortunately the HOHO boat has stopped running and we would like to go to the VASA museum. Does anyone know any easy way to get there, we are docking at Stadsgarden, or a local tour that could pick us up and then drop us back in the old town. Thank you.

Has anyone been to the ABBA museum in Stockholm. We are on the Norwegian Star in September and dock at Stadsgarden. We want to go to ABBA museum and Gamla Stan, have been to Vasa museum previously. Any advice on transportation between the 2 would also be appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who replied to my question. It is $255 for us Aussies to get Russian visas so have decided to get our own guide. We are using a private guide called Nina Kazarina who was referred to me by Petersburg-Hautnah Tours who rate number one on Trip Advisor. If anyone has used Nina I would love to hear your comments. She has been very prompt with her replies and her English is very good. She is doing a private tour for the 4 of us and has tailored it especially for us with a lot of local sightseeing. We have included Petersgof and Hermitage and the best churches and a lot of time soaking up the local lifestyle so we are very happy with this.

I have booked a 2 day shore excursion in St Petersberg with Nina Kazarina. Has anyone used Nina before?
-
Thank you for your replies and especially Scubacruiser ;) for your encouragement.
We will probably spend most of our time in the city but thought we might get the hydrofoil to Peterhof.
Are there any problems getting the return trip on the hydrofoil ie are there large queues and is it a regular service.
Bird flu on South Georgia
in Antarctica

Presently on Silversea Silver Wind in South Georgia. We have only been able to go ashore to one penguin rookery and have been told the whole island will soon be closed to shore landings because of bird flu which has affected the seal population.
