I have been waiting for our cruise refund, I sent in the request with the refund code on the 8th June. Today I got a phone call, while I was out walking the dog, on a private number. She knew my name, said she was from Tui and was going to do the refund today, she knew the amount, but she had to ask some "security questions" , address, date of travel, destination ? Asked how I wanted it refunded, we paid debit card and cash but I asked for it to be put back on to card, she asked for card number. I didnt have the card with me so she said that someone else would phone me in the next couple of days, she didn,t have the card details . Does this sound right ? Has anyone else been paid back in this way? Its the private number that is worrying me.

Has anyone received a Refund credit e-mail and then tried to get a cash refund ? Sorry if this has been mentioned in another thread.

Looks like you will get a refund 12 months after your original departure date. It doesn,t say "up to ".

And then it takes 12 months from your holiday date to receive it ?

The latest Tui update , Friday afternoon, has different wording.

Am I right in thinking that if you claim a refund you wont get it until 12 months after your cruise date.

We are due to go on the 8th May and I received an e mail from Tui on Tuesday with my confirmation and my E ticket. I think its wrong that we are expected just to sit back and wait .

Has anybody recently received a phone call from Tui ? I have seen lots of posts from people who haven,t, me included ,but has anyone actually heard from them? Also, if you are dealing with a Tui shop surely they can,t have as many calls to make and should be processing them quicker.

According to their up date on April 9th all cruises up to 31st May are cancelled.

This morning I received an e-mail from Tui containing my E Ticket and confirmation for my forthcoming cruise on May 8th. Rub it in why don,t you !!! Obviously it has been cancelled, what a fiasco ! Couldn,t Tui even cancel those e mails being sent out ? So I presume I just ignore it?

Hopefully in 4 months the Tui shops will re-open and at least I will be able to go in and speak to someone.

I have read on Facebook about cruises that were cancelled in March and people still haven,t had a phone call from Tui. I know they are busy and they have a massive problem to deal with but are we really supposed to sit tight and wait. It doesnt seem right to me, I am really worried.

Exactly vwgolf, Coronovirus and Pandemics were the last thing on my mind when I sorted out insurance, I was more concerned about being flown home in a emergency. How things are changing !!

So if Marella decide to cancel your cruise, that is fully paid for, would they refund you or would you have to go through your insurance? Sorry if this has already been answered but starting to panic slightly.
