I loved sailing solo on Princess.  Never went to any of the solo meet ups (never looked for them)  We had a large rollcall here and on the other page we can't mention.  There were honestly about 25 solos - some of us met up for dinner, trivia, etc.  In fact 3 of us booked (separate cabins) for the Sun T/A in Sept.  The service was always great.  I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

    Guess I will go!

I just sailed solo for the first time on the Regal Princess to the Eastern Caribbean. There was a solo get together every night set up by the cruise staff. We met for drinks and then whoever wanted to continued to dinner. We dined with 8-12 every night. I too was worried about having to eat alone, but that was not a problem.

Good to hear as I plan on a solo cruise mid April out of Ft Lauderdale!

I’m interested in the answers you get. I’ve been on several Princess cruises but have my 1st solo with them in Nov. and it’s 11 nights.

Thinkin of booking Princess solo mid April out of Ft Lauderdale or perhaps NCL out of Miami.

Adventure of the Seas, Royal Caribbean Sept. 11 2021

My first cruise alone and my first cruise since 2016.  I cruised a lot before that, on Cunard, Celebrity, RC, Windstar, MSC, but have not done anything since my husband passed away four years ago.  I have missed being on the ocean and I LOVE RC, so am really looking forward to this trip!

You therefore should enjoy your solo cruise and probable meet other solo cruisers along the way !

I have a couple sailings out od Florida in October. From what I have been reading, the CDC has come out with a mandate that there will be NO SAILINGS over 7 days in the US Ports. Looks like your sailing makes many stops in the US and is 23 days.

Just asking since I have 11 nights booked in Oct 2021 and there is a question that with the current CDC mandates, that sailings over 7 days, before Nov 2021 have been stopped.

My 14 day princess cruise from Quebec to Florida late Oct.2021, was cancelled months ago!

Sorry to hear that. Looks like the cancellations are stretching further in to 2021. I hope they don't stretch all the way to Oct 2021 (I am booked on PoA, Oct 23-30, 2021).

Well my Princess cruise out of Canada was cancelled for this October!

May I ask why? Just curious. I've read here on cc that Carnival is not very "solo friendly".  If true, that's too bad because Carnival was my cruise line of choice when I wasn't a solo. I liked Carnival's "Fun Ship" concept.

I had also cruised carnival a lot 30 years ago. I do like it as a fun ship, however found cruising solo NCL is much better and I also enjoy their entertainment and food is much better on NCL!

skipperanne - would you mind sharing more of what you liked about going solo on MSC?  That's the next line I'd like to try (solo) and would love to hear your thoughts.

I have don carnival solo on 4 day cruise. Wouldn’t do any longer on that one.

NCL was a good experience. Done that several times on the newer bigger ships.

My next solo is not until February 2021...10-night southern Caribbean on Vision of the Seas.
Practically free, so I had to book it!

Good for you! Did the abc islands, 9 days on Royal last December !

I have cruised solo, a lot.   I am comfortable doing so.    I can say I have a lot of fun, eat exactly when and where I desire.  Take excursions or just do nothing.  My choice.   I can talk to thousands or read a book.    I get off a cruise not exhausted but truly feel I was on a vacation.   You will find it is all on your time.   Your way.   Hope your adventures find you smiling and enjoying

Curious as to which cruise line you like best for solo cruising as I have only done NCL.

Hi, I know most of the mainstream lines go to the Caribbean...…….I see you live in South Florida so the ports are very easy for you.  I would say look at Celebrity (I believe Equinox does the Caribbean in the summer) and she is definitely smaller than Allure.  Also, I think Princess and NCL go to the Caribbean in June.  I would look at their websites or find a local TA by you and see what they say. And there is Carnival too.

Thanks for your input. Yes I will dig my heels in and check them out.😅

Allure is an amazing ship! I cruised her solo two years ago. My trip report is in my signature, if you're interested.

Looking to do a solo cruise early June, however I think the Allure is too big. !

Any thoughts on other solo cruises for June?
