  1. Does anyone know if Capt Kate will be on the Equinox on March 30th?
  2. We were in 1111, the room was very nice and we didn't experience any noise. We did have the problem of getting "but dialed" by the ships crew many times during the night. They all carry their phones on their belts and when they lean up against something the right way they press all the 1's and would call our room. We told ships relations about it, but really nothing they could do. We took our phone off the hook each night and solved the problem.
  3. For an informal meal, go to Garbo's Grill! They have great burritos and tacos. Its a tiny food trailer with seating outside, or inside at the bar that they park behind.
  4. I have been doing a lot of research on the Galapagos for the past couple of years. We have a deposit on the Xpedition, but we will be transferring that to another ship because I just booked with OAT for January in the Galapagos and Machu Pichu. We will be on a 16 passenger ship. The overall trip is 17 days and it was $10,000 cheaper than Celebrity. Alcohol is not included on OAT, but there is no way that our bar bill will be that much! I also liked that we will go to a lot of "non touristy" places, like schools and personal homes, and get a feel for how the people live in Peru.
  5. Has anyone snorkeled in Costa Maya. We will be there for the first time this June, and we would love to snorkel the reef. Any recommendations?
  6. The taste of film is a lot of fun. We did it on the Summit about a year ago, there was a $15 charge and they played the movie Chef. Every time he cooked something in the movie they would bring us a sample....pork belly, cuban sandwich, bingets, etc. I think they served us around six different things. We had gone to dinner prior to the movie and wished that we hadn't. We just got off the Summit last week, and they were still playing Chef. We had hoped that it would be a different movie, and we would have gone again.
  7. Thank you for your response! All the reviews for OAT look great, but it is good to hear from someone that has actually done a trip with them. Did you feel that the amount of time that you had during the cruise portion of the trip was enough? We are in our 50's but very active and like to hike. The fact that OAT looks more active is a plus for us.
  8. Thank you for your response. We love Celebrity and know that we would have a wonderful time. The only reason that we are considering another tour company is because of the price. It is almost 10,000 more total to go to the Galapagos and Macchu Picchu with Celebrity! One thing that concerns me about the OAT trip is that it is only 4 days in the Galapagos on the boat. Is that enough time to really see everything? We like that Celebrity spends 7 days there. On the flip side, OAT does a more extensive tour of Peru and Macchu Picchu. Another thought would be to do OAT for the land based and Celebrity for the cruise. Has anyone done this?
  9. Going to the Galapagos and Macchu Picchu has been on our bucket list for almost 20 years. We are planning on actually doing it in 2019! While on board a Celebrity ship last year we booked the Expedition with a land tour extension to Macchu Picchu. Recently we got a mailing from Overseas Adventure Travel with some amazing deals, and it is significantly less that Celebrity. I know that there are a lot of other companies out there also, but would like some recommendations. I would love to hear from someone who has been there, and who you have used. This is a dream trip for us, and I would love to save some money but also want to have a great experience.
