  1. Not sure where you are from but here is some quick Canadian math... The package price for a 7 night is $538.00 Canadian pp. given that a blender drink is roughly $12 US +18% grat also US dollars + 33% exchange = around $19.00 per drink Canadian dollars. OUCH !!!!! So that being said only 4 drinks a day is break even and that does not include waters and soda. (My wife LOVES freestyle machines). When we go with kids, soda package. No kids, premium package it is !!!

    Well worth it...

  2. This is a nice perspective. I suppose even if we skip a port it's just another day to spend the day with the family on an awesome ship.

Any chance at all the police would be here if there weren't a death?

Now you have it figured out !!! Bottom line is you are healthy and on vacation with family... Enjoy your trip and many more to come...

  3. On board now. We've been at port for a while now.

I feel awful for the families involved but the selfish part of me wonders what we do about our missed excursions (or whole day!) in labadee. We were excited to zip line for the first time ever. And do we get partial discounts if the stop is missed?

They really aren't telling us anything.

Wondering if we should be storming the customer service desk for info or if we should just stay put

    Eta: investigation? Uh oh

REALLY?? That is possibly the worst/heartless post I have ever read....

  4. Have used them in the past and will be using them again next Monday, they are top notch ! To answer your question.... They will pick you up right at the drop off area for tenders. They will also return you there or drop you at 7 mile beach if you wish. I can't wait to go again!!!

  5. We went with Floyd and Marjorie at F.I.S.H.E.S on May 11 and we were delayed getting off of Radiance at we were greeted with a smile by Marjorie even though we were late. We too were the only 3 on the morning trip and all I can say is WOW !!! They are such nice people you truly will have the time of your life. I think I took around 500 pictures. Our 6 year old was with us and had a great time. Enjoy and don't fret over being a little late, just try your best and enjoy !! Tell them Todd, Kim, and Wyatt said HI !!!

  6. We just returned from our cruise on May 16 and we used F.I.S.H.E.S in Icy Strait Point. We were his first trip of the 2014 season. Max capacity on the boat was 6 people and they were unbelievable people to deal with. They treated us like family from start to finish. We seen breaching humpbacks, porpoise, a grizzly, sea lions, puffins, and i lost count of how many bald eagles. We got amazing pictures as Floyd (The captain) never rushed us and was very informative and asked us what we would like. It was far more reasonable than booking through the ship and far more personal. Our 6 year old son was with us and he had an experience of a lifetime as did my wife and I !! I'm sure there are others that are good also, but this was our experience. Hope this helps...

  7. I once ran into a similar situation in the dining room for breakfast while sitting with my 4 kids. A very well dressed D+ lady and her husband were sat with us at a table and she was NOT happy about it. I made conversation with her husband and tried my best with her. My kids, ages 4, 9, 10, and 12 at the time all introduced themselves and proceeded to very politely order their own meals. The lady looked in shock and soon began talking with them. After breakfast she pulled me aside and apologized and stated how well behaved they are. Throughout the cruise she would stop and chat and even saved us seats for the pirate parade. Sometimes it takes just a little stubbornness to make them open their eyes...

That being said... Heaven help someone other than a ships employee ask me or my kids to prove our right to be in the CL !!! I can be fairly blunt also!:D I guess we will find out in December.

  8. Well... I do agree that this sucks, but... I will still purchase simply due to the fact that I have 4 kids and my wife and I. Deposits for our cruises can tie up $1500.00 without one. When the urge comes to book this makes a large difference. While I know I will be paying this at some point anyway, it does allow flexibility in booking plus we usually end up with double the OBC because with 6 of us it is 2 bookings but somehow only 1. Now I've confused myself.... So the short answer is yes i would prefer $100 but it helps my booking decisions with the reduced deposit. And 25 bucks in my pocket is 25 bucks !!!

  9. Glad you stuck with it and made the call. We were upgraded to a RFS on a Freedom sailing in 2013 and it was awesome. I really dislike the buffet for breakfast and it was lovely to sit at the large, 6 person table on the balcony and have a room service breakfast brought each morning.

If you don't mind me asking, do you have any pictures of the RFS? I booked a RFS for Nov. on Freedom for our crew of 6 and I too am looking forward to breaks on the balcony!!

  10. My beautiful "spoiled rotten" :D kids will be turning Emerald by the end of the year on there own points. Ages 6,11,13,15 so clearly the 6 year old will benefit the most by age 18 but the others have a time to build still also. They have seen/learned a lot and have met kids from across the globe that they continue to stay in touch with today by cruising. That itself is worth far more than status...

  11. So our family just booked the Royal Family Suite (9408) on FOS. Been on Freedom many times but never in a "suite". If you have had this suite, tell me about or better yet show me if you have pics. And perks... I think I will like perks as will my 6yr old whom is already excited that he can get poached eggs for breakfast via room service to eat on the balcony !!! Lord help me... Looking forward to some info and thanks in advance.

  12. My vote goes to Country Inn & Suites Port Canaveral. Stayed many times and it has a great shuttle service and includes breakfast (saves some $$$). And it is closest to the pier. I like looking out in the morning and seeing the ship... Just another option!

  13. Just going to throw this out there... I am about the same distance from Buffalo as Toronto and you may want to look at flying Southwest from Buffalo. Not only is it WAY cheaper (I just paid $143.00 one way) to Seattle for our Alaska cruise, but it offers up many more time options. Just sayin' ....

  14. We are also flying into Seattle a day early in May and want to take the train to Vancouver to catch our cruise. I want to do a few key things while in Seattle but have no idea where to stay. I want to go to Pike Place Market and the Needle. My 6yr old (and me) want to ride the train and relax and look around so a car is not needed. So a hotel central to Pikes and the train station would be best just like I believe the OP is looking for also... Thanks

  15. I had the same post about 4 weeks ago... I too had many responses claiming different nights. On the Nov. 18 sailing on Majesty it was on night 2. I guess I will see what Enchantment is next week! And as a side note, I'm not sure why "Formal" has different definitions according to cruise duration. We always dress up for formal night as it is called Formal.... Enjoy!!!
