Any replies to the current "Hot Topics" will just be corporate BS and I don't think they have any plans to actually address the current concerns from loyal passengers. This event is all about CoCo Cay, Port Canaveral and the amazing loss of 10+ day itineraries in the Caribbean so they can have more family friendly 7 day sailings. I will watch until I can't stand it anymore....should be about 10 minutes into the talk.

You nailed it.  And by the way, they have added a huge number of 4, 5 and 6-night  sailings, too. To Bimini, CocoCay & Nassau. It’s even worse than I thought.

Oh, and I never got the invite anyway.

  2. I’m so sorry for all of you who have been double & even triple cancelled in a few months. The pattern of business decisions affecting thousands are worse than even I expected. The current regime led by the new CEO is obviously looking only at short term revenue with no care for customers or goodwill. Shame on them.

So first I had the Beyond 11/1/24 TA cancelled with no price protection, then I  moved to 11/9/24 Apex TA, now that is cancelled with no options to move to any other cruise, not even the soon-to-be-announced new Apex TA.

I am racking up the OBC, though 🙄

Not neccesarily. See this from cancelled Apex TA roll call.

"On the phone with Celebrity to rebook. I have $425 OBC  from a previous cancellation.  They are telling me that I will lose that and only get $200 OBC. To replace it.  Is that correct?"

  4. Hello fellow cruisers,

As a loyal and long-term Celebrity cruiser, I am starting to do some due diligence for other cruise lines.  Of course, I have a lot of research to do but thought I'd ask you experts who have also been Celebrity cruisers. Some info about us. We are in our 60s/70s, typically travel with friends of similar age, looking for interesting itineraries, excellent meals (we like the size and ambiance of BLU), lounge spaces with live music of various kinds, nice seating spaces to relax, chat, have a cocktail or coffee, somewhat reasonable pricing (whatever that means for you) for balcony cabins (don't need suites.)

Would love to hear your thoughts with some details, and thank you in advance.  💗

Yes...$200 OBC offered for inconvenience...but we already had OBC...if we rebook, I wonder if that's gone the way of the dodo.

Report from a passenger on the Apex TA roll call.  So, yeah.  The dodo.

Routine inspections for a 3 year old ship?  I guess I can understand why.  But wouldn't Celebrity have this on their schedule when booking sailings?  Seems like someone is a bad project manager.

Celebrity had already changed this TA which was scheduled to originate in Southhampton a few months ago (in May/June) and many booked passengers had already changed their itinerary to accommodate this ship's new schedule.  This is NUTS!

  7. ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS

    Dear Guest,

At Celebrity Cruises, we are passionate about providing award-winning vacation experiences. With this goal in mind, and in accordance with global ship safety guidelines, Celebrity Cruises will be revising Celebrity Apex’s season schedule to include drydock for routine inspection in 2025, instead of 2024 as originally scheduled.  As a result of this rescheduling, select Celebrity Apex sailings scheduled to embark November 9 & 21, 2024, and March 8, 2025 through April 26, 2025, will be cancelled.

For any payments made toward your sailing, you will automatically receive a 100% refund to your original method of payment. No action is required on your part to receive this refund, which you should see reflected within 30 days after cancellation (cruise taxes and fees will be refunded separately). Please note, any reservation paid with Future Cruise Credit will not be eligible for a cash refund; however, your Future Cruise Credit will be reinstated.

If you have pre-booked any shore excursions, beverage, internet, specialty dining, or other onboard packages through Celebrity Cruise Planner, you will be refunded in full to your original method of payment.  Guests with hotel reservations booked through Flights by Celebrity will be refunded automatically (you will not need to call in to initiate the process).  Guests with independent accommodations or excursions should contact their tour operators directly to make all required modifications.

As we never wish to complicate your vacation planning, we sincerely appreciate your understanding. In the hopes that you’ll discover an alternative bucket-list vacation with Celebrity Cruises, we are happy to offer you $200 onboard credit per stateroom, $400 onboard credit for Retreat accommodations, to be redeemed on a future cruise.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Celebrity Cruises at 1-844-418-6824 in North America or (316) 554-5961 worldwide. We look forward to welcoming you aboard soon for an amazing Celebrity Cruises vacation.

    Sincerely,
    Celebrity Cruises

That’s great news for you. Not much of a sale for us Canadians. I just checked and it’s $25.50 a day to upgrade to the premium pkg. it says on the website a 5% pre savings cruise deal…lol

The 50% off flash sales were on last week on some cruises. Someone posted it here on CC so I just lucked out.  Keep checking!

    Hi

Just booked a med cruise on Silhouette. It will be our first time with Celebrity we've done several TA on Cunard and also cruised with P&O & Ambassador. I'm hoping people here can answer a few little questions and share any insider knowledge that could make our experience the best it can be.

We are in one of the angled obstruceted view balconies on deck 6 (cos all the V2's had gone in less than 48 hours of seeing the deal!) I've seen a photo of the view and I think that will be fine for us as we are used to the sheltered balconies on QM2 My big question regarding this is can people on deck 5 look up at you?  Is there anything else we should know about this type of cabin - I can see from the deck plan its near the lifts.

Are there facilities in the cabin to make hot tea or coffee? Do they have cotton wool ballsl/cotten buds in the bathrooms?

Our price was AI but I can see that lots of drinks are priced just over the inclusive price limit (classic) though I think it'll probably just pay the difference rather than upgrade as the price difference is unlikely to exceed the upgrade cost. Unless anyone thinks that logic is flawed? I'm a little concerned reading reviews about difficulty getting served drinks especially in the MDR. Is that a real problem or just an isolated experience? Or perhaps a post covid hiccup ascruising resumed and now resolved?

Im' excited to get to explore a new ship & experience a new cruise line, I've heard other people say its a good one so I hope we find that. Anything we should look out for, definitely try or seek out like finding Homer on QM2. 🙂

    Thanks

    Wendy

Keep an eye out for “flash sales” on your cruise.  The decision to upgrade to premium is all about the price.  Just upgraded for $9.99 a day with a flash sale (50% off) and I know it will definitely be worth it for me.

The menus aren’t reliable until sailing.  If you want an idea of the menu look at the app for the ships current sailing.
The menus may not be in the exact order you will have but they will be the current menus.

Thanx.  Was just loooking to book a specialty but it’s not even showing past day 8.

  11. Thinking this is just an error but seeing kids menu choices on BLU menu for upcoming NE/Canada cruise in Sept.  Presume it’s just an error? Have others noticed that?  Will eventually call but just asking here as no time to spend an hour on the phone today.  🤷🏻‍♀️

Unfortunately, Vtcruising passed away and no one else can access the spreadsheet to update it.

Thanks so much!  I thought it was me not correctly following the search instructions.  Much appreciated.  Hope this gets seen by others as well.  Surprised moderator hasn't put that message on first post where the link is, or maybe they have and I missed it.

So sorry to hear about Vtcruising.  Rest in peace.

This is a great idea.  I wouldn't even care if they charged a bit extra.  I bring so many toiletries and OTC meds and most of the time don't need any of them.  This would save a lot of space in our carryon.

Truth.  Maybe if we cruisers picked an empty location (WCB bar tables during the day come to mind) and opened our own "pharmacy hours" with the thousands of OTC meds we all bring on board, Celebrity would get the message.

Perhaps on sea days Blu could be the venue from 10.30 - 2pm for the brunch several of us think could go down well. No impact on Aqua guests…It may also encourage guests who haven’t considered Aqua Class before to consider looking at it for the next cruise after experiencing the venue. A sales plug as well as a dining earner for Celebrity!

I like your thinking!  It's a shame that such a beautiful venue is empty on sea days.

It’s not fresh on a cruise ship.  The lobster we get in Maine is fresh, reasonably priced, and always better as a lobster roll.  There are certain foods that translate well to cruise ships and lobster is not one of those.

I’m definitely looking forward to our  Canada/NE cruise next month for many reasons but fresh lobster rolls is definitely up there among them. Yum!

During one of my Celebrity cruises some 20 years ago, I ordered a second lobster tail and I apologized to the Assistant Maitre d' because he was having to take the tail meat out of the shell twice.  His response was very gracious of course as he told me it was not a problem.  He then mentioned that there was a passenger that evening that had ordered 8 lobster tails....

On our last cruise in May, they just brought 2 per person without being asked.  We were seated with some folks we met on board and they asked for more-TWICE.  But honestly, they were really small.

and the wait staff were utterly gracious about it.

There is a publicly accessible information website that is actively maintained by Celebrity: TheCelebrityCommitment.com  The website is intended for those in the travel trade which includes travel agents, tour operators, wholesalers, online retailers, etc (I am neither).

The website is chock full of information  It includes flyers such as the one that I just posted.  The only problem with it is that it is cumbersome to wade through all the information and there is no easy way to tell if something is new since you last visited the site.  Nevertheless, I am sure you will like it.

Very cool to learn something new ever day!  Thanx.

Wow. I do remember they used to be in the classic package about 3 or 4  years ago.  Looks like we will be having to go to the premium package next April when we are sailing in a veranda cabin. We are so spoiled with suites our last several cruises, but just can't bear the prices after our next two cruises in Sept. and in Jan.

Check your cruise planner. Flash sales have a 50% off premium upgrade right now for some cruises.

Happy to learn Summit has been revolutionized!  Sailing Summit for first time next month.

Thank you. I liked the new decor and key card system on Equinox this year (I guess I was lucky to unknowingly book one of the "updated" cabins.)
