  1. When I posted this, the $500 cards were available, because someone else in our group got one. They obviously sold out super fast. I only mentioned the ones I brought. It's always best to check for yourself if you are interested in getting them. These updates are courteous, but never rely on them solely. I checked twice this morning. Third time was a charm.

I do check 3 to 4 times a day. As soon I saw your post (since I had already check 3 times this morning) I went to check again. I will keep checking. Thank you for posting.

  2. Well the $100 cards are sold out but the $500 are still available, this is by far the longest I have seen them avail..............

I was waiting for Black Friday to see if Carnival was going to put the GC on sale, but they never did. I thought that they might put them on sale on Cyber Monday, and they didn't. Now they are gone from AARP. I still need 2 $500. Hope that they come back soon.

  3. There was a thread on here from what happened last year. Not sure if they will this year.

It seems that they did a couple different ones last year, which I missed all of them. I haven't seen anything this year as of yet. Hoping that if someone sees something that they will post.

  4. I called the place where I am getting my trip insurance through yesterday and he looked at my policy and stated that it would be the same as cash. It did not specify no refunds on gift cards.

I have my email confirmations from aarp printed out and also my credit card statements where I purchased them and my printed receipt from Carnival. He stated that would be proof of what I paid for the trip.

I had seen a woman state that her insurance denied her claim where she paid for with gift cards but she never said if she had proof of purchase or if her insurance policy allowed them.

I would definitely check with your insurance carrier.

You used a carnival gift card for an independent insurance company? That seems odd.

  5. My purchase from 9/9 still hasn't shipped. :(

I called this morning and asked about it and the woman said that they are not in a status yet were we would have to worry, like if they were purchased 10 or 20 days ago. But I did purchase them 10 days ago.

Anyone else having trouble with a purchase from 9/9?

I also purchased on 09/09 and the status was changed to mailed on 09/11. They are suppose to be in my mailbox today.

  6. Yeah!! I bought 5 @ Verizon and 5 @ AARP. Wish they had the $500 denomination, but we're getting there.

I just got 3 on from AARP. It will be interesting to see which ones you get 1st. If you get a chance let us know. I have been ordering from AARP and letting my points keep rising at Verizon.

  7. I'm confused - do I call AARP? or do I call Carnival? I think I'm still dizzy from this merry-go-round! Thanks

The number is to AARP. Did you receive a confirmation email after your purchase from AARP? You can also look online at your account at AARP and it will tell you the status of your order.

  8. Do you know who I have to call? Number? I have called AARP's main number and they sent me to Expedia!! Called back and they sent me to membership. Called back and they sent me to life insurance. I feel like I'm on a merry-go-round. Thanks for your help

You should have received a confirmation email along with a phone number: If you have any questions, please contact Customer Service at 888-842-2891.

  9. Just got an email. Princess is offering a $25 gift card when you purchase $500. Dads & Grads promotion. Haven't gotten an email from Carnival yet.

I have been waiting also. I never received an e-mail from Carnival's gc sales. If anyone hears anything, please post. I have a Carnival cc, so if I can 10% off and double points that would be wonderful. Thanks everyone!

  10. The first ones I ordered came through snail mail. Only $100 and only took a few days. Last one was $500. It came UPS and I had to sign for it. Ordered the 6th and came the 10th.

This is my 1st time using AARP. I have always order from Verizon and they were over $500.00, so I know about signing for UPS. I knew that they were going to come via mail, but I thought a week should be long enough. I have been working 12 hrs a day at work this week and I didn't want to have to fool with UPS.

  11. I just got off the phone with AARP and she confirmed that they were mailed on June 6, and it will take upto 10 business days. So hopefully I get them soon. I am waiting for the cabanas to come available and want to pay using the gift cards. Thank you all for your input. Have a great weekend.

  12. Pat, I too ordered one on the 5th. It is "supposed" to come today via UPS since it needs a signature. With the order, I received an order confirmation on June 7 and an order "verification" that I needed to call (since I wasn't home when AARP called me) to verify it was me that ordered the card. I also received an email yesterday (June 11) indicating that the card had shipped. I had already received notice from UPS on June 10 that this had shipped

Thank you. I did receive an email on June 7, that stated "Thank you for your order" and that I would receive a confirmation email when you order was shipped. Have not received that email. When I log into my account it states shipped on June 6, but no information regarding the shipping method. I wasn't going to be home much to sign for anything so I order less than I normally would, just so I wouldn't have to deal with that. I will give them a call. I will check back after speaking with them.
