Will do! :)
I am going to post my question in general on the RCI thread.
I am hopping mad at the moment because of the big price drop on our cruise. I phoned our TA to ask if we could change our inside and balcony cabins to 2 guarantee balconies but the answer was NO. This was because apparently when I booked initially it was as a "group booking" but what is galling me is that I was never told that by the TA which I think is just a little bit sneaky. Surely I should have been told that or at least offered an individual booking. Now somebody is going to book last minute and get a higher catagory balcony than me for £800 less  TA's are always banging on about booking early to get the best discounts which is a complete contradiction to what has happened.

No worries Liz.
Glad you and Alex enjoyed your stay aboard the Indy :D

Hi Liz,
Gail here again.
Can you get a spray tan in the beauty salon?

Joanne,
Thanks for the snippet on the tea. You cant beat a cup of English breakfast tea to get the day started. Even better to hear there will be tea making facilities in the cabin so I will make room in my suitcase to bring the best tea in the world which is an own brand which I buy from a regional local supermarket.

Bild Em Bigger,
Thats a great help, thanks! We have gone ahead and switched. I have always wanted to try an aft cabin as so many people rave on these threads about them. Now I will be able to judge for myself whether its aft 4 ever or change back to mid ship next year.

Morning Liz,
We are on the 21st May sailing as you know:)
Looking at the deck plans cabin 8410 is available and we are thinking of upgrading. Do you think that cabin will be obstructed in any way shape or form?
Ta!

Some of are totally against anytime dining :( we tried it on NCL and never again.
I first came across anytime dining on Princess cruises and found it suited us much better. I usually go for 1st sitting as I find it difficult to eat after 7pm but I also like sailaway time so it can sometimes but a bit of a rush to get to the dining room for 6.15/6.30.
To each their own I guess.

Hi Liz,
If you get an invite to the Indy pre-inaugural I wonder if you could ask the "powers that be" if they intend to introduce anytime dining. Now that would be just perfect if they did :)

Hi i'm a newbie to this site and just wanted to say hello.:)
I will be sailing on Independence 9th august 08 and cannot wait. :D :D
Can anyone give me some good hotels close to the port of southampton to stay in on the 8th .
Milly XXX :)
Milly, last year we stayed at the Novotel close to the docks and found it very satisfactory for 1 night. This year we are on the 21st May sailing but some of our party have to work the day before so we are undecided yet whether to travel down late the evening before or get the train very early on the day of sailing.
I can virtually guarantee that by the time you get back from your cruise you will have been bitten by the "cruise bug" just ask Liz, it gets you like that doesn't it Liz :D

You would have thought so wouldn't you. Definitely a lesson learnt and it's the last business this particular TA gets from me.
