  1. Finally, it was time for the Love and marriage show. We always go to these. If you’ve been on a Carnival cruise more than a couple of times you know the questions/format is always the same. You also know that it doesn’t matter because it’s the participant responses that make it different...and funny every time. Tonight was no exception. Adam (cruise director) has been very visible but tonight was the first time we really got to see him as we haven’t gone to any of the cruise director talks or parties. We LOVE him. He is charming and funny too! I don’t know how I haven’t heard of him before. Really great and said he’s been with Carnival for 11 years. We didn’t get a drink in the liquid lounge but here is the drink menu. IMG_0588.thumb.JPG.e941958f1f6c145ee24fe4cc7a09903a.JPG

  2. We still had time so we went up to play miniature golf. My son is a good golfer and he does well at the mini form too...as does his dad....his mom?...now that’s another story. e759d41d8cc0b8289ea4f7efa896ef02.jpg

They also have pool and ping pong tables up here and in the area that’s enclosed the have a large pool table. I’m not sure how you play this...kicking the balls in???? Of course, there is a basketball court and this doubles as a soccer court. One of our waiters told us that earlier today he and other crew members played soccer up here on their time off.

  3. The Havana area is absolutely gorgeous and I’m sure it feels very private to have the pool and two large hot tubs available for just people staying in that area. After you pass the bar there is a cool lounge area and a band that plays just for that area. IMG_0555.thumb.JPG.d2bb53e31e6980beea8c2832df2f9697.JPG

I’m thinking if we ever stayed in Havana area I would definitely just go with an interior cabin. We walked around and saw the balcony areas and although the balcony area is large you really don’t get to see open water at all.

We made it to the 6:45 comedy show a few minutes late but there were several seats available. We saw John Johahn. He was pretty good too. We had some time to kill before the 9:30 Love and marriage show. We decided to go check out the Havana area. After 7 PM all of Vista’s guests can visit but before that it’s only open to people that are staying in Havana cabins. First we stopped at the Havana bar and my son got a piña colada.IMG_0551.thumb.JPG.e9a293502fb934b6021732a2a2669f8b.JPG

  5. We got to dinner early again tonight so we would be able to make it to the 6:45 comedy show. We requested and got the same area because we really like the guys that have been waiting on us. I will post the menu below. We ordered (appetizers) alligator fritters, tomato/green bean salad and Michigan pasty. I have enjoyed everything I’ve had in the main dining room except this Michigan pasty. It was just really just very bland. Our entrées: Flat iron steak and the beef Wellington. My husband‘s flat iron steak was the best one he’s ever had on a Carnival ship. Sometimes it’s a thin steak and overcooked. This one was 2 inches thick and perfectly medium rare. Our desserts were the chocolate melting cake and the banana split. The banana split is on the kids menu. Of course they don’t give us the kids menu but I know it’s on there. You can order it no problem and I often do, if I don’t like the regular dessert menu. Our waiter said that it was a good thing I was ordering it tonight - that would probably be the last night you could get it because they would not have any fresh bananas after that.

  6. Also if you go to any comedy or main shows - about how long are they? I love comedians and try to see as many as I can but love the other main shows and it's hard to know how to plan if I don't know long the shows are lol!

So both comedy shows I’ve been to -30 minutes and the one we saw in the liquid lounge 45 minutes.

  8. I believe I read you got one of the Cruise the Vineyards packages. Do you have a pic of the wine listings in the different packages and the different prices?

Got it! I’m not sure if you’ve gotten the vineyards package with Carnival before. They used to have three packages: value, deluxe and premium. They’ve gotten rid of the deluxe so there really is not much of an option anymore. At first I paid for the value but then when I looked closely at the wine list I was not happy with that so we upgraded to the premium. Hate that they got rid of the middle of the road package.

I’m sorry you might have to look at it sideways that’s the only way it would let me load.

  9. Tuesday, LaRamona- Today we had a Saona trip with Seavis tours. I’ll post more on this on the “ports of call page”. Basically, a speed boat ride to a private island with lunch and snorkeling. Had a great time. We had lunch on the island so when I got back on the ship just got some dessert before I went back to the room. They were making salted caramel and passion fruit gelato today. I got the passion fruit but it wasn’t to my liking. I’m sure I would’ve liked the other but it wasn’t ready. Still needing something for my sweet tooth I went over to the sweet spot area of the Lido marketplace. The six layer cakes they have are not only gorgeous to look at and they are very very tasty. Good move Carnival to add these cakes. The desserts they used to have on the Lido deck all just looked good but really did not have a taste at all. These are wonderful!!

  10. We went to the show tonight “Amor Cubano”. We got there about 15 minutes early to get a seat. There were plenty of seats even after it started. We all really enjoyed it. Great singing and dancing and I was really glad to see there was an actual live band accompanying them. I think there were 8 or so musicians (percussion, keyboards and horns).

I’m not wild about how they did the Liquid lounge. There are no tables to put your drinks. I think you have to use that little round thing that is clipped onto the arm of the chair. You can see in the photo. It’s kind of awkward because it almost ends up being behind you.

We actually found seats for the comedy show tonight and only had to get there 15 minutes early. We saw Steven Michael Quezada again. He was so funny! Probably the funniest comedian I’ve seen on a cruise ship. My normal go to cocktails are: whiskey sour, margarita or lime daiquiri but bar service was really pushing the Punchliner so I went with that. First, I made sure it was a sour drink. It was and I was pleased with it. Here is the bar menu for the Punchliner our club.

  11. Dear Mrs. Carol Jones,

    Thank you Maam.

You really had the best Cabin Service in T&C..!

On that Seat of Government Island did you see a lot of Conch too now?

We saw lots of donkeys..... they were everywhere.

When we were in Cockburn town. My son did buy some conch fritters while I was shopping. He said the ones in the red frog pub were much better.
