  1. We are on her Oct.7 so its all up in the air for us. First up, will Ft. Lauderdale port be ok to depart? We'll know Monday. Many of our 9 ports have been hit by Irma. My TA confirms that its unlikely our cruise will be cancelled. We will get substitute ports or sea days. I'm guessing that won't be decided until a week or 2 prior. For US personally, we don't care what ports we go to. We've been to most before. We just don't want so many sea days that its like a transatlantic lol. Asca side note - Im an early over packer - and Irma is going to hit us in Tampa - so I had 2 weeks packed. I just took out the formal wear and snorkel stuff, and Im set to live in an extended hotel if need be. Irma...ughhh.... shes screwing up my Oct AND NY Eve cruises AND my home.

  2. Someone was kind enough to take the time to share and post this today, about what Princess told him:

" the email I sent them. You are correct, Seems one of the propeller electric drives need to be replaced, no quick fix, she must go into dry dock. Expect continued itinerary changes because of this issue. Other than that, they aren't offering anything except on a case by case sailing. They told me if I want to cancel, go ahead!"

  3. Personally, I welcome all opinions and comments on this Roll Call. I do wish the very few snarky interchanges could be less judgemental and more of a discussion, and hopefully ni one will drop off. Selfishly, I am mainly concerned about OUR Roll Call voyage here of Oct. 7. I'm in the "how does this effect ME" mode. My main question is still, will our cruise still go Oct. 7 or will we be cancelled? I hope everyone will remain on the thread and share info. As for the ship engineer who has commented, my questions would be, WHERE is the Florida dry dock? Would the ship need dry dock ? Or can repairs be made Oct 7 between 7am-3pm so we can sail ? As for the civilians commenting, is it true they'd board us Oct. 7 then let us sit in port for days doing repairs, without notice or a chance to cancel? Im still hoping Princess combines the 2 Panama cruises right after our Oct 7 voyage, and puts the ship in dry dock one of THOSE times, not on Oct. 7. We so are looking forward to this cruise. And we especially want the full 14 days. I dont care if the ports are changed. I dont however want 7 sea days.... Please, everyone, continue to exchange info, and stay friendly. We so appreciate this thread♡

  4. I want to start a roll call. I found "find your roll call". Mines not there, so I can't find one, so I click on "start a roll call", and it brings me to "find your roll call" !!! I find this Cruise Critic so hard to navigate. Can anyone tell me where the heck do I actually go, the link, to start a roll call ? Thanks so much !!!;p

  5. I've read many posts from 2006-2013 about the bad smell coming from the garbage vent directly onto cabin. D741 on the Sapphire Princess. The vent blew right onto THAT aft facing balcony. I see no posts SINCE 2013 about this. I've booked that cabin. Has anyone been on the Sapphire or the Diamond in D741 since 2013? If so, when ? And did it still have a garbage smell. You're help is much appreciated.
