  1. Thanks for posting this info. From what I can see, there is a daily price, but no break for buying a week of (just) internet. Is this correct?

    Thanks.

    These are the prices onboard:

Your Diamond discount is EITHER $20 off a package OR one free 24-hour period. These discounts are per person, but you cannot put two $20 discounts towards one package.

  2. Many people are not aware that Cruise Lines post the name and local phone number of their Port Agent in each port in the daily newsletter (or if they are called by any other name).

We always throw the daily newsletter into our knapsack as this person is a valuable LOCAL resource to contact in case of trouble or emergency. Fortunately we have never had to do this, but just to keep in mind.

  3. We are looking at booking cabins 7196 and 7198 on Harmony OTS. We usually pick cabins on a much higher deck. I was wondering if anyone knew (or knew where to guide me to) where the lifeboats are in relation to these cabins. As this deck is moderately low, I don't want our view downwards (towards the water) to be obstructed by the lifeboats. Thanks.

  4. We are booked for a December sailing on the Harmony. From everyone's posts, I assume the Rubicon is an escape room? Are there any small spaces to get through? Approximately how long did it take you to escape?

Other than the big slide, I also assumed that everything else was the same as Oasis and Allure that we've sailed. Last question (for now!): Compared to the Allure and Oasis, what else is new on the Harmony?

    Thanks,

    Nancy

  5. Thanks everyone for your advice about driving from Paris (CDG) to the coast. We are still on the fence about this, but have a lot more to think about with your responses. We have reserved an automatic car at the airport (I know it's more expensive) and had planned to take a route that would either take us around Paris or as straight through as possible (if that was the only way - still have to check on Michelin's site).

I will continue to appreciate any further info and advice from y'all.

  6. Hi Folks,

We are finally thinking of dipping our toe in the waters of Asia. The itineraries that Celebrity Millennium offer are of interest to us, but each one differs slightly and may or may not include Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand etc. as well as the number of days spent in each port.

I would love to hear form those who have sailed this route (on other cruise lines as well) and the pros and cons of the ports they visited. I know it's a tall order, but it's very confusing to narrow down. Your input is greatly appreciated.

  7. Hi everyone,

We are one of the lucky ones to be boarding the Equinox after you leave. You might know that the Oct.2 passengers have a postponed embarkation due to thorough sanitizing of the ship. Do you have an update on .... how many people were ill? .... whether or not they feel they are getting this under control? I hope you had a wonderful cruise.

  8. Can anyone please tell me how to get from the port in Lisbon to Largo de Camoes? If it is that far and more than 2 buses, approx. how much would a taxi cost?

    Thanks,

    Nancy

We love to just walk the downtown area on our own.

There is so much to do and to see and we enjoy walking up to the small little towns.

Another option is to take the Hop On Hop Off Bus and that way you can get on and off the bus in different areas.

  9. Thanks for the details. I was wondering if you know how to get from the port to Parc Guell - which bus leaves the port and where and what do I transfer to?

Now that I have you - one more question please?! Regular taxi from Barcelona airport to port. I have read a number of things, but do I understand correctly that there is a standard additional cost per bag? per person? also fee for leaving the airport? I think I read that it will cost about 30euro (on a Thursday around 1:30pm).

Great big thanks for your time and answers.

    Nancy

The fastest way to get to Parc Guell would be by taxi. It would take between 25 and 30 minutes for the driver to take the 10 kilometer trip from the port and the cost would be around 35 euros. Note that there is a motorway route that they can take that is around 20 kilometers, but avoids city traffic. The cost escalates though to 40 euros or so.

The park website defines the many more economical public transportation options. They all involve a 10 to 15 minute walk to get to the park.

  10. Hi Everyone, we are thinking about taking a Viking Cruise in the Fall and had a question about dinner time. We have read in various sites that there are specific dinner times (a la Ocean cruises) or that dinner is between 7 - 9pm or that dinner is at 7pm, but the first 20-30 minutes is the Cruise Director's spiel about the next day's events.

So my question is, what time is dinner on Viking Cruises? When they say x:00, does that mean we actually sit down to eat (order) at that time?

    Thanks!!

  11. Hi Everyone,

We are not new to cruising, but will be new to Norwegian. We are looking to book on the Epic and had a few questions about the "mini-suite" category. I understand that the cabins are a bit larger than the regular balcony rooms, with the actual balcony marginally smaller. My question is: as these cabins look to be (from the schematic) a bit forward and a bit aft, would we avoid being over the lifeboats? What deck would you suggest we consider, if we didn't want to have the lifeboats directly beneath the view from the balcony.

Any other things we should take into consideration or any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Nancy
