  1. I can say that 3 weeks ago I changed the name on my booking, personally.

-Carnival no longer charges a $50.00 name change fee.

-Carnival allows you to do this now EVEN with early saver.

(We are booked early saver and always book that way)

You can swap rooms once on board, get an extra key made, etc.

However, as the other poster stated, if you one the adults wants cheers and the others don't, put that adult in with the kids.

    :-)

  2. HAHA - that will NEVER happen in the US! Must be nice though.

Actually I am in the US and I received my renewal/name change and my daughter received hers ( new applicant) in 7 days. This was just last month. That was actually basically 6 because we sent them in on a Saturday and I got them on Friday. You can pay to have overnight passport renewal or a few day service. It will cost, but it is quick. Also, you can pay for expedited service for a week, but you will get your passport before you get your BC back.

My neice in the US did hers in OCtober and did regular service. It was 10 days from mail in to door step.

  3. A name change as in a new passenger?

    I was told no.

I also just changed my personal name on my booking 2 weeks ago and was informed that the policy has changed on charging. I am booked ES. I changed my name and there was no charge.

I am not sure about new passengers, but I thought that was also changed. Good luck!

  4. OK,

    So, clarifying.

We are driving down in my van.

We are taking my parents with us and THEY have a hanging placard for their window in their car. Since they are handicapped, can I put that placard in my van when we park in Miami as long as she is with me since she will have her DL with her? There is nothing in Indiana that identifies the placard to the person, but We definitly do not want to be dishonest. She has a hard time walking long distances. My dad has had 2 recent knee surgeries.

    ALSO,

What is the fee for handicap parking at the POM?

What time can we park at the POM? I was told here on the message board one time that they stagger people coming in and out of the lots from the people leaving to the people coming in. We have FTTF and I want to get there inside by 10.

  5. Non-alcoholic drinks and sodas do NOT count against the 15 drink limit - that's the maximum number of drinks with alcohol that you can get. At their current drink pricing, once you pass the fifth or sixth drink (beer, wine, liquor) in a day, you're at the "break even" or "go ahead" level. To "make it pay" on inport days, you'll have to do make-up drinking once you're back on board, or have a couple of Bloody Mary's, Screwdrivers, or Mimosas with breakfast...just sayin'

OK, so if I get the cheers program and hit the alcoholic level limit ... I can still get pop on the cheers program and that covers it or I pay seperate for that?

  6. No you could get a regular pina colada, actually you could get up to 15 regular pina coladas! There's no list because EVERYTHING under $10 is included, the "list" would be essentially, the same as the little card they have at the various bars.

We were on Victory last month and I drank, on a average day,

    * a mimosa or vodka and OJ for breakfast

    * 3-4 Mai Tais or Strawberry Daquiris during the day

    * a Johnny Walker Black with soda before dinner

    * a glass or two of wine with dinner (this was the wife, I don't drink very much wine)

    * Bailey's & coffee after dinner

    * 2-3 Mai Tais or Strawberry Daquiris watching the show/hanging out listening to music or gambling in the Casino

We never ordered or wanted to order anything that wouldn't be covered by the Cheers program. My wife tried a slew of different Drinks-of-the-day and other new drinks.

We paid $574 for the two of us and when they slipped the "bill" under the door on the last night, the two of us had consumed 87 drinks over the five day cruise. So we paid $6.59 each on average. Since the stuff we were drinking was considerably more expensive than $6.59, we made out.

We never got drunk, and never hit out 15 drink limit so it was a REALLY good deal for us.

Oh, and since the Cheers Program (I call it the "liquor sticker") includes sodas, and we had 2-3 sodas each on any given day, I suppose you should probably deduct the cost of the soda sticker from the Cheers cost too.

Anyway, my point is that you don't have to get falling down drunk every day to derive a benefit from the program.

First off...THANK YOU for responding and clarifying!! :-)

    Second, you're awesome!!

Third, JWB is one of my favorites and your list of drinks you were having is my kind of list!! Great choices! I may just have to mimic your routine!! HAHA!! :D

Thank you for all the details. You definitly clarified all my questions!

  7. ok, I haven't done this program but we are considering it.

    I LOVE pina coladas.

It says non alcoholic frozen drinks are included, so that would mean I would have to get a virgin pina colada?

THis thing is so confusing! LOL

Also, what are the advertised drinks that aren't included?

    Is there a list?

  8. it really depends on what time you get to the terminal, etc. usually our rooms have been ready around 130-3. each ship leaves around an hour apart from one another at the ports. So, depending on boarding time and how many people are left straggling I would say aorund 1:30-3 . Just get there early and see what they say.

    Doesn't hurt to ask.

  9. Sorry but I have a silly questions about FTTF and getting into room early. Aren't there doors that close off the room corridors while the stewards are still getting rooms ready? Do you just go through the closed doors to your room if you have FTTP?

There will be a sign that states the area is closed UNLESS you are Platinum, FTTF, etc. You can go around and if they ask, just show them your card! :-)
