Maybe I'm naïve, but I don't understand the problem with bringing children on board. Because they'll see something "nicer" than what they have? By this logic, should we stop feeding them because they'll just be hungry tomorrow? Who can say what being on a cruise ship for an afternoon might inspire them to do when they get older?

Add me to the list of not trying to convince anyone.
Some people love Hawaii, others think it's nothing but sitting on a beach and they're not interested.
Some people think Las Vegas is the best vacation spot in the world, some can't stand it.
I enjoy both for very different reasons and I'd never try to convince someone that they should.
My ex thought she'd like cruising and she didn't. The fact that I like it, or you like it, or that millions of people like it, really isn't the point. I certainly wouldn't want someone to try to convince me to eat their favorite food after I'd already told them I didn't like it.

We just booked a cruise on the Fascination in December and are trying to get our son to join us. He said he will book a cabin IF they have Texas holdem in the casino? Anyone know?
I think all the Carnival casinos have Texas Hold Em. Dealt by machine, not live dealers, if that makes a difference.

If taken as a perk, it seems fairly easy to "break even." But buying the drink package, you'd have to drink 10 or more drinks a day to make the numbers work. Neither one of us could do that and I know we couldn't do it for 7 straight days.

Thank you everyone!

Sorry if this has been asked before, I tried searching and nothing really seemed to match.
We're on a September cruise. When should we expect specialty dining and show reservations to be available to book?
TIA

Age can also be a factor. While I enjoyed our cruise to Alaska on Holland, we were also some of the youngest people on board. (I was in my late 40's at the time.) I think Princess skews a little younger? But I could be wrong. I often am.

BirdTravels- Thank you so much for everything you posted here. We're on the Bliss next year and it was great to get a feel for the ship.
Is norwegian bliss a good choice for Alaskan cruise??

Everyone says that Glacier Bay is a must see. This is one of the reasons that HAL and Princess are popular, they have most of the Glacier Bay stops covered. NCL does have some, however.
