  1. You and me both! we leave next Sunday (27th) between the Green Slide, the pools, the change of menu, and now this! I'll be keeping this latest news away from the folks going with us.

Yup! I kept all of this to myself (and you kind folks here). My DH and my folks are sleeping like babies. They owe me.

  2. I'm leaving on the Pride this Sunday.

I almost miss the days when you DIDN'T hear about every little blip and hiccup and issue. Ignorance is bliss.

I'm a worrier by nature so to read about an EXPLOSION of an engine of the Pride freaked me out. But then I told myself to consider the source and wait for confirmation.

90% of the people going on the cruise with me will have no idea there was anything even amiss. But STUPID ME has to keep up on things. I have only myself to blame.

  3. I heard that the Pride is going to get the American Table starting with their next sailing so an older Menu for this ship may not be much help.

That being said....I just so happen to be on the next Pride sailing and I will try and get some info. on the menus and any changes (if they really do go through).

  4. Wow! Relax a little! ... They saw something and that is why they are asking others for confirmation...

To the OP I saw the post as well. It appears from what the people on the ship were saying is that it should be complete this week. We sail this upcoming Sunday! I will let you know if it's not completed by our sailing.

So do we! Can't wait. CHEERS!

  5. "Social Media" mentioned it but had no further details (and no one there could elaborate)? Perhaps avoiding the source of incomplete information is a better choice than trotting over here to validate the gossip over there.

Seriously? If you didn't have the answer you could have simply said you didn't know or just not commented at all. Why do some people feel the need to treat other people like this. Does it make you feel superior?

  6. We were on the Pride sailing on Sept. 6, and stayed at the Best Western on O'Donnell St. the night before. It was our second time staying there doing the package that included parking the car there for the week. Room was clean, breakfast was fine as well. It was very convenient. The shuttle service was greatly, greatly improved and so organized, compared to our first stay there. The shuttle left for the port around 11:15 and we got to the port within minutes, by around 11:25. We waited inside after check-in for about 45 min., and we were having lunch on the Lido deck around 12:30ish and in our cabin at 1:30. Have a great cruise!!!

We are staying there this Saturday. Is 11:25 the earliest shuttle to the port that they have? Also; what is the procedure for arranging the shuttle to pick you up after the cruise.

    Thanks.

  7. I was not putting you down because you plan ahead, and considering your condition it is a good idea. It read as if you were scolding people for not picking up money, credit cards, etc, but only their cell phones. I was simply trying to inform you, in case you had not had the time to read the entire thread, that people did not have the chance to go back to their cabins. The passengers in this situation already had an unpleasant time, to say the least, and did not deserve to be told they should of done something differently.

I rarely post on Cruise Critic, with the exception of Roll Calls, because it irritates me to see people say 'you should have done it my way'. For me and many cruisers I have spoken to they do not carry much around with them on the ship, and this freedom is part of the appeal of cruising. If it had been me I would not even had a phone, as my flip phone costs too much to keep on while out at sea, and it does not work in most ports (except continental U.S.)

Saying "I plan ahead", and "People want to take chances...they can" just sounds like you feel you are superior to most people in this unfortunate situation. I hope nothing bad ever happens to you in which people scold you, rather than have empathy.

If CC had a "like button"....

  8. Cheers isn't worth it for us gamblers anymore! It used to be that you could get the Cheers at 15 limit per day and the Drinks on Us card was unlimited Now I've heard they changed it so it's a 15 limit for BOTH combined. That means if I get 8 drinks in the casino I'm only allowed 7 on the Cheers!

    Can anyone confirm this?

    I can confirm this.

That is what happened to my mom on our Glory cruise this past May. She had Cheers and she had the "Drinks on Us". Once she hit the 15 drink limit that was it. She could not get a drink using EITHER card OR paying cash. Mom was done for the night. LOL!

  9. This is what it says:

    What’s included?

All spirits (including cocktails), as well as beer and wine by the glass with a $10.00 or lower menu price

    Soda and non-alcoholic frozen cocktails

25% off menu price of bottle water

25% off the menu price for spirits above $10.00 per drink

25% off the menu price for wine and champagne by the bottle

    What’s NOT included?

Non-alcoholic beverages other than soda and non-alcoholic frozen cocktails

Beverages promoted and sold in souvenir glasses

    Bottles of liquor

Beverages offered at gangway while debarking

    Beverages offered through room service

    Beverages offered in mini-bars

The sharing of cocktails and floaters

Buckets of beer, pitchers of beer, and beer tubes

    Beverages offered through wine machines

    Coffee beverages and food items

Wow...they changed that since I looked last. I copied and pasted directly from the site and it originally DID NOT have the "non-alcoholic frozen cocktails" part added. I'm guessing they just implemented this program this morning and have some issues to work out. Thanks for the update.

  10. it was always with 15% gratuity.

Yeah. I knew about the 15% gratuity just not the added tax. With the 15% gratuity it shows $804.00 for 2 people for 7 days with tax "TBD". Then when you go to check out it adds in the $56.00 in taxes bringing the total up to over $850.00 dollars. So the $49.95 a day is really $60.00 a day after you add in gratuity and tax.

  11. OK...went to buy it and it adds $56.00 in taxes for sailing out of Baltimore too. Did I just not notice that we paid taxes on the Cheers program before. And, I didn't see a spot where I could pay with my gift cards.

For some reason I didn't think that you paid taxes for drinks on the cruise. Can someone enlighten me on this please.

Between the tax, not being able to get virgin frozen drinks, and not being able to use a gift card I'm not as excited now. Plus....it says it will be delivered to your cabin sometime after you board on the first day???? Thinking that is a glitch and they will put the sticker on your card when you first board.

  12. I was looking through the list of restrictions listed for Cheers and now it says :

    What’s NOT included?

    •Non-alcoholic beverages other than soda

    •Beverages sold in souvenir glasses

    •Bottles of liquor

•Beverages offered at gangway while debarking

    •Beverages offered through room service

    •Beverages offered in mini-bars

•The sharing of cocktails and floaters

•Buckets of beer, pitchers of beer, and beer tubes

    •Beverages offered through wine machines

    •Coffee beverages and food items

In the past I have been able to get virgin frozen drinks. Looks like they have changed that? I wonder why.

  13. Did anyone else notice that you can now buy the Cheers drink package online?

I was just going to purchase a 6 pack of diet coke for my cruise next week and low and behold.....you can now order Cheers or the Bottomless Bubbles package right from your "Manage my Cruise" screen.

I was waiting for this change.

  14. Your details helped me as well as we pre-paid gratuities, and I didn't know where to see that payment - I wonder though, we pre-booked (purchased) an excursion, and it shows; our OBC shows; however the cases of water we purchased do not show. I intend to print and carry all our receipts, I just wonder if I'm missing something.

Items purchased in the "Fun Shop" do not show up on your cruise details. We always keep the email receipt and bring it with us just in case, but we have never had an issue with getting the items we ordered. They have always been waiting for us in the cabin on the day we select.

    Happy Cruising.

  15. Log into "Manage my cruise". Go to "Cruise Details". In the TO DO LIST go to "View Cruise documents". Then go to "Print General Information" (you don't have to print it....you can just view it).

Scroll down past the health screening and booking summary and go to Itemized charges. It will list prepaid gratuities there.

    Hope that helped.

    Happy sailing.

  16. My mom hit the 15 drink limit on a sea day! (Go mom!)

They cut her off completely. She couldn't even get a drink in the casino with her "drinks on us" card. She started with some mimosas in the morning and spread them out all day. She was not visibly intoxicated.

The next day in port we bought her a shirt that said "I only had 1 in Dog Beers). ;)

  17. We are driving up from NY. The hotel we are staying at offers a park and cruise deal. The price is only a little cheaper then parking at the pier.

We have FTTF and like to arrive at the pier early.

Would you recommend that we park at the pier or take the hotel shuttle and have them drop us off? How early can you be dropped off at the pier?

    We go in Sept.

    Thanks

  18. On my January Ecstasy cruise last year we were booked in an inside cabin on deck 9. We loved the location.

Got an upsell call for a mini-suite right across the hall for $150.00 more per person. We had faster to the fun so with the mini-suite we could cancel that and save $50.00 but we really didn't want to spend an extra $250.00.

I told them we would take the upgrade for $100.00 per person. She went and talked to her supervisor and they agreed. Woo hoo.

For the record....a mini-suite on Ecstasy is really just a balcony room. Have no idea why it was considered a SUITE. But we did like the perks we got.

So.....I guess it can't hurt to ask for what you want. Worst they can say is no. But you could get lucky.
