  1. Thank you for the heads up. This is one reason why we rather buy our own travel insurance coverage via insuremytrip. You get different plan options and you see the policy before buying the plan. One insurance company can offer different plans with different coverage and price points. I think you need a better TA.
  2. Agree! She takes the bus and subway everyday. And now we have our first positive case in NYC. Now that I think about it, maybe she’s scared to be with me for a week+. I take the subway to work everyday and I work in the healthcare industry 😬 (I don’t deal with patients tho).
  3. If she does cancel, she will probably do that. She’s good like that 🙂
  4. It actually does cover single supplement. Unfortunately, her canceling from being scared is not a covered reason 😞.
  5. I agree... airport, shopping mall... subway! We ride the NYC subway to work *sigh*
  6. She’s healthy and not senior, but she’s still very worried. I work in the healthcare industry and I even told her I’ll bring any protective gear, disinfecting agents, etc that I can bring; but that wasn’t enough for her 🤷‍♀️ She sent me the article about Anthem just last week! I told her it was old story and that Anthem has sailed a few times since. I have given up actually. She can cancel if she wants. After giving her reassurances for a month now, I just gave up convincing her. If only we’re on the same sailing, we can hang out together!
  7. I have Chase Sapphire Preferred that covers up $10k pp per trip; max $20k per trip, $40k per year. You are covered if you charge all or a portion of your trip to the card. It will cover you if you are ill, but not "Your disinclination to travel due to an epidemic or pandemic." The details of the coverage are available at https://www.chasebenefits.com/sapphirepreferred. Chase Sapphire Reserve has the same trip cancellation/interruption coverage. The details are available at https://www.chasebenefits.com/sapphirereserve2. Most travel credit cards (e.g. United Mileageplus Explorer) ha
  8. It gets very mentally exhausting dealing with it.
  9. I did tell her that. There's no point in worrying about something that's 2 months from now. She's always been a worry wart and she keeps sending me articles about COVID-19. At this point, seeing how worried she is, I don't think I even want her to go and deal with her constant worry during the cruise. I am not telling her that, but I have moved on from telling her not to worry to giving her options on how to cancel.
  10. Thank you. We don't have "cancel for any reason" coverage. I looked at the policy and I don't think cancelling for pandemic concern without being ill is one of the covered reasons. My friend doesn't mind losing the money, that's how afraid she is. But I can't afford to lose money or pay any more so I am concerned that if she cancels, I will be paying extra.
  11. Thank you so much for the info! I’m so sorry, forgot to add my sailing. Yes, it’s 4/26 on Harmony.
