  1. I was going to get the spa pass for the week during our upcoming cruise a few months back, and decided against it after I found out the Sunshine doesn't have one. My mom and sister just returned off the Splendor, and raved above their spa balcony, and all the spa amenities on that ship. This cruise being 7 days with two sea days, and four ports of call would limit our time being able to enjoy it (IMO), so we'll probably pass on this cruise, and opt for it on the next (unless our guarantee balcony cabin turns into a spa balcony cabin).

I did buy the pass for this past March cruise. Don't forget you get fairly generous hours to use. I love the T pools, not crowded, WARM, unlike the spas on decks. We usually do YTD or early dining so I used during the "late dining". No One was there had it to myself most nights, followed by time on the loungers to "dry off". Pure Bliss

  2. I thought Calvyn was heading to Alaska at some point this summer to resume his normal position as JH's assistant?

No JH has a new assistance. I remember reading that Calvyn got promoted and was kind of excited that he would be on Pride for our 8/10 cruise. He had such a good vibe when he would write for John I hope he is a blast.

  3. You should be ok. They will not allow new cars in until enough cars have left from previous cruise. It is super easy to get in, park, and check in. The only issue is that sometimes the pride run late. Be sure to check theboards and sign up for the text alerts.

  4. We did the clam shells and it was wonderful. A nice shallow beach very close so perfect for kids - a private bar where you can use your sail sign card - a tram to take you there and bring back - the clam shells are down away from the crowds so you truly feel like you are in a Corena commerical

  5. How long do they last? And when do they do the tour?

It will be your last sea day - 2.5 to 3 hours. I think it started at 9. Lots and Lots of walking. Very cool information, gives you a different take on the staff (and my first job was at a 4 star hotel so I thought I knew what it was like, boy did I under estimate!!)

It is worth it yes. Is it worth it to go again not for me but as someone esle mentioned a different class ship and the presenter can make a big difference.

  6. DH has played at Cozumel and he was a tad worried as well. If I remember correctly they wouldn't let him bring as carry on - however, he tipped well, waited at the bell stand to ensure his bag was still standing up and nothing was placed on top - who knows what happened after it qot mixed with other carts BUT we did receive the golf bag first (this was before FTF etc). Then on the last night, we did the same thing waited for the cart - tipped heavily, and prayed for good luck.

He has carried on the clubs at least 3 times that I can remember and never has had a problem with this method.

The usual bug spray, sun tan lotion, be sure you pack your glove and shoes as the DD had to rent her equipment and it took longer than the DH thought was necessary for those items. Water bottles as it was much hotter than they thought it would be and what we are used to here in VA (and yes we are in the humidty belt). Not to mention if you need to buy something at their club houses the prices are sky high.

Good luck and happy golfing. Both DH and DD said the course in cozumel was beautiful and well tended. DD took lots of wild life pictures.

  7. Quick question - we did self assist out of Norfolk and it was a nightmare with their escalator in POM do you go straight to customs or do you have stairs or escaltors to worry about? We think we might have an extra suitcase which is always a pain to worry about holding onto a rail with 2 suitcases

  8. Ive read alot of people saying balconys are a must. This my first cruise with a balcony and got a cove balcony. Im worried im goinf to regret it. Ive lost two family members to lung cancer. Its a sensitive subject I dont mind occasionally a whif of smoke..but im nervous every time I go on balcony im going to suffocate from smell and cuase a scene. (By scene I mean put my portable speakers next to balcony devider and blast opera music at 4am and put on my 300$ noise cancelling headphones..) of course I would ask politely before resorting to gorrila tactics

Well aren't you the possible neighbor pest. Really opera at 4am because someone dared to legally smoke for what 10 or 15 minutes. And no i am not a smoker.

  9. Our experience is about the same. They go to the teen club to see who is on board , then do their own thing with those they friend. My DD is still facebook buddies with a lot of the people she met while a teenager - the older I think it is the 15 to 17 group will have excursion for that age group with a counselor to go with them. Usually ziplining etc. DD never chose to do that (way easier to hang with the parents and have them pay for everything LOL)

Go for it, a great vacation you can each do what you like on board, agree with the meet for dinner, and then decide for the ports if you will be together.

And yes watch the sign and sail charges. Also double check that an error wasn't made so they can get adult beverages. We had that happen twice somehow my profile and DD got switched but it was corrected immediately.

  10. We were on in September. The crew was great, no issues, nice and relaxed. Yes she is old, yes she is small BUT if you are booking, you know what you are getting. A laid back, just enjoy yourself for a few days - I would go again in a heart beat. It truly was one of the most relaxing cruises we have ever done. Easy to get in and out with no drama

  11. Super easy. We did it back in September. We also like to early bird. We were there about 10;30 to 10:45. There were a few people still disembarking but the line was allowed to start parking. THe only thing different that we noticed is that the bags are taken out in the parking lot via what I would call hotel bell carts. We thought they were just regular portors at first but then we understood that it was for everyone.

The waiting room is just one big warehouse type area. There is a roped off area for the VIP, FFTF people, a separate area for the wedding, then a bigger area for the rest of check in.

Truly was one of the easier parking, drop the luggage, and check in that we have had

  12. Looking at a cruise on the Dream end of September; two questions:

Does she have the 2.0 upgrades (love Guy's Burgers on the Liberty!)

And will Jaimee still be the CD in September (again, loved her on the Liberty!)

    Thanks,

    Andy

Dream did not get Guy BUrgers. I believe Jamie said she was going on leave late Spring and didn't know where she would be coming back but I might be wrong
