What made the embarkation process so bad? Lack of employees? No one knew what to do? Inefficient flow of the embarkation process?

Where are you? We need your reviews, your insight, your guidance!
How was the embarkation process?
Where is the VIP area? How do we find it?
How's parking?
How were your ports of call?
Where are the Freestyle Dailies?
And I'm sure we all have many, many more questions. Jewel, Bayport cruisers post some info........PLEASE!!!! Inquiring cruisers are needing to know!!

Greetings Awesome Cruisers - We're on the Jewel in 35 days and found out from the Pre-Cruise Concierge that the Concierge on our cruise will be Florentina. We've never had her as a concierge before and are interested in your comments/opinions about her.

Leaving in 28 days and would also love to see the dailies. :D
You're on her the week before us - take good care of her for us!

35 days.....it's getting close. We booked this cruise 709 days out and I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Just be pleasantly persistent, have some patience, and it'll all work out eventually. Most of all, enjoy your upcoming cruise!

They have 42 days to work the kinks out until we board her. Looking forward to some cruisers giving us the 411 on Bayport.

It took us 5 cruises.

My favorite Caribbean Christmas memory - being at Rum Point Beach in Grand Cayman the week after Thanksgiving while on a cruise on the Pearl. Sitting on the beach, drinking a Caybrew, listening to Holiday songs sung by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley......perfect.

Have you used NCL to arrange pre-cruise hotel stays? Debating whether to book through NCL or on my own.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We did once - our price wasn't any better than what I could get on my own. So, we book our hotel ourselves. I guess people have NCL book their hotels out of convenience? I'll be interested to see what others say.

If we are a Latitudes members (Silver if that makes a difference, which I'm thinking it would), do we have priority boarding on the Breakaway? Who gets to board the ship first? Or is there not a difference unless you are a suite passenger?
Suite passengers board the ship first. Not sure what the pecking order is after that.

I don't need a butler and won't use one for upcoming suite. I certainly expect my coffee / room service which is included in the DSC without having to tip extra. There is a limit to how much tipping one wants to do and NCL has it all figured out so I'll leave my daily auto tips intact but have no need to tip again to a butler I'll really have no use for.
You do realize that your butler, who you won't be using, does not participate in the DSC, and you, by virtue of staying in a suite and not tipping the butler, will, I effect, be taking money out of the butler's pocket. You are taking a suite that perhaps someone else would've booked had you not, and who would've, most likely tipped the butler. Also, it's your butler who ensures you have coffee and will most likely bring you your room service.
But you've probably stayed in a suite before and haven't used your butler. So, has that worked well?

Make the jump to the Getaway and The Haven next year, we did. We love the Jewel class ships, but after reading good reviews , and figuring why not, we booked a suite in The Haven on the Getaway for next year and are looking forward to it!

We did it in June...finally gave one of the big ships a try..the Getaway. She's beautiful, nicely designed, the usual wonderful NCL crew, but.... For us, she was just too busy, too much activity, slightly overwhelming for how we enjoy cruising. We just did not return feeling relaxed. Glad we tried it, but we're back to the Sun and Jewel class with three of those now booked. Way, way too many unedited and many similar pics of the Getaway are at the following.
We're on the Jewel this Nov, and can't wait for the cruise. We're on the Getaway and Sky next Dec, 2015 so we'll have plenty of time to research and get ready. We actually canceled a10-day eastern Caribbean cruise on the Gem out of NY to do the Getaway/Sky cruises, so this was a big decision for us. We're excited and will have a great time - it'll be interesting to see what we think of the larger ships vs the Jewel class ships after the cruise.

DW and I vowed we'd never...ever...ever...leave our beloved Jewel class ships for those BIG cruise ships. Yeah, we were wrong. We decided to make the jump, give it a try, and booked an H5 - Haven Courtyard Penthouse with Balcony. And man are we excited!! We also booked our first back-to-back and will hop on the Sk,y the day after we get back on the Getaway, for a 4-day Bahamas cruise. We booked a B1 - Aft Balcony. We've never been on the Sky before and figured what the heck...and we are looking forward to it too!! I need some feedback - how did we do??

Forgot to mention, if you haven't already done so, make sure you join your Roll Call. They'll be able to let you know what transportation they're using which will help you decide what you want to do. Have a great cruise!!!

I recently booked NCL Jewel from Houston to Cozumel/Belize City/Roatan Bay -- and am now trying to find the most affordable and reliable transportation from Houston Hobby Airport to the new Bayport Cruise Terminal? Does anyone have any suggestions?
We are sailing in April 2015
We're on the Jewel this November and discovered that finding affordable transportation in Houston can be an issue. There are 6 in our party so we ended up going with a private transportation company. You can take a taxi from the airport, arrange transportation through NCL, or do an internet search of local private transportation companies to see what their charge would be.

What is the evidence of that?? Freestyle, lax dress code etc. seems the ULTIMATE mass market !!
Have you looked at what it costs to book a cruise on one of these lines? They aren't mass market cruise lines.

Garden Villa, 14000, on the Pearl. We're in a Garden Villa, 14000, on the Jewel in 89 days.

In 2010 we got a call from the "Upsale Fairy" with a great price to move from our aft suite to a Garden Villa. It was a dream trip.
This wasn't an upsale offer but last year we noticed prices in The Haven had fallen substantially and moved from our aft suite to a 2bdr suite in The Haven for no extra cost.

1st Jewel Cruisers out of Bayport?!?!?!?
in Norwegian Cruise Line

lilcruzr - OMG, what an experience for you! Quick question - you said the Concierge was John? We're on the Jewel in 5 weeks and the pre-cruise concierge told us our Concierge would be Florentina. Do you know if John is leaving the ship soon? Just want to make sure the intel from the prw-cruise concierge was accurate.
