  1. Thanks for all the replys. Am in Australia on a NZ cruise. After trying every day for a week was allowed in. Yippee. Will 7.30 booking let us get to the late show? Is there any way of finding out when formal nights are? Are show times different on these night? Sorry for all the questions. As I said first time on Celebrity. :)

  2. We were with a group of ten and everything went well.

Hank, owner/operator/tour guide, was great !

We were on this tour February 3rd, 2015.

From the time he picked us up (from the Pride of America pier/port), his infectious attitude was, "This is going to be fun!"

Very knowledgeable about island and volcanic geology and a great personality.

If you google "Lavaland Tours", you'll realize I'm repeating other (about 148 excellent) reviews on a website I'm not allowed to mention here.

Thanks for taking time to post review. Have read other reviews on TA but nice here from someone who just returned. Looking forward to our day in 6 weeks. :)

  3. Hiya just off the Dawn yesterday...

Most of the whites we were drinking were between $33 and $39 a bottle... from memory the houghtons white classic was $33. They keep bottle for you in dining room so one was doing the 2 of us two nights... red were about the same... there is also a reserve list at the back and from there had a great red at $48.

    Glasses were 8, 9 or $10...

    Hope that helps....

Thanks. Will be on Sea in April.

  4. Booked Sun Princess 8 January 2016 with a TA in Perth that I have used several times. She asked me if I wanted to pre-pay gratuities and I said I thought they were included and would check. Sure enough on my cruise personaliser it comes up with pre-pay or add to on board account. It's a large amount and I don't like not paying gratuities, TA had indicated that things have changed ... is this so?

After seeing same thing on my personaliser, I questioned our TA. Was told we would have to pay. Not satisfied emailed Princesas and recieved following message.

"Princess Cruises guests frequently request that we enable online gratuity pre payment. Other brands report that gratuities are the most commonly prepaid onboard expense. Effective December 18, 2014, this feature is available on the Cruise Personalizer to optionally pay pre cruise.

During your cruise, regardless of which Princess ship you choose, you will meet staff who provide you with excellent service. A gratuity payment is sometimes enforced depending on the ship you sail. This gratuity is shared among those staff who help provide and support your cruise experience, including all waitstaff, stateroom stewards, buffet stewards, and housekeeping staff across the fleet. I do however, understand that this gratuity may be high at some points. Gratuities onboard the Sea Princess are not compulsory and are payable at your own discretion. Therefore, if you choose not pay this you just need to decline this option or ignore completeley."

We always pay automatic gratuities when we have to and individually a bit extra when included in cost. I think by putting it in the personaliser, a lot of people will be paying twice. On a 35 night cruise this adds up.

  5. We are booked with them for February 3rd, 2015, from a Pride of America cruise.

After then, I can let you know how it goes.:)

Thanks so much. Will be be interested to hear from you. We are booked from Sea Princess in April. Hope you have a great day.

    ;)

  6. Thanks for all the tips from return cruisers. Will be on Amalotus for Xmas cruise. Leave in three weeks. Doing 2 nights with Paradise Cruises on Halong Bay. From your advise, have a day tour booked with Hanoikids in Hanoi, and have taken note of recommended restruants.
