Unfortunately, last minute bargains seem to be disappearing. On my last (shoulder season) cruise, the ship was mostly full. It seemed like half the passengers were there on casino comps. I think this may be the new norm. Instead of selling discounted cabins to savvy cruisers who won’t spend that much onboard, give them away to committed gamblers who will buy the drinks package and lose in the casino.
Exactly correct, which is why 4 of our last 5 were non-NCL. Too much instability with NCL for our desire.

Advertised itineraries are just a suggestion on NCL. They regularly abuse the terms of their cruise contract which was never intended to allow deliberate false advertisement and itinerary changes made in the name of convenience. One day a group of passengers will unite and challenge NCL, but until then expect internal itinerary modifications to be made prior to final payment and announced after final payment to protect NCLs bookings and cash position.
We will only book NCL at rock bottom rates under 30 days out to try to alleviate the disappointment NCL routinely causes it's paying guests. This limits our ability to sail on NCL and we accept that, even though we enjoy the on board experience. We've done 5 cruises post COVID, but only 1 NCL. We have nothing booked on NCL going forward. All of our non-NCL cruises were enjoyable and, more important to us, operated the advertised itinerary without need for modifications to ports or scheduled arrival/ departure times. There are decent alternatives to NCL that offer consistency.

NCLH is a publicly traded company. Seriously, what else would you expect the CFO or the CEO to say????? This is not a commercial to get more passengers. This is a message to the market analysts and the shareholders.
So, the analysts adjust their price target based on this and when NCLH misses the mark, as it did recently with revenues, the stock tanks and people blame the analysts for having unrealistic expectations. Hahaha! Turn a blind eye to falsehoods spewed by Dirty Harry Sommer and company. The hypocrisy on these boards is second to none.

More precisely, sadly Jimmy Bufffett ended last year.Even more precisely, it was a conflict of interest for NCL and Buffet. Buffet's group operates their own cruise brand.

Margaritaville if there are no other ships in port with you.

In general, port day breakfast times on Carnival change based on what time the ship gets into port. In other words, if there is an early debarkation time at the port, breakfast opens earlier. I don't know if this affects Venezia's current itineraries.
I don't know. The port day breakfast times were unchanged whether it was our 7 am arrival in San Juan or our 9 am arrival in Half Moon Cay last week.

What time is the MDR breakfast on the Venezia on sea days?
I don't think we ever ate breakfast in the MDR.
Usually in line for Omelettes at 7 am.
Sure, sea day brunch 830-noon.
Port day breakfast is 7-9.
Both in grande canal.

I don’t think many people will admit to having more than a few hundred shares. Not with nclh. I can see why but I’ll keep sailing as long as I know what to expect and don’t overpay.
That is the key. Find a fair price for what they offer, and realigning expectations for the now expected itinerary disruptions.
We are diversified in multiple cruise companies. Unfortunately, we didn't buy enough RCL coming out of Corona time. Their return on investments have significantly outpaced Norwegian and Carnival. It isn't even close.

Because they do not control what the
'experts' project as far as revenue goes. Revenue projects are just that, projections (a different way of saying guesses). Besdies revenue is not anywhere nera as important as bottom line profit and EPS. Looking only at revenue to make investment decisions is foolish.
Ouch.

We're thinking of doing the Carnival Venezia next year. A few questions if you or whoever might see this, would answer.
Do they still have the $10 or $15 sale at least one day of the cruise?
Do they have a special "chocolate" night?
Do they still have formal nights, or maybe they call them dress to impress now?
Is there a deck that goes directly from the front of the ship to the back of the ship?
1. Yes.
2. Chocolate buffet in Lido Marketplace on final day.
3. Yes. They call it elegant night. We had two on the 11day run. We saw everything from tuxedos and evening gowns to shirts and tank tops.
4. All decks except Deck 3 since the galley is located midship on Deck 3. Deck 5 has an outdoor promenade that allows you to make it 75% of the way around that deck. The private Terraza balconies prohibit you from making the complete circle.

...paying down mountains of debt through huge profits on alcohol. Think of the profit margin on a $9.25 beer that might cost them $1, likely less.
-
They could always raise the service charge to $22 or $23 per person per day to help meet their revenue projections.

all the cruise line stocks are down. CCL and RCCI down more percentage wise than NCLH.
Might want to recheck the math on this one.

All aboard time is all aboard time. It is not a suggestion, unlike stop signs in Cozumel. 😀😀

I didn't read the report. My simple mind is wondering how could they miss revenue in a period of record demand, with record bookings at substantially higher fares? Did they just overestimate their results?
-
I mean NCL isn't transparent about itinerary changes or distribution of daily charges, why would anyone expect them to be transparent about the origin of policy changes. Maybe cruisecritic is the "guest feedback" referred to in the canned press releases. 😀😀😀

We enjoyed sea day brunch and port day breakfast in the MDR on Venezia recently. The breakfast buffet is ok for MTO eggs, cereal, fruit and pastries, but we find the eggs benedict, pancakes, etc to be of room temperature and not hot. By the time we get coffee and reserve a table, it is magnified. If you don't get to the buffet before 930, expect long lines and overall chaos.

How do you know they don’t have a tiny letdown feeling if they don’t get an extra rip ?
No time to have any letdowns. Plus, why would they let someone else's actions control their feelings. Whether someone tips or doesn't tip extra is out of the control of the server, so no need to fret. They just move on to the next guest with a smile.

NCL... Bar Harbor... Why?

What is also a little weird is they were talking about offering longer, more immersive itineraries, yet seem to be altering those itineraries regularly.
