  1. We are sailing a back-to-back on the Discovery Princess on April 2nd.  On the Medallion App, I can select the dining rooms for dinner (Ketchikan or Skagway) - which is great.  But, on the Princess website, the dining rooms on the ship deck map are still unnamed.  Does anyone know where the Ketchikan and Skagway dining rooms are located?  (maybe someone has some insider information?)

    Happy Cruising!

(sorry about the almost duplicate post - I don't know how to delete the post!)

  2. It has been over 2 years since I have posted something on here . . . wow!  (Thanks COVID) So, we are sailing on the Discovery Princess in April and I wanted to reserve our dining room times and table but, they have not named them on the ship layout.  They are named in the Medallion App, but I do not know where those are located.  Does anyone have any inside info?

    Happy Cruising!!

  3. Thank you all for your responses.  I am thinking to book our flights via Princess.  That way I don't have to pay until 45 days prior and, by then, we should know if the cruise is still on . . .yes?

  4. When we learned that our July Alaska cruise was going to be cancelled the day after final payment, I contacted Princess and asked for our fare to be moved to our upcoming December Caribbean cruise.Although it still has not been transferred, I am now learning that the December cruise will probably be cancelled as well. I have heard a lot of speculation but am I missing something?  Has Princess stated that the remainder of the 2020 season has been cancelled?

  5. So, funny thing.  I received our a couple of days ago and we sail on the 22nd.  I called Princess the day before they arrived to ask about them and was told they were going to be shipped in the next day or so due to the battery life.  This was after the person put me on hold to check about it.  So, first, they arrive the next day and the agent didn't even know and, second, I have learned that there is no battery.  While they arrived on time and look great with our names and sail date engraved, I am guessing that Princess's own agents might need Medallion Education 101.  But, we're going a big ol' boat for 2 weeks . . .so, it's all good!  Happy sailing.  🙂

  6. The cabins under and near the bump out parts (sea walk and bar).  The blue light shines pretty bright.  We had to keep our curtains closed all night - and we like to keep them slightly opened to let the morning light in . . ..

  7. First - It's great to be back on this forum.  It's been two years since our last cruise and much has changed since then.

Second - With the new coffee "card," is there a discount when pre-purchasing it or is it the same price once on board?  I ask because I have a bunch of on board credit and would rather use this to purchase the coffee package then buy it early.

Thanks . . and only 88 days until we board the beautiful Regal for 14 wonderful days!

  8. After attempting to find information on this cabin - 402 omn the Emerald deck on the Regal in the Cabin Review section (I just can't figure out how to search it), I am just putting it out here.  Does anyone either 1. have information (pictures or words) about this cabin regarding the obstruction or 2. have instructions on just how to do a search in the Cabin Review section?  Thanks!

  9. Greetings!  I have tried to find an answer to this but, alas, I have failed.  Here is my quandary - I am attempting to book a cruise in December of 2020 but when I get to the Payment page, it does not provide an option to use my Future Cruise Credit.  Has anyone else had this challenge?  Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

    Happy Cruising!

  10. Onboard the Regal. Just got an announcement from the captain that we are diverting to San Juan for a medical emergency. We were awoken this morning around 3 am with an announcement for the medical team to report to a cabin. So sorry for that passeger! The Coast Guard will meet us off shore to make the transfer. We are supposed to arrive back in Ft. Lauderdale on time.

  11. Update: We are now onboard. Once we left land and were on the ship, the entire atmosphere changed. I checked with both passenger services as well as the dining room and we will be fine going to the Club Class dining. For some unknown reason, we were tied to my dad’s booking and, as a result, our dining was switched. At both places, the ship’s personnel said we will be very welcomed at Club Class dining. So, after that minor mixup, I am hoping we will have smooth sailing.

Regarding the elevator. I can only assume the terminal personnel were not directing anyone to the escalators because I never saw anyone coming up while were were there. My DW and I each had a rolling bag that we carried up the stairs. Hopefully, they started directing people to the escalator after awhile.

Right after boarding, we made our dining reservations at the Crown Grill as well as placing our names on the list for the Winemakers dinner. After that, it was time for a nice, first cruise lunch, in the Concerto Dining Room. This has to be one of the most popular “best kept” secrets around. The room was almost empty and the service was absolutely great. While I doubt I will be doing a “live,” we do have unlimited internet so I hope to be able to come back from time to time and post. So, if you have any questions . . I will do my best.

    The internet speed is fantastic!

    Happy cruising :)

  12. Our cruise is finally here! (That is the good news). We arrived at Terminal 2 around 10 am - no separate line for preferred check in - got through security kind of quickly and were next separated into preferred, medallion, and regular. The regular line had NO ONE in it, but we were told to stand in the preferred line that had about 20 people in front of us. Once we got checked in, we were directed to the elevator - what happened to the escalator? Not wanting to stand in a line of another 20 people, we opted to lug our carry on up the stairs to the preferred lounge, only to see the top of the escalator once we got out of the stairwell. After taking our seat, I double checked my card to discover that our club class, anytime dining had been replaced with traditional seating !!! But our card still reads Club Class??? So, once we get onboard, I will need to get this fixed. Conclusion - Not a good first impression of this trip so far. Princess really needs to get the kinks worked out of this new procedure. But, if this is the low point, I guess I can’t complain much . . .1st world problems!
