Personally if you want to do all 3 restaurants I would buy the package now as it is cheaper. You may be restricted to what you can have l know in the Butchers Cut you can choose a starter main and dessert from the set priced bit.

I love the butchers cut and when I went on the Virtuosa last year each time we did it separately got a 3 course meal for around €80 I can’t remember exactly, but used our obc which covered it. We booked that when we were on the ship.

I will be on on the Ship from Southampton on Sunday.

Sorry I can't be much more help.

So Butcher's Cut is A la Carte if you don't pre-book? No 'one price - have what you want'?

In the event OP is unaware, the free specialty dining  isn’t no cost as it requires payment of 20% gratuities.

As the OP mentions the $50 shore excursion credit, I would guess that the speciality dining credits are part of the Free at Sea package in which case there is no 20% service charge.

Hi, taking my first cruise with NCL next year on the Breakaway. NCL Rep recommended cabin 9222 (BF category) saying it was very quite but I just was looking at the deck plan and see that deck 8 below my cabin has lots of restaurants and bars.

Question, would you recommend that I change to a different deck or should the deck 9 cabin be fairly quite?

    Thanks, Peter from Canada

We just got off Getaway and were on deck 10, just above the waterfront. We didn't hear a thing, although, to be fair, the weather wasn't great at night so it was a bit quiet.

I don't know anyone named TIA but...

Notify accessdesk@ncl.com that you use a cpap and they will provide he water required.

    Power strip NO
    Bottled water NO

A 4 socket power strip sat, plugged in, on our dresser on Getaway for 10 nights with no mention of it.

Is suggesting that someone needs "to chill out" a way of confronting someone? :classic_rolleyes:

An argument (pun intended) could be made that you are confronting SeaShark with your post.

    Likewise with your post 😄

Fwiw, I was just making an observation, perhaps even trying to enlighten SeaShark. He might not realise that he makes so many confrontational comments. I suspect he probably does though in all honestly.

My post history is there for everyone to see. Confrontational, I am not 👍

I've include my post for reference.

Read the first paragraph in my post. Re-read it if you have to. Then please explain how I missed the point that the issue is whether or not a haven cabin is worth the money.

Do you even read what you're responding to, or do you just skip over the words in your haste to argue?

You need to relax. Methinks you're the one who likes to look for arguments. I'm not sure why you feel the need to be so abrasive to everyone. A quick look through your posting history tells me you need to chill out. You might enjoy confrontation but most other members don't like it.

Simple. If they haven't got a handbag or any other personal stuff there, just move the towels and use the lounger. I would have absolutely no hesitation in doing so.

  9. This was a reply that I wanted to delete..

Any ideas how to delete a comment? I know you  can only edit for 15 mins but it was only a couple of minutes ago.

Edit: Wow, I've just read that you can't delete your own post, you have to contact a moderator and beg for it to be deleted and they decide whether they will or not.

This is the only forum I've ever been on where you can't change your mind and delete a comment.

I think it is pretty clear term wise that Starbucks is included the Premium Plus package. These are terms of Premium package:

"The Premium Beverage Package does not include room service, package sales, ship specific promotions or beer buckets, designated Super Premium brands (subject to change), bottled wine, mini bar purchases, bottled water, fresh squeezed juices, speciality coffee beverages, speciality Starbucks locations, Coco's, energy drinks, vending machines, wine stations or spirits, cocktails, draft or bottled beer and glasses of wine over $15 USD. Two (2) beverages per person per transaction."

For the Premium Plus exclusions are:

"For non-select bottles of wine (champagne and sparkling included), “Wine and Spirit Experiences”, tastings, and flights, guest will receive a 40% discount when purchased on board.

Does not include: Room service, mini bar purchases, vending machines, or pre-cruise wine bottle purchases."

So when checking the differences in terms Starbucks and Coco's are included in the Premium Plus package.

Thanks. Yes, when you look at it like that then it does look like it's included, although your example also excludes mini bar purchases which aren't included in the Plus package so it's not quite cut and dried.

Edit: Ah, I don't think I read it properly and can see that the Plus exclusions do mention mini bar purchases so I think you're most probably correct.

Since I last posted I've had an assurance from an NCL personal cruise consultant that Starbucks is included though.

    Thanks for your input everyone.

what else would the term "specialty coffee" refer to?

where else on the ship do they serve "specialty coffee?"

i'm not being argumentative, i would simply like to know.

if you get a shot of bailey's in your coffee at a regular bar, that's included in the regular drinks package as a standard alcoholic drink. so what else could "specialty coffee" possibly refer to?

i think the documentation doesn't specifically state "starbucks" because branding still varies across the ships for premium priced "specialty coffee."  i sure do wish it did specifically state starbucks (or other brands that are included). i agree that would be clearer.  i  do appreciate the concern and the quest for a definitive answer, but we already have lots of reports of people ordering starbucks and having it included. so we may be overthinking this.

Well the term 'speciality coffee' could refer to Lavazza coffee which, as I mentioned, we had on Jade a couple of weeks ago and weren't charged for.

The Bailey's in coffee you mention is a speciality coffee as we all recognise, like Irish coffee or Calypso coffee, and could be what they are referring to. That would simply be a shot of whiskey and some cream in a regular coffee. Although having said that, that should be available to anyone on the non-plus package anyway.

I agree with you in thatI don't see why they are so vague about it if it is included. They could simply say that 'all/any coffees and tea that are available' are included.

Yes, I've also seen posts where people say they are included but the lady I spoke to on live chat was pretty adamant that they Starbucks isn't included in any drinks package.

There is mention of it in this thread, including a link to an NCL page/document.  There is an interpretation that Starbucks is included in the "specialty coffee"...

Yes but unfortunately it still doesn't help. The link in that thread merely states 'speciality coffees'.

I think the way forward is to wait until we're onboard then ask at the actual Starbucks and take it from there.

Just asking because the Max bid is about $2,000pp but to book the cabin on its own is about $11,000pp. It’s a good value for me but NCL would be losing out.

I was thinking the bidding system gets people interested in a room, they grow impatient and end up booking it on their own. If that tactic doesn’t work then NCL let’s the room sail empty.

I would say it's just NCL trying to guarantee that a cabin is filled. Remember, they don't go to bids until 2 weeks before the cruise so they can quite happily get some bids in the locker, then if the cabin doesn't go at full price, they go to the bids and just get the most they can. Having guests who paid $800 for a Haven cabin is better than having it empty.
