An inside cabin is like a cave and you never see the light of day ;) A promenade cabin has a window with a nice seat to watch all the happenings in the Royal Promenade. Of course if you leave your curtains open you will loose some privacy, just flip them closed!
No noise problems, our sons slept well..

thanks for taking time to do a review. I too am terrified of heights and have no problem at all with looking straight out or down from our balcony, dont know why but its a different kind of depth perception looking down from a ship especially looking down at water. So hope you will be able to enjoy your balcony!

We have been on both and I agree, go for the itenerary you like best. I will side with Knolmom about the Equinox and the Hot Glass Show- awesome what they can do at sea, we watched so many of the shows. Otherwise the ships are very similar and both outstanding.

Have enjoyed your cruise very much, we will sail on Harmony April 1 and are looking forward to it alot.
I will give a big recommendation for any of the Celebrity Solstice Class ships for a nice relaxing cruise, great service and food also. We have never encountered huge crowds or lots of kids to dodge ;) Plus your past guest level on RCI will transfer over to Celebrity.

from the port in Iceland take a taxi to Hallgrimskirkja, (google it) A massive beautiful church. You can see it from the port. take the time to go up the elevator for a view you won't forget. We walked around the town, people were very friendly.
Also right across from the docks is John Lennons peace light, you can take a ferry over to it and walk around, we ran out of time so were unable to go across.

We did a great golden circle with Geo-Iceland. Awesome tour, mini bus and the guide really loves to show off his country. See as much as you can, we would love to visit Iceland again someday.

Did you book through Celebrity or use a TA? If a TA then call them and they will handle it for you.

ALWAYS LOCK! There are plenty of folks who don't lock and its easier to get in their bags for a thief than for them to mess with the lock. You can buy them for reasonable prices on amazon.

I go on amazon and buy some meclazine and take one tablet every night before I go to bed starting the night before the cruise. No side effects, no seasickness. the crew recommends eating green apples.
The patch had too many side effects for me and ginger gave me bad headaches and I still got sea sick :(
your location should be fine, you will be all over the ship not staying in your cabin.

No smoking lounge. The outdoor smoking area on HOTS has Adirondack chairs.

Gotcha, now I understand the chair situation also..

Thank you so much for doing this review, I love reading your reviews.
Your two additional travel companions are beautiful. Your granddaughter must be so excited right now.
Good thing you have your own seats for the smoking lounge, there are many seats but they are awful to get in and out of for anybody with the slightest mobility issues - what were they thinking?
I enjoyed the Harmony in November, hopefully they have increased the mobile servers and bar staff since then, it was certainly lacking on that in every venue that I visited. For example not once did I have a server offer me a drink including the casino where I was visiting allot, if I wanted a drink anywhere I had to go to the bar, not really complaining although It was just a first experience for me to really notice the lack of servers. Please report on your observations of that.
Thanks to you and Judith for taking time out of your vacation and for sharing with us.
Enjoy!
HOTS has a smoking lounge? I don't remember one on Oasis other than by the pool or is this in the middle of the Casino?

We are sailing April 1, ariving noon on March 30 so we will have a whole extra day in FLL. Looking forward to photos and any information on the water taxi. We will have one in a small scooter so getting in and out of regular taxi's or Uber just wont work for us, so hope the water taxi will be a good choice for us to get around. Thanks for taking time from your vacation to keep us all filled in :)

Can you tell me if the Park Cafe had the coffee drinks or did you have to go to the Promonade Cafe all the time for them (or where else?) We sail April 1 and my DH drinks about 10 cups a day on vaca so hoping for Park Cafe since our cabin is close on deck 8. Thanks for posting the review!

we got it last week for $18 a day, the only way I knew about it was because I read it on CC and I went to RCI website to check it out. Keep watching, it will probably drop again at some point.

Bev, I see Song of Norway in your signature. Which year would that have been?
Norris
We sailed our first cruise on the beautiful Song of Norway Valentines week 1989. A tiny cabin with 2 plate sized portholes at the waterline and a very handsome Italian that was head waiter for our section of the dining room, all the ladies were swooning...;)

Still along for the ride, you have convinced me that early rising is a must do at least some of the days of the cruise. Usually I am up early on my Balcony but exploring an empty ship looks like a big treasure hunt!

We have used the 11" cube/cubby to store our folding clothes, underware and thought they worked very well. the only problem was that they are heavy and who wants the added weight in your luggage. Last trip I threw in a couple of target shopping bags, the kind you buy for .99. Almost no weight to them and they worked as well as the cube did.

my DH has both knees replaced. we have traveled alot and he just tells them when we enter the security area before we get to the detectors. NO card is needed. Be patient and friendly and TSA will treat you respectfully.
