Following along....
I love your detailed reviews and wonderful photos!

No, I didn't get the medallion. I was notified a few weeks before the cruise that I was not in the group receiving it.
I didn't see very much going on that seemed to be associated with the medallion. Maybe because few pax actually had it.

I was on Regal Princess for the four-day Ocean Medallion intro cruise Nov 15-19.
I am elite and enjoyed having unlimited internet. And yes, it was much faster than in the past.
I spoke to the Captain's Circle rep and was told that following this introductory period testing of the new Medallion Net internet, that the number of free internet minutes for platinum and elite passengers will be as was -- 150 minutes for a 7-day cruise, etc.
She also said that Royal Princess is scheduled to get Medallion Net sometime around January, followed by Caribbean Princess a few months later. But no promises.

We stayed at the Radisson Blu Royal Copenhagen, across the street from Tivoli. Perfect location, and a major HOHO bus stop right there.

Thanks for your detailed, entertaining review.
We did the Ultimate Ship Tour on the Regal in August and loved the experience. Commodore Romano was a very approachable, gracious host on the bridge, for the last stop on the tour. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. The galleys were amazing!

Thank you for your review, Phil.
I'll be doing this same cruise in 3 weeks. I last sailed on the Ruby in 2011, and I'm excited to see her again.
-
Excited to be following along on your big adventure!

Embarkation should be a breeze!

shredie,
I like your idea of adding a packet of Via to the room service coffee! I think I'll try this.
-
Thanks for the detailed review. I especially enjoy your photos of the smaller islands, anticipating a future visit.

In August we spent three days at the Radisson Blu Royal, across the street from Tivoli. Perfect location, and the HOHO bus has a main stop at the corner of the hotel.
Beautiful room, great breakfast.
-
Thanks for taking us along on your exciting cruise!
We did the Baltic on the Regal last month, and I look forward to seeing more of Norway on a fjords tour in the future.

I just disembarked from the Royal 9 days ago. While on board I asked Ron Goodman about the center stairs. He confirmed that they would be opened up for passengers during the dry dock this fall.

Shogun,
I'm looking forward to your review, especially your thoughts on sailing so far north, i.e. rough seas, etc. Enjoy the land of the midnight sun aboard one of my favorite ships!
-
This is definitely me. At this point I have three lined up, and may add another early next year. Then I'll be elite and will be completely hopeless!

We are sailing the Regal in August, and Giuseppe Romano will be the captain on our cruise.

My family toured with RIL for a couple of ports in Italy in 2011.
The highlight of our entire cruise was the day we spent touring from Naples to Pompeii, Sorrento, and Positano.
Rome In Limo set up our private tour guide in Pompeii ahead of time, and he was waiting for us as we arrived at the entrance area. We had free time to wander and shop in Sorrento, with suggestions of places to have lunch. We also had free time to explore Positano so we walked down through the town to the beach.
The drive along the Amalfi coast was breath-taking, and our driver stopped a couple of times for us to take photos.
It was a very full day, and RIL handled all the details seamlessly. We couldn't have wished for a more perfect day enjoying such an incredibly beautiful area of Italy.
Because RIL helped us have such an awesome day, I will be doing the same excursion through their tour-sharing program again this July when a friend and I sail on the Royal Princess.

We were on board the Emerald last week and saw maybe ten kids he entire time.
What a difference a week makes!
-
I love the Emerald and can't wait to be on board again next weekend.
Thanks, Ed2, for a reminder on some not-to-be-missed entertainment!

Different cruise lines have different cultures and traditions.
Why don't the "pajamas, me-me-me" people just choose a more casual cruise line?
-
Thanks for posting your beautiful photos.
I would very much like to explore the Peloponnese someday. I loved Olympia and can't wait to return.

Who. Cares.
Wear what you want, clothes that are comfortable, and only be mindful of respecting tradition when visiting churches and mosques.

I love the Emerald. I did a B2B on her in October, and will sail on her again next month.
The Promenade deck is a beautiful spot for watching the sea and sunsets.
I had no problems on board, food and service were great.
I agree that many people have a very negative attitude and will look for problems. Traveling, as with all aspects of life, with an open mind and a positive attitude, will make experiences and all of life better. Many people never have the chance to take a cruise. You are lucky! Enjoy it!
Has anyone attended the Edinburgh Tattoo with Private Seating & Reception?
